Scottie, we all are with you and love you as you do us. I am a 76 year old man who has lived in the NYC area my entire life. I was in Detroit only one time; that was to see a series with the Indians for their last homestand ever in the old Tiger Stadium. God, I loved that place. I was lucky enough to witness the '68 and '84 World Series and grew up with players such as Frank Lary,, Hank Aguirre, Paul Foytack, Mickey Lolich, Bill Freehan, Willie Horton, Al Kaline, Dick McCauliffe, Jake Woods, Steve Boros, Phil Raegan, Norm Cash, Gibby, Sweet Lou, Tram & so many more. However the playoffs go Scottie, we will be there with you through the good, the bad and the ugly. Thank you so much Scottie. Ray
I was 10 when the ‘68 Tigers were world champions. Those guys were and still are my sports heroes. I’ve been a Tigers fan for a very, very long time. The wait between successful seasons has been crushing sometimes . But all is endured to have an experience like this. Glad you Scott, and all loyal Tiger fans wherever they are, are able to enjoy Tiger baseball! Go get ‘em Tigers!😀
I was crying watching the celebration when Benetti and Hinch hugged. Jason has meant so much to this entire run and I think AJ has a lot to do with him being here now. Roar of 24 will never be forgotten no matter what happens going forward.
Cmon man we barely made the playoff and you out here crying? This is why Detroit sports have been terrible for the past 10+ years because for some reason people like you enjoy mediocrity.
@@calraymond7756cal it’s been 10 years. I’ve had 3 family members pass since then that were die hard tigers fans. I cried thinking about them. So before you start blowing up everyone’s emotions. Maybe think why this is a big deal to some of us. Go be a low life somewhere else.
@calraymond7756 barely? Do you know how much dog shit we've endured between 2014 and 2024? I can name a million things. Brad Ausmas consistently under achieving time and time again. Remember when they hired? Ron fucking Gardenhire? Remember how good the Tigers were supposed to do in 2022? Coming up short in 2016? Trotting out rosters of everyday AAA players pretty much? Constantly selling every single year at the trade deadline which includes this year? 10 years is not a short stretch.
@@big4sportsnewsofficialyout813 yes barely, we have the worst record out of any team who made the playoffs and wouldn’t even be in the playoffs if we were in the national league. And I’m not just talking about how bad the tigers have been I’m talking about Detroit sports in general, Detroit is arguably the worst sports city in the country other than the red wings despite them not making the playoffs in 8 years. 5 minutes in I’m crying. Thank you for all the coverage this year so far Scotty. Let’s have a week! Never know. October baseball gets wild. Let’s have some fun!
You REALLY don't know how long older LION fans waited for them to get back in the Championship game - only 66 years ! --BUT yes I am SO happy The TIGERS reached the playoffs in 10 years . GO TIGERS ! /// GO LIONS !
I predicted 88 wins, the Central title, and that the pitching would shock MLB. So, I was close, I was wrong, and I was right. Now, beat Verlander, Judge & Shohei.
Verlander probably won't pitch with how bad he's been this year. 5.48 ERA. Astros got good enough starting pitching without him & he would be just be a handicap for them.
Some people just don’t understand. It seems like a lifetime since Granderson, miggy and Maggs. I can’t say enough how happy I am Tigers Baseball is back.
You are telling my story I was 9 years old back in 1984 and I rooted for everyone of those 119 losses in 2003 becauseAlan trammel was one of my heroes I pray for this team I pray the Lord lead them to the field and to our first World Series championship in 40 years
Saturday vs the White Sox was a double hangover game . 1) hangover from the grind & 2) adrenaline/party hangover. Sunday was hopefully Kenta Maeta’s farewell game. Kenta is a great guy, he’s just done. “LET’S GO TIGERS!”
I am so sick and tired of hearing how this team was rebuilt. In 2014-16, this team was torn apart by "baby" Illich, and we had no place to go but up. We just needed a few add-ons each year to stay competitive, and we were handed a load of B.S. for a decade, so this is great but should never have been necessary.
Locked on the present. Tigers are going to face some top shelf pitching against Houston. The bats have to stay hot and the pitchers filling up the strike zone.
My God, Scott. I don't care if you covered this game today, or series, but man, you should at least mention that we got a GRAND SLAM. So, Houston, not Baltimore? Ok. Fun team to play. Hope we can win this series for Hinch. Not as a reaction to his suspension, or anything, but to show that he really is MANAGER OF THE YEAR caliber! Maybe we can pick up Verlander, if we have room, and BREGMAN. Excited, too. Two of my favorite players from our last winning baseball teams are Placido Polanco and MAGGLIO ORDONEZ! Go Tigers!
I would've like to have gotten the 5th just because if the Tigers and Royals made it to the ALCS the Tigers would have the home field advantage.. But let's get it, the grit don't quit
Losing two out of 3 to the white Sox at home right after you clinch the playoffs isn’t *exactly* the best way to go into the post-season. They’re going to have to play better than that, otherwise they’re going to get chewed up pretty fast. Kind of makes me wonder, did they do that on purpose? Like they really wanted to play Houston and not Baltimore? And If they beat the Astros, they wouldn’t have to face the Yankees until the ALCS. I hope that’s the case and they didn’t just take a dump on the home field 😅. That being said, I’m really thrilled that they made the playoffs again. They earned it! But now they need to play better than they did over the weekend. They’re going to have to hit Houston with everything they’ve got and play like they’ve been playing. I know they can do it! The Tigers are back! Eat those trash can banging Astros for lunch 😁.
If we’re not ready for a team like Houston then how did take series’ over the Dodgers, Guards, and Yankees? We took 2 series from the Orioles at the end, and they have a better record than the ‘stros. It’ll be a tough series but acting like either team has it in the bag is laughable.
What Hinch showed to the fans after Friday was a slap in the face to fans. Talk about a momentum breaker. Majeda, really, what a disgrace, I hope that clown is not on the roster for the playoffs, along with Mize. Yikes. Get your mojo back by Tuesday and "bless you boys".
was it just celebrating to much the bad weather or just worn out going 32-11 since august the bats got cold the last two games of the regular season?! 🤷♂️🤔🤷♂️

SCOTTY!!! THEY DID IT HOLY SHIT!!! All thanks to you and Jason Benetti of course.
AJ knows how to utilize a player's strength which is why he never had one set roster and used match ups when asked
let's go!
Not me getting emotional at the end of this episode 😅
The biggest reason why it took 10 year's to make the playoffs was the plan Mr Illitch and Dave Dombrowski made spend money to win a world series.

Amon to that!

On a very minor note, I believe that gets us the 20th pick in the draft next year (unless playoff performance affects that).
If you include the IL only 3 players have playoff experience
Welcome to the Astros annual AL invitational…

Need to win Game 1 in Houston. Win game one and the ALL the pressure shifts to the Astros.
Good path for us this side of playoffs Houston then Cleveland better then Baltimore then Yankees good chance of advancing to the big game.
