Honestly your video's are some of the, if not THE most informative in the pokemon space. The way you're able to combine your marketing knowledge and skills with your knowledge of pokemon and trading cards is awesome and you're one of the few youtubers that truly bring the risks and downsides to light. The editing is also amazing. I think you'll be top 10 pokemon youtubers eventually for sure. Keep doing what you're doing man🙏
I want to add something hahahha. The way you transition into other topics at the end of the video is so smooth and satisfying it makes me wanna watch video's i've already seen😂 (i know that's the point but you do that really well)
@senn808 I also want to piggy back off of your comment in that I've seen Pokemon RUclipsrs with hundreds of thousands of subscribers with half the detail and knowledge. This is the best channel I follow related to the Pokemon hobby. Absolutely love this channel and the editing is wonderful. Keep it up Phllips Collectibles!
Way to keep things straightforward and informative! It’s amazing how much there is to know in the hobby, and how daunting that may be for people entering the space. Thank you for helping make an inclusive space surrounding the world of collecting cards Phil 👍
Really like your videos Phil! 👍 I follow different youtubers but when I ain't got much time I choose your videos to watch because they have better info in less time and are more enjoyable! Thank you!
These videos are very beneficial especially for new people entering the hobby. For example, it took me about a year to realize that the later sets in an era generally have more popularity when compared to the first few sets. Generally this follows the trend aside from Paldea evolved.
When you say don’t buy a damaged copy of a card - what is your definition of a damaged card? Like should you avoid a card if it just has a tiny speck of whitening or is slightly mis-centered (might grade a PSA 9) and only buy a card if it’s literally a perfect card that is a PSA 10 candidate? Or do you mean cards with clearly visible damage (scratches, creases, bends, stains, etc)?
As someone who's been playing pokémon since pokémon Gold, I just recently got into the hobby. My only goal is to buy pokémon that I used in the game that I really like. So far I bought the illustration rare 151 alakazam and just plan to buy singles that I like.
I’ve never understood the idea that you have to be a big time investor who only buys cases to get enjoyment or good return on investment. I started collecting again a few months back and I’ve just been buying a booster box or PC ETB at a time and have been having a blast and my collection has grown in value better than most of the stocks I own.
hi im thinking about starting to invest in pokemons. the only thing that’s holding me back is that i want to make money fast by reselling (within a month) and i dont know if pokemons is a great investment for that (they usally grow in like 6 months to a year). so i wanted to ask u if investing in pokemon is worth for me or its better to save moneys
I have a rule for myself only collect the cards I like 👍 after completing brilliant stars and obsidian flames and trying with paldean fates and I'm now skint that rule has me on the straight and narrow
i bought 13 PE packs and a elite trainer box for 225 USD. I'm. thinking it can eventually reach the same price of Evolving Skies. Would this be a good investment?
Evolving skies had thousands of big hits stolen by an employee. They were destroyed and never reprinted. Hence the price. I believe fusion strike was stolen from as well. So nothing will be quite like it.
How do people even buy cases lol i have a hard time just trying to find my kids packs and etbs where i live. I do have a question if i somehow find prismatic on shelves would it be dumb to let my kids rip it or should it be kept sealed?
Let them enjoy them but I honestly would buy like 2 or 3 and put them to the side and never touch them. I have a small card shop here where the lady orders me a case or 2 from the vendors so that's where I get mine
@@CarlosMartinez-dc2ii i will if I can find them the only thing I've found on shelves for a decent price lately was obsidian flames it saved Xmas lol 🤣

I appreciate that! Thanks for the amazing words.
Yeah I agree 100 percent I think his content is the best in the Pokemon investing space

Only 14 days left for the big release where we all been waiting for.
Man it's going to be crazy. I'm so glad i was able to get some packs
The hardest set to get packs for!
I have 2 ETBs on the way! Can’t wait to put them on my shelf and never open them!
Thanks for mentioning number 3. I never see people mention it
I personally don't like that mastering a set has become the exception, not the rule.

I think he means cards with a lot of damage like creases and scratches and surface wear
@@tawussy8648 that’s what I assumed, but wanted to make sure.
How long have you been editing videos for? Deff top tier editing 💯
Well its 2025 now, and I started editing in 2015, so that's 10 years!
@ it shows bro!! Love your vids

Much respect, Phil.
You got the juice with the editing and sneak peaks into the next video to raise curiosity.
THe #1 thing to increase click through views is plug another video at the end.
That is very helpful, thank you
one of your best to date. Your content is great! Cheers fellow Aussie
Appreciate the support!

Theres no point in opening anymore. The pull rates suck.
Its only worth as an investment.
How do you keep pumping out such informative videos on such a regular basis?!
I love buying damaged copies of cards as I collect purely for art, but I 100% agree on investment front not to buy. More for me though haha
what do you think about Jouney Together? Do you think it will be a popular set?

not good for quick scalping tbh .. best for mid to long term hold
You say good friends are still out there, im lucky with my best friend he gifted me a alt art pikachu from surging sparks 😊
It still baffles me that the Moonbreon psa 9 card is almost even in price with THE OG Moonbreon psa 9 card (Neo Discovery 1st ed)
When is the next generation coming? Ist there any information
I have a rule for myself only collect the cards I like 👍 after completing brilliant stars and obsidian flames and trying with paldean fates and I'm now skint that rule has me on the straight and narrow
I missed the time I would trade a Base Set Blastoise for a Jungle Vileplume...
I’ve never liked owning master sets because each set will have cards I don’t LOVE and I don’t want any cards that I don’t love.
My strategy:
1: Buy fan favorite high grade vintage slabs.
2: Hold
I just buy ETBs and collect as a display piece

Everyone is looking for the next Evolving Skies, it ain't happening no matter how much people pump this set.
You mean you bought something before knowing if buying it is a good idea or not?
Evolving skies had thousands of big hits stolen by an employee. They were destroyed and never reprinted. Hence the price. I believe fusion strike was stolen from as well. So nothing will be quite like it.
