Did you notice all the Mercedes cars? Albania is lovely and scenic, definitely worth a consideration for a summer holiday rather than Greece. The southern end of the country is right next to Corfu (Greek Island) but without the crowds or bogans! And a shitload cheaper too. See Ksamil area. Greek style beaches but Albanian prices. Just got back to AUS after 14 weeks in SE Europe. Albania, Montenegro and Croatia definitely the highlights of the 13 countries we saw.
Hey Rob and Charlie, that was a fantastic episode on Albania. It's a country I've never really learnt much about, so it was great to have your historical and informative narration throughout the episode. I never realised it was such a mountainous country either, so that was very informative. I found the whole episode, very interesting with your explanation of the differences between when it was under communist rule, as opposed to now. Even though I know you are an atheist, I think it's wonderful that you do take the time to go and look at the various churches cathedrals and mosques that you see in the countries due visit. It would be wonderful to have a sitdown open chat with you one day regarding the various religions in the world and your take on them. In that regard, I'd only like to add that it's not so much that God needs money (clearly if he was real, he wouldn't), it's more that he wants to be able to see our fidelity to him over other materialistic pleasures in life. Accordingly, he calls for the 'first fruits' of our labour so as to show that Fidelity over the rest of our lives. Hence, this is evidence with the monetary giving and 'gold shiny things' as you like to call them being presented in and around churches. Again great episode love it. Good to see you out and about travelling again. Can't wait for the next one. I wish you both a very Merry Christmas and happy New Year for 2024 from everyone down under. Cheers..
Great Vlog guys!! Albania is becoming a very hot spot to be discovered!! In addition people are extremely friendly, generous, and the country its so diverse!
Hey on the religion topic, yes we have a perfect harmony between religions , and Interreligious marriage are very common , and also we celebrate each others religious holydays, for example cathptilic/orthodox often fasting or inviting for dinner during ramadan , giving each other easter eggs and celebrating xmas/new years. Btw in Albanian christams is very often equivalent to new years, for example we call the christmass tree, the new years tree , many ppl dont even know the tree is a christmass tradition and not a new years one 😂. Also if you like montains so much, if u ever come during the summer u should definitely go through LLogara pass , even though i have done it couple of time its still stunning
Great vlog, Rob & Charlie, you would enjoy much more if you had to come on summer time, is plenty to do and visit then , either in South by the sea or North by the Alps ..
Thank you! We use the DJI wireless 2. They are great for the 2 of us. We used to use a Rhode shotgun mic bit if someone was far away or behind the camera it would sound rubbish
Lovely apart from the weather 😊. Agreed about the cathedral mosque thing, but the mosque was still pretty ornate, I wonder what the new mosque looks like 🤔. Very interesting how Albania isn't particularly wealthy, but has such a giant shopping centre 😳. Hey Charlie, my feet and legs hurt after walking heaps too, and I feel your pain, I have to take panamax and anti inflammatories afterwards😟.
I have seen the mosques some are pretty some are like improvised ones, we are like 70% muslim but a minority practices religion in Albania. We have no religion problems at all. You can se coupless like muslim and christian or aller religion. We dont care much about religion
Ok so the statistic everyone likes to quote that more Albanians live outside Albania is false. The reason why that is , is that Albania was partitioned after world war 1 at the conference of London, half was given to the allies that won in the world War, a part went to Yugoslavia, a part went to Greece. It has nothing to do with modern immigration. Also, if you ask Germans in Germany nowadays, they will say the economy is bad. Shattered economy is a total lie, and you can see it with your own eyes, everything works. They just are envious that you can make more money in western countries, and they have no idea how the system works in the west. Brits think they’re country is doing poorly too. Don’t let the media influence your prospective, judge for yourself. Do you see any suffering? No.
11:32 really amused me 🤣 who cares? Rob, the believers care - otherwise they wouldn't believe. The point is that apparently they have accepted the fact that not everybody else cares, and those who don't care have grown to respect the fact that some people do actually care😉
I comment very rarely, but this occasion i couldn’t pass it on! Thing that you got wrong! Religion = wrong Economy =wrong Politics = wrong Geography =wrong Population =wrong I could go on and on about how poor the illustration of that country was presented above, So I’ll gave it to you that you did get it right one thing the chocolate was top shelf 👍
?? I don't know how much more one can learn during a 2 day stay...Anyway, if you can do it better - do, by all means, do. At least one or two sentences on each of the listed subjects to get us on a better path. I'm now considering visiting Albania and would like to learn a bit more before the trip.
That’s the problem with the ppl now days that have a platform and talking nonsense on it , this guys have skipped the whole school not just the geography classes 😂😂
The town looks amazing very beautifully decorated better than most towns in England

Where did they find this music in Birmingham 😂 cos that is definitely not Albanian music. 😂
Haha it was Balkan music

The point I'm making is, although we don't believe the same thing, who cares what someone else believes. Especially if it doesn't affect you
@@CharlieandRob I know, I know ,it just sounds funny🙃

Sad.😞
Because it's a vlog
Is Albania in Europe???? Hmmm 🤔 no it’s actually in Africa 😏.
We probably meant more like in the EU
Albania is the oldest country in Europe. Get informed, unless you are ironic with your comments.
