Great to see you away exploring Charlie ❤ Amazing history information about Sofia, it is now on the list 👍🏽 I love trams too…..used them a lot in Prague 😊 Ribs looked amazing 🤩 and good price 😊
Took awhile for this vlog to make itself known to me...not sure why🫤 That cathedral was amazing and the gardens looked stunning. Safe travels Charlie... much love from Sydney x
Great vlog! You are such a sweet person, I love watching your videos! I'm really happy you are enjoying your time in Sofia! Welcome to Bulgaria, hopefully you will be treated with the respect and hospitality Balkan people are famous for during your whole stay! :))
Good luck. A long time ago, when they were expelled from all Western countries, we gave them shelter in the Kingdom of Poland. We were then a superpower in Europe, several hundred years later, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth ceased to exist. Coincidence??? I don't think so.
No. Before Roman there were Thracians. Their culture was one of the first civilizations in Europe. The first gold treasure was found 7000 years ago so she may be mention that particular time and the oldest civilization on earth too.
@@DesieNikolova First of all, Desie, the comment was directed to the fact that she clearly thinks Roman times were 7000 years ago, which is absurd as Rome was founded in 753 BC. Second, by 7000 years ago she is referring to a Stone Age village found in Slatina(on bul. Shipchenski Prohod) that was hardly a civilization of any kind. It existed for about 500 years and was wiped out long before Serdica was founded. It is not even located in the same place. It was NEAR the city of Serdica. The location became part of the city in the last 70 years. The culture predates the Thracians by a few millennia. So, no, Sofia was not founded 7000 years ago. There were just some people living in the area 7000 years ago, which is true for many cities. Lastly, the gold you are referring to is from the Chalcolithic (Copper) age and is 6000 years old, which is a 1000-year difference. It is also found in VARNA and not in Sofia and is nowhere near the Stone Age village found in Sofia.

@@CharlieandRob no, Charlie, it's not. You did not bother to read the Wikipedia article you got it from. actually yes - almost like mosques in The Western countries
The way I see it a church is just a place of worship, a Cathedral needs somebody to enact rituals.
