Locker Nuts episode 748
The hunt continues, as I dig through this big pod that I bought for $1,500 at the live storage auction. We are finding some great items, it's definitely been a blast from the past. We also get into our first trunk and find that it's a veritable time capsule full of all types of artifacts. But while digging, I receive the owner's request to get her stuff back... what should I do?
We'll be selling the best items from our purchases on Whatnot. The links are above to sign up and get a free $15 credit to spend, and here is the link directly to our next show. Join us for some live auction fun!

It is what it is. You paid for it. Dont feel bad about it. This is your business.
note: YKK is the name of the zipper manufacturer. They are supposed to be a quality zipper.
You may want to recheck that Trifari elephant brooch. I think someone painted it after. It should be all goldtone.
I'm glad you gave the family their pictures back because they're only priceless to the family! The other stuff, you paid for it, and it now belongs to you. I can't wait to see what's in the other trunks! 😊
If she truly wanted the stuff, she would have already have made the effort to get it. You are generous to give her back the photos.
Agreed wouldn’t be in storage and would have made effort earlier to get it out
Thank you Betty.....I can't believe the ones who are criticizing Jack for not giving her things of value..It's her fault!!
Just give her back the papers and stuff that you are not selling.
I buy Storage units you have to give back financial documents and family photo's
You have spoiled me with your organization and your cleanliness. I would rather watch you than any other storage purchaser.
#LETSGOLOCKERNUTS
I would do the same thing you are doing. The more personal things are the letters, paperwork, photos. The rest is not personal, and is yours.
I'm thinking somebody was in a hurry to clean out their mom and dad's house and it all got packed in storage
I agree with you on NOT meeting them in person. Too many things to go wrong. You have to watch your back when doing this. Some one might go crazy on ya!
I KNOW that the kind thing to do is to think about it, but they had time to claim it. That's the name of the game. I'd give back personal pictures, remains of loved ones, but to want all the things back they shouldn't be allowed to just come back and want it back!
Crafters love old ephemera!
Maybe she would like to have the mattresses back😀
She would probably ask him to transport the mattress for her.
You are doing the right thing just give her back the personal stuff you've got a living to make
I think you’re doing it right Jack , their photos etc of valuable to them and some people don’t even give those back. You paid a lot of money for this, used a lot of your time, energy n gas etc you have to make a living. If she can pay for the furniture n box etc why couldn’t she pay up the locker.? It’s right also to be detatched from the seller. Once you’ve paid its all your property fair n square. You are honorable and do so much for others especially at Stockton, such low prices , literally giving away at the end. Rest assured you’re fine. 👏👏👍🏻👍🏻😍
I 100% agree.
How much money did they offer to buy back the whole locker? They usually expect to get it back free or cheap.
Two of those wallets you looked at were Hobo International wallets. They are very pricy
I’ve been shopping for a new one, I almost cried!
20:47 People use the thrashed quilts to repurpose the vintage materials into new quilts.
I agree completely with the comments. This is your property now fair and square. Whatever you chose to give back to them just shows what a kind and righteous man you are. I love your work.
The depression glass 3-legged bowl is special..❤
Wooden shoes were worn throughout the whole of the Netherlands, not just Holland 😉
chenile bedspreads are very valuable. and ripped up quilts - people buy them to do crafting. you treat that depression glass more carefully!
Nice ephemera pieces. You can do bundle packs as scrapbook/junk journaling.
As always a great video. You look a bit tired, hope you take care of yourself!
Tired, or unexcited about clearing out so much junk 😂
Hello Jack. Let's see what's left inside of this abandoned storage unit. Everything looks awesome.
That Lego Table is worth lots of money. Most I saw on eBay were over $100.00 dollars.
I used to have a pair of those shoes from Holland just like those ,that brought back so many memories when I was like five years old I would wear them, so cool.
I’m behind you on this point. She had her chance and you need to make a profit. Great video
I love Spengers. There is nothing like it. It had been around for 128 years when it closed in 2018.
Jack, I wanted that Blackberry!!
Please consider investing in a UV flashlight. You might have missed some uranium glass in one of those kitchen boxes. Love the channel!
The small chair goes with the green Lego table you put in the truck.
I agree with you, she’s lucky you’re so kind to give her personal stuff back.
Kids chair goes with that Lego table.
I don’t think I could do it, someone’s whole family history. My son just passed last year and I haven’t even wanted to give up his toothbrush. It’s still in the bathroom holder. Sometimes there’s more than money. But I still love you !!!
So sorry bout your son. Prayers for you. 🙏
I'm so sorry about your son ✨🙏✨ I can't imagine. I hope all your fond memories help to heal your hurting heart 🤗
my cousin died over 35 years ago and my aunt and uncle havent touched his bedroom, they're never come to terms with his loss he was their only kid
Thanks for sharing with us.
4:12 it's an anchor Jack, people use them to hold their boats in the water.... LOL 😆
Lol...and that one was for their little rubber raft😂
Was it a decorative towel holder? Or did I see 3 sides to it so it could stand on the counter and look "nice"?
Old dresser worth, and stuff. A lot of people used to take envelopes with money in it so even dollar bills can have Arizona or coins could have on it and sometimes the money is not just the value but actually what was made out of or the date makes a coin or dollar bill worth more money more money.
The ashes are probably remains of a person thats an urn i think 😊 and here in Europe books are very hip lol bookshops thrive so maybe it will come to you to😊
That kids chair looked like it went to the lego table?
I think the Levi's wallet will bring 5 bucks it's a very nice vintage 90-year-older piece
Hope All’s Well Looking A Bit Overworked & Tired Hope The Girls Can Give You A Hand When School’s Out. Blessings To You & The Whole Family! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
I agree, I wouldn't want to meet the previous owners either. Number one, like you said for security reasons, but also because I wouldn't want to see their faces, or if they start crying or even begging. You don't need that. This is your income and it needs to stay professional, never personal. I couldn't agree more! Be safe, be careful!
You are doing the right thing Jack. Great video. Love the little trunk. Take care darling, love to you and your family. Charlotte xx🇬🇧
Just got done watching your older videos, I was 😅 in withdrawal ❤❤
No Pain No Gain !!!!!!
Jack, that box in the trunk...it's a Victorian era celluloid box. I have an almost the same Victorian celluloid and velvet photo album!! I thought that's what you found too, when I saw it in the trunk...until you lifted it out and I saw it was a box! but yeah VICTORIAN ERA!! Nice!!!
35:42 Crochet 🧶 Hook
JACK!!! The ash is probably YaYa!!! 😱😳😬😂
Happy Friday Jack and have a wonderful weekend ❤
I always say if they wanted the stuff they should have paid for the locker not expect you to sort stuff out for them and sell or give it back. Ridiculous.
Trivia: The Barnes County Museum in Valley City North Dakota uses old sheet music to paper the bathroom walls!
Cool idea.
I think that’s a boot lacer, not a knitting needle. It’s an antique!
That little chair goes with the Lego table!
That's what I said (out loud to nobody 🤪) when he pulled it down!!!
Thats a lot of work you've done so far, in that locker! It's a
business transaction at the end of the day Jack. If she wanted her stuff back so badly then why allow yourself to lose the locker! She knew where it was, and how much she should be paying! Your doing the right thing, keep it between her and the unit owners! You have to protect yourself and your family❤some buyers wouldnt even give her the personal stuff so she should think herself lucky! Plus your giving it back free! Hoping for more treasures in the last of the stuff! Take care of yourself blessings from this Scottish Locker Nut 🎉❤x
ENJOYED!!!❤
If no one told you yet, YKK is a zipper maker. Looked like a neat bag anyway!😊❤
i have always wanted to see a video of you either testing all the jewelry or getting it tested
That large China piece is beautiful! Hope you auction it on Whatnot, keep some of those t-shirts for what not. Love them mx
Must be weird if they find the videos. Seeing someone else go through 'your' stuff. I completely understand your thought process though, you have to be safe!
I think the ashes in the URN might have been Uncle Charlie or Aunt Susie!! YUCK.
Weird fact, the storage rentals here around Sacramento 4/5 won’t let me return family photos.I mean they refuse to take them and give them back.I hold onto them for a few months just in case. One time a family had around 70 micro vhs tapes of vacations plus tons of personal stuff;letters cards.they didn’t want them?
@jack - I know you dont like to bother with glass and kitchenware, but some pieces are highly collectable!! That pink depression glass was a really nice piece; especially sans chips/flea bites. Single pueces are easier to keep safe for shipping. Just a thought...itll only add to your profit! 🤷🏻♀️
17:43 You would need to do a google lens on the orange blanket, but I think it is a desirable vintage item. Vintage linen and material are almost as desirable as vintage t-shirts.
Love the antique football - will that be on your whatnot or youtube auctions? I'll keep an eye out regardless. Great content!
The little kids chair goes to the Lego table.
Gucci is the namebrand will have a serial number in there for real the older Gucci purses. It’s hard to find the serial number. Sometimes you’ll find it in a hidden theme somewhere on inside newer Gucci. You’ll find it right up towards the top lip but you might find the serial number either like in a pocket or something like that so do look for a metal tag. Kind of feel your way around for something metal try not to cut it if you can get the serial number but you might have to.
The green box with the old lady's photo on it should be worth about $30 at the vintage market Very nice Antique or close to antique box
TBS: To Be Sorted
The little kid's chair probably goes with the leggo table!
I bought a locker and the family ask me same she was rude so I didn't give her nothing
Great video. Greetings from 🇪🇸
At 7:00, I see some kinda binder marked "Tengen". Tengen is a video game company spun off from Atari. I have no idea what that binder is or whats in it, but it could be interesting.
Maybe that kids chair goes with the Lego table
Hey Jack and Janna! 🙋♀️
The two wooden kids chairs go with the Lego table as a set
@LockerNuts Jack that’s not a knitting needle. It’s a boot hook, used in Victorian times to help fasten ladies and gents boot buttons.
YKK is the zipper brand you goof
I would give all the stuff and the trunks back to the family 👏🏻
Jack, that's kid's chair goes with the Lego table. I sold a Lego table without the chair for $20. I got it for free! Lol 😆
It's all yours now, Jack. You're always kind giving back photos to families. The rest is your property you paid for. The Mad magazines? The lot of them I bought from you a while ago was the first thing I bought from you and Janna, my first WN purchase. Do you still have the big jar of change you've been collecting?? The pills from one of the purses looked like birth control.
I wouldn’t stare down the barrel of a gun even if I knew it was fake!
Yes it is a Cutco knife. That look like Fenton??
If people don’t pay for there locker they must have signed to pay rent if not they lose it after so long. Even the contents , ok personal photos give back , you paid plenty for locker and it’s all yours jack 😊😊❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🌺🦋🌺🦋
You do realize that Garfield was copyrighted in 1978 . Garfield was drawn differently in 78 then it is today.
Great collection of older things l totally understand where u are coming from with the families . Thank you for giving the personal things back but knowing me l probably would of gave the gun back and pocket watches. But is why l watch your shows because l am not a business person. I would most likely be broke ❤
The little kids chair goes with the Lego table
Yep that was Cutco
1975
i want that thrashed quilt please !
I think this is a real gun as I turn it towards me and look down the barrel. I grew up around guns, my heart dropped when you did that. It only takes a split second. Please be careful and make sure its not loaded.
Sure looked like a cutco knife. I have had them for over 50 years. Even an old knife can be sent in and they will sharpen it or replace with new one if can’t repair
That big knife that you said looks like a Cutco it is a Cutco vintage though, that butchers knife from Cutco is the most expensive knife I believe just not the vintage one. Still a great knife.
The "mortar and pestle" is called A MOLCAJETE
what do you do with all the totes you get?
where is the second part video to this unit??
Kappa is a designer from the 80s. I remember getting my son some trainers and clothes that were really expensive back then. This was in the UK so not sure about US. I think you are being kind to give back the letters etc. Sort of think you should sell the little shoes though as they can be worth quite a bit due to being antique, but that is up to you.
selling at alameda this coming weekend?
"I think this is a real gun" proceeds to look down barrel. LOL
Yes, after it is checked to make sure it is not loaded, I check the barrel to see if it is clear. A firing gun would be clear but I recently found one that was a prop, and the barrel didn't go all the way through so it wasn't able to be fired.
8:05 that’s silver plate
Yeah, always laughing when he says it looks like silver. Value 10$ in their WhatNot auction after ”they are super super pretty”, ”gorgeous” and ”come on guys, it’s a steal”.
I love depression glass
I don’t get into storage like I haven’t bought one before but a friend of mine bought one and in the stack of old black-and-white photograph he’s going to throw out I got a bunch of Elvis Presley photographs and they are from when he was in the army and Boot Camp so you can find all kinds of neat stuff and some of the old photographs if you can identify who is in the photograph
I think you are wise not to sell peoples old stuff back to them. Who knows where that could end? They could end up asking for nearly everything and that would just be a mess. Also, you’re right, there could be some safety issues in that. People can get very emotional and weird about their possessions.
