For me this was an amazing ride, so intense and the (lack of) restraints really added to it. The slow roll, where you felt you were only being held in by your shoulders is a feeling that hasn't been replicated. RIP Slammer, best flat ride in history.

I went to thorpe park with my school last year and my friend and I went on this ride, on the opposite side, there was an entire class of 12 year olds who all came off crying! Am amazing ride but not for the faint of heart!
I used to love this ride. A comeback is very unlikely though. Everything in that area is gone with the exception of some children's flat rides and rocky express. I'm hoping for something big in that area to make up for the loss of both this and the even better logger's leap.
I went on the Slammer years ago and it was of course scary. I want to go on it again but because the last time I went on it was so long ago I have forgotten what it feels like.

I went on it yesterday, was really nervous in the que line as I've only started going on the big rides quite recently, even though the seats were uncomfortable it's a fun ride and is definitely worth doing

It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Like you only have things on your shoulders holding you down so I was like woah what when I was getting on but it's honestly not that bad. Rush is worse XD

Honestly one of the best rides Thorpe Park had, the year they installed this and Rush was such a good one! Two incredible flat rides.

Yes you can pull them down as tight as you want, I went on this first time today and I am quite small and felt very secure in the seats

soulder things that push down to your size and a handle bar (like on rush) across your legs and tummy, they are very safe and do not move at all

This ride had a long history of technical issues and was very frequently out of service. I think that's why it got removed.

Rush is a big arm swing (still in operation), Slammer is as shown in this video and has been out of service since 2017.

It is set to open, the last few days theve been doing tests with water dummy's so its not going just yet.
