- Join Scott, Becca and Stuz as they take a ride on the unpredictable Storm Surge at Thorpe Park, which opened at Thorpe Park for the 2011 season and is located within the Amity Cove 'disaster' area of Thorpe Park, where the Octopus Garden area once stood.
Storm Surge riders sit in a large inflatable boat and head up a 64ft lift hill, once at the top, the boat descends down a spiral chute. Velcro is strategically attached to the base of the chute to make the boats spin raucously to the bottom. At the bottom of the slide as you head back towards the station, various water features such as guest-operated water guns and water explosions soak riders.
Storm Surge is a second hand attraction at Thorpe Park, having previously operated at another park beforehand and was considered by some enthusiasts a strange move by Thorpe Park. Storm Surge started life in an American theme park called Cypress Gardens. Merlin Entertainments acquired Cypress Park in early 2010 and transformed it into Legoland Florida, however, no longer deemed suitable for Legoland, Storm Surge was packed up and sent across the Atlantic and reconstructed at Thorpe Park.

Me and my friend used this as the "warm up" to get the adrenaline going. We were freaking out the closer we got to the top, but the second the float hit the slidey floor, my friend said "oh it's fun." And we laughed the rest of the ride. The line was one of the shortest, however the ride itself isn't long. Definitely great for those who are not the best at the big rides, and getting the adrenaline flowing for the rest of the day :)
However we were only a group of two meaning we got put on with a random family that did not enjoy us being loud and laughing. Bigger groups are way better
A few drips, not too bad though. No need for any rain coats or anything
I had to wait for 2 hours with my friends😣 but it was worth it😊👍💕

I spent a hour and a half lining up for this ride and for the little ride time you get, it was definitely not worth it
Oh dear, that is a bit too long to wait! We used Fastrack, we didn't fancy waiting for it.

It's certainly not a ride with a good throughput, the queue can take forever.

I'm pretty sure you spend longer stacking at the bottom than you do on the acctual slide on a busy day.

AKA,the ride that had me walking around in drenched socks half the day lol😂
when I first went in this no one screamed so I assumed it wasn't scary and I went on it and as it went onto the slide I screamed so loud. night rides on this are so amazing

The Swarm is probably the tamest coaster at Thorpe Park.

Last time i went to thorpe park i went on this ride and literally when i was less than a meter away from the place you get off and it broke down making me wait about 30 minutes

I love this ride. I got boiled to death in the 6-hour long queue line just to ride this and I’d argue it’s worth it.

It takes forever to get up the lift hill.
Yeah! The good thing is it offers a fantastic view of the whole park, the frustrating thing is it feels like it's giving you a foot massage!

I hate it when you want to go on your favourite rides like Swarm, Saw, Stealth etc but you have to lining up for an hour, but luckily i'm going on a class trip to Thorpe Park and we get to go through the fast track line and the worst think is when you lining up for ages for rides that were not worth it.
