I think they would be more likely to make a "Limited" run and charge 5K for it...🙄 Cool dial. I hope in the future there will be one available on a lighter watch. 😅
Because these are just seiko knock-offs, thats why. That's not a negative comment, just the truth. These look like great watches, probably better built than Seiko.
Marc, you are correct, you do not need to apologize, it’s your channel and we all know what you’re doing, I think it’s great, it lets the viewers and potential customers get a better look and understanding of the watch you’re selling, you are a watch guy, a businessman promoting and showcasing your watches, absolutely nothing wrong with that....
Just got mine yesterday, and put in on a blue elastic nylon strap. It looks NICE!!! Really beautiful and high spec. watch. Thanks Marc for building this.
Congratulations, Marc! This is a Great Job..... You have tremendous ideas that many "established brands" are not able to concretize anymore or busy with endless sterile meetings in their comfortable boardrooms paralyzed with a large bureaucracy. You a real ENTREPRENEUR! Following people's wishes.
Just got mine in the mail. Fast shipping! I ordered late in the day on the 6th, was on my door step today the 10th. I even picked the cheapest "free" shipping. Awesome watch so far.
Mark, I’ve not been into your Island watches so far but this one I absolutely love. I’ve got a white Uniqlo Tee shirt with the Hokusai wave 🌊 printed on it. This watch will perfectly compliment the shirt.
Saw that it came back in stock and ordered yesterday and should have tomorrow. Love my modded SKX from LIW and can’t wait to get my hands on this latest one.
I just got my ISL-26 and it is awesome. I thought I was done buying watches for a while. But I gotta have this one. I have two Islanders and they have become my favorites. The lume is awesome, the bracelet is great. If I could mod it I'd add a ratcheting divers clasp. I wanted to add the Strapcode clasp but it won't fit.
Just when I'm finally deciding on which Islander watch I should get, u keep releasing these awesome designs. First the Red October now this? Lol keep up the great work.
Been waiting for this one... you keep releasing islanders! PS I tested the hardness of all my crystals and the islander beat everything, including the Oris as well as having better AR than the Oris. It keeps impressing me, that's for sure. Edit: the dual time bezel was genius, what a great idea!
Ordered. I've bought a few Kanagawa dial modded watches, but this will be my first in the Samurai case with the very useful 12 hour bezel. This was an excellent choice. Most of my modded great wave dial watches don't have hour marker, so adding the 12 hour bezel makes it perfect.
just ordered it! can't wait! I was notified that it was back in stock just a day ago, and couldn't decide between the red Samurai, this one, or waiting for the waffle dial in other colors (I don't really like ice blue) but I pulled the trigger!
I've seen that dial on San Martin and other homage brands, but this is the only time I've ever seen the dial completely clean and free of brand logo, indices, and date window. I actually like this look better as some of those other watches as they tend to crowd the dial with text and logos, and it makes it way too busy. Good idea to go all clean! I personally would offer a second model with the day/date wheels, but still free of logos and text. I think it would still look great.
This print is of the most well known wood block prints by Hokusai from the series “100 Views of Mt. Fuji”. There are lots of equally beautiful prints in this series, some might go well with Pepsi, Coke, or black bezel inserts. Maybe when my wife forgets about your two Fliegers that recently arrives... BTW, I love the field watch, I’ve been eye-balling the Hammie for a while, but now I’m going to wait. Stay safe good sir and keep the awesomeness coming!
That will look awesome front and center on the Islander Watch Co. poster, surrounded by all the ISL watches to date. Yep that would look very cool...........................😬 Great looking watch Marc. Well done. Congratulations.
This is a beautiful watch great choice to go with no date, my only gripe are the hands. Maybe skeletonized hands to showcase that dial even more, they look a bit thick and cover that artwork.
Oh maaaan... 5 days and it has already sold out 😢 Looks amazing though, and I do like how the wave isn't interrupted by date nor markers. @Long Island Watch are you planning to do another run soon?
Okay, that's two of your watches I really really want! This one, and the lume dial ISL-26! Right now saving for the Steinhart Ocean One Titanium 500, but hopefully before next year is over I'll be sporting a nice Islander watch as well.
Very nice watch. The art work is a print. The stamp part was made out of wood, after that you put a special kind of ink on the sculpted peace and stamp it on a paper made of silk. With that technique you could print between one a two hundred specimen. The MET in NY as a very nice one on display. Sorry the history teacher in me got out of control. Very cool loom.
Congrats, Mark you have just talked yourself out of another sale. I was positive 7 hours ago I was pulling the trigger on the Red October, but now..... Dude!! It's like every two weeks you drop some new incredibleness!!!! I really don't know what to do here?!?!? Cause I know you will prolly drop some new magnificent creature before Christmas that I will want. Please if you have another release make a sub-par something or other so I won't be conflicted.
Marc, I love that field watch that you keep teasing us with. Make it 38mm, in black and with a red second hand and I will buy your watch over the Hamilton khaki field!
There is something cool about that watch - a dial without indices - those are on the bezel, so a bit like a gmt. Nice idea. Blank dial and indices on a rotating bezel.
Man, Marc! I missed this video by AN HOUR! Finally, my watch has arrived in your store. I can't believe you didn't give me a secret heads up. I'll let it slip...this time. Edit: Thanks for not defacing the dial with a logo, since you left out the day/date.
Good point, I didnt even notice the absence of the logo since the dial face is so stunning! it was for sure a wise decision along with leaving out the day/date.
@@TysonHook-22- It's got a signed crown, so it's still present. If I can't have a day/date window, I don't need anything else cluttering up the dial, either. I appreciate his work and commitment to his customer base. "Thanks, Marc!"
@@manny7886 I've been working another 14 hour shift... again... and working on my day off tomorrow, too. It's easy for me to miss notifications. I watched the video twice before immediately purchasing one. I'm getting serial number 000001 because Marc trashed my Red October submission yesterday.
Such a beautiful watch I love day/date watches but I think you made the right choice going without any distracting obstruction on the dial face. I wonder how much it would cost to make the blue of the waves a sunbrust reflective blue, that would make this watch even greater looking then it already is... if its even possible i'm sure such an intricate sunburst design would be quite expensive to produce but that would seriously step this watch up to the next level for sure. As a avid fisherman this watch is on my short list, funny thing is I already find myself getting lost starring at my watches through out the day... with the islander great wave on wrist id for sure get lost in its looks.
love a 38mm version... something about the hour and min hands... not sure if some lum accent is needed.. not just for no light, but when the hour hand points into the blue of the wave... but a nice watch for sure...
I just bought ISL28 last week and told myself no more watches this year. The great wave is already forcing me to take a second thought :). Beautiful dial!

Hey Marc that great wave dial is outstanding although it is a bit to busy for me. This is the red October wave?
Funny. Yeah. It's the "Marc needs a new car" release.
It doesn't have the red second hand! LOL
It's the Red October Tomahawk Nuclear Cruise Missile wave.
@42treg It's called Wave Goodbye, because they'll be sold out soon.
Already gone in 2 days? When will you get another batch in?
I love that it's less cartoonish than other renditions of that artwork. The colors in the sky is what makes it a stunner. Good job, Marc!
Thank you
The very best watch version of The Great Wave I’ve seen - Love it 👍🏻
Thanks
It’s very nice but let’s not go crazy with the best watch version ever. Go to the Seiko Credor site. www.credor.com/special/fugaku/english.php

Great to hear!

Careful Mark. Right now seiko lawyers are trying to figure out if they can sue you for something they should have thought of first.
Haha, thanks.

well done on the new smaller size Islanders, the 38 and 40mm are beautiful affordable watches and just what watch collectors have been calling out for
Decided to order it today... Out of stock o well added myself to the waiting list if it is ever redone-absolutely beutiful dial.
Really good design choices (no numbers, no date, 12 hr bezel, full lume, etc.). Been waiting for this one!
Agreed!
The wave of this watch is more immersive than that of a seamaster! Amazing!!!
Love what you have done Marc. Un-cluttering the classic print is most appropriate.

A light border around the hands would've really made it pop at 10-11 o clock. The hour hand gets lost in the wave. Still looks awesome. Im getting 1.
Thanks Edwin.
I love it! Just keep them coming that's all I can say. Love everything your doing.
