Man, did you absolutely crush Temu in this review. I honestly kind of love the shift of attitude as it allowed you to be blunt and to the point about the product of a company that absolutely deserved this beatdown. That community post you made earlier teasing this review makes so much more sense now lol. Amazing video, Brock!
I watch RUclips on TV most of the time and I can promise you that $15 a month for premium is worth not seeing those long-ass ads. I had forgotten about them; how annoying. I remembered now that every time tI clicked on a video, there was an ad, maybe two. It's as much as some subscriptions, cheaper than others, but I watch it more than the two others I have (Prime & Paramount+).
Recently, Ash Jones from The Chaps Guide did a piece on the fast fashion biz. He made many very good points about sustainability and filling the market and the environment with crappy items. I tend towards having fewer quality goods that work well together. Less is more is a wise way to live. Save money and buy something worth owning. Not to mention owning for years if not decades. Case in point, I still own two pairs of AE dress shoes that are over 20 years old and have many more years left. Watch your channel from time to time. Great content. Keep it up.
Got a Temu ad while watching this. Seriously. Anyways, I really enjoyed how you mixed up the review parts, which - on a brand like Temu - necessarily have a moral side to them, with quick and juicy displays of the actual "clothes". Thanks as always, Brock!
@@DBLBLACK26 I look at Temu as a mega dollar store. If Temu shouldn't exist, then all dollar stores should be closed. Thank you for making this video Brock! We all need to do better. I don’t have a wealth of expendable funds. 6:32 I lived in Asia for 10 years, Korea for 7 of them. You would see these nonsensical attempts at putting English phrases on all sorts of Korean brand clothing, or at places like the Japanese dollar store Daiso… where you might even find a slogan like “point the same of view” on something that really doesn’t make sense like a screwdriver package or a toilet brush. I used to always laugh and say the same thing like I could make $1 million if they just paid me to proofread their English. (My wife, however, who is Korean, didn’t appreciate me joking about it even though she know it’s weird)
I’m so nervous to shop with temu because they are just way too cheap. I feel bad about making any purchase from them. I have worked extremely low paying physical labor job. I can only image what the workers are payed. I mean 2 dollar for a pay of shorts is insanely bad. You can give the items away to your local men’s shelter if you want too. It might not be the best quality but they may be able to use them.
temu may be based in the US, but they are essentially a shell company storefront for warehouses/sellers in china, and the majority of their products are shipped from there.
In a newscast, the reporters tested Temu items and found them to contain dangerous/harmful chemicals. Never buy anything from them that comes in contact with your skin or food.
I can tell you from personal experience this is a risk you have with all clothing or textile products. of course also with other products. I worked for a chain of up scale department stores. Somtimes when we would open the packaging of new clothing items we just got hit you with a bad chemical smell sometimes i had instant headache because of this. And it was not only with cheap brands.
Sorry for asking, Brock. Would you recommend a safari jacket/overshirt or a chore coat for summer days? What is more formal/versatile? Thanks you in advance for for replies!
Well done Brock! With garments like these we’re left to wonder whom is absorbing the cost, and (as you mentioned) it’s the people. To me, that’s not a value proposition worth entertaining.
I completely agree with your assessment of Temu. However, just want to say that the 2nd fit with the cargo pants would definitely be popular here in Asia. I think oversized tends to look good on skinnier guys. Quite conveniently, it's much easier to basically make clothes like this way oversized and that way it'll sort of work for everyone, and you can get away with awful tolerance with sizing. This definitely doesn't work with western fashion, and western body types though. But I do think this is part of the reason oversized has been such an enduring trend for such a long time.
I really like buying craft items from Temu. I have bought other item. Some were crap but I did get refunded. I’m on a budget with 4 kids. It works for me. I try not to but the cheapest items. I find items that ship from Amazon through Temu at a cheaper price. Overall I like Temu.
Disagree that a watch like that is a knockoff. It's not pretending to be a Rolex. It has its own branding on it for people who like that design but aren't willing to spend an obscene amount of money on a luxury watch.
I don't think Temu is a manufacturer... the thing is when you look at many companies, they are just sourcing from Chinese factories to begin with, so they things for really cheap too and then just mark up. I have never bought from temu but I'm about to because I see an electronic repair kit for $12 that looks straight up identical to the one ifixit is selling for $70. But even if I don't buy from temu I could buy from other amazon sellers selling the kit at $30 or as low as $20. In the end all of them are just selling the same product that ifixit probably designed originally but now the chinese manufacturer just sells to anyone.
First of all I avoid online shopping at all costs! I love to go to a local shop, checking the quality, feeling the texture, seeing how a item fits..the thinking how to create outfits.. and of course a coffee.. Shopping this way satisfies, a great experience worth the extra penny.. The result is a smaller but good quality wardrobe without any chinese made crap.. Not to forget, it’s support of democratic countries who share the same values as I do.. thanks for sharing your opinions! 🇺🇸🇬🇧🇩🇪🇪🇺💪
When you bought it, did you make sure the stuff was cotton or you just bought it randomly? I am asking just to understand if they are scammers or just sold you what you ordered...
I searched for cotton, like "cotton tshirt" and "cotton socks", but it's very hard to tell from the product descriptions what materials are actually used. There are definitely some intentionally misleading descriptions, and some that aren't intentional, just confusing.
I haven't tried them yet, but it honestly seems like a gimmicky Shark Tank brand to me (although I guess now they have more than just the "dress collar" polos).
Be aware Temu no anymore cheap, whenever we ordered several items on Temu, Temu charges us for every item in our orders shipping costs, which are almost three times higher than the product cost if the product are located in local stores, well.... we can do better whenever we shop the same items for 1/3 of costs from any local store 🤔
cadisen makes decent watches for decent prices. but they are known for making what's known in the watch world as homages. the movement of those watches are usually seiko movements. so they're gonna be for sure reliable and basically bulletproof. as for the water resistance and the fit and finish, they're iffy sometimes. so just don't get them wet. take them to a watch maker and make sure they're tightly seaked on the crown and the movement cover. that's where it usually gets bad when it comes to water resistance. sometimes chinese makers forget to add grease or tighten the seals and stuff.
Just got my order from Temu. You're absolutely right. Everything is shiny and feels like the tissue you used in elementary school for art. Tried to talk to a rep. Never...always automated or email. Never again. I wish I had watched this video first.
Buying clothing online has only gone well for me once. And that was when I ordered from carhartt which is a brand I'm already familiar with the sizes of. Period. So making a review of temu, and only ordering clothing, is super pointless. Did you buy anything that can be universally used by any and all humans??? That would've made a lot more sense for a review video.
Temu is just like Amazon nowadays. If you consistently choose the abosulte cheapest stuff, you're obviously getting trash. But if you use a little bit of judgement, and buy stuff like tools and woodworking supplies, you're actually getting decent quality for the price. Not to mention that a lot of the stuff you buy on Temu is the same stuff they sell as cheap private label items here in Europe, for 3-4 times the price. Buying from Temu in that case is really just cutting out the middle man. That said, I would never buy clothing or electronics from there.
Installed the app. Mulled over purchases for a while. Hesitated simply because those adverts seem just TOO good to be true. Uninstalled the app after a close friend of my wife ordered a whole bundle of Temu stuff, and the results pretty much paralled this review. I think I'll stick to paying more and crying less.
I’ve unpicked external labels off items. Perhaps you could do that with the shorts. You have to dig deep to find good items. Always I return items that I’m not happy with. Sizing isn’t always accurate; I’ve found that too. Some materials are darn awful. But then I’ve found items I’m extremely happy with too.
Temus got some decent stuff. If you’re a guy who nitpicks stuff from the material to the exact fit Temus not for you because it’s not the highest quality in the world but you can get a decent pair of joggers or designer jeans, lotion, deodorant, boxers, ect. for dirt cheap and from my experience they’re decently comfortable not far off from most of the stuff you buy at JC Penny and H&M for triple the price.
Totally understand that everyone’s budgets are different, but fast fashion and brands like this are bad for the environment and let’s face it, the quality means it won’t last. Quality not quantity is easy enough if you take into account the preloved market. My wardrobe has improved over the last few years, but at little expense due to Vinted/EBay finds. Yes you can get some poor quality items there, but decent brands that have been looked after can be a bargain. Sadly it’s the trends and the world we are in. Glad you made this video
But on the plus side, they're forcing Amazon and Walmart to be cheaper on some things. Temu's all I can afford. Surprisingly, lots of their things are ready good.
That was great. Well done. I have generally tried to steer clear of products like this in the past, but have become much more adamant about it in the past couple years. Supporting companies like this to save money feels grimy. I have made much more effort to spend the money to buy quality clothing, and I’m trying to get my wife to do the same.
Amazing video! I would add one consideration, the customer may get screwed by buying clothing made from certain fabrics that lack transparency. Not all polyester is equal, and those treated with heavy and shady chemicals can be extremely damaging to your skin, lungs, and the people around you. Certifications like OEKO-TEX, GOTS, and bluesign, are here to protect us and the planet!
what you don't want to buy from temu are clothing and electronics. Other than that, some tools and disposables can be useful. Things that don't depend too on user's body profile like socks and containers can be safely bought from temu.
When is Shein review? I like the style of calmly dismantling that thing. Just the adverts scream SCAM. Like taking your card numbers and never sending you anything... I'm surprised you got stuff.
On the one hand you say "it is not capitalism's fault" and in the same breath also say these companies should not be allowed to exist. Capitalism allows people to sell whatever they want if it does not involve anything illegal. What did you find illegal in the way Temu does business? If you don't like products and think they are crap, you are free not to buy them (like me). But Temu has a right to exist and sell its products as long as they don't violate any laws. Just because the companies you channel aligns with loses business to Temu, that is no reason to ban Temu. You cannot define capitalism or free market the way it suits your interests.
If you actually watched the video and examined the screenshots I included, you'd know that Temu is more than willing to break laws by selling counterfeit goods, exploiting slave and child labor, ignoring health codes, etc. If you want to support that, go ahead, but I won't.
@@BrockMcGoff just another funny bit of information. I work in the anti-fraud and anti-money laundering analytics space, and happen to know that SHEIN is shopping for an anti-laundering transaction monitoring solution. I get the feeling it will find a lot of red flags.
Temu is good for household items like sponges, brushes or something simple that should be cheap like acrylic vinyl shelves where you may be charged $20 for on amazon you can get the same thing for $2 (how much it should cost to make). Anything else is rubbish
What is don't like about his review is that I feel like he's felt the "way to pleasing" to go back to "trash". I mean if you're wearing shirt from polo purple label you wouldn't want to get a polo assn shirt ever again right? especially with the price difference???
Jokes on you pal. Your 80 dollar baggie t-shirt doesn't look any better on you than the Temu one does. As for the clothes being stiff they all are till you wash them. Where was your 80 dollar t-shirt made?
Thank you, Brock! 😅 Today I downloaded Temu’s app and almost bought a shoe with it. But fortunately I have just watched your video and I’m deleting Temu’s app of my cell right now!
Well not bad for the price hahah What can you realy expect for a few dollars . I just made my first temu purchase . So we will see ,genuinely curious really . I ordered 3 hats and a egg thingy for 22$ lol
This is brutal and HILARIOUS!!! Please tell our president about this inflation…. Sometimes people are forced to buy these because they can’t afford the good stuff. Tissue clothes it is!!! If you put that box outside I GUARANTEE someone will get it and wear it proudly. 😂
Before watching this video, I was thinking about how to buy super cheap clothes and then tailor them to make look better... But this video gives no hope.
I understand your point absolutely regarding fashion even though it is not normal to buy an 80$ tshirt for an average guy. But you can also buy higher quality stuff like espresso machines that are very nicely produced and cost over 300-400 dollars instead of 1500$ and it is similar in quality (there are a lot of reviews on that). That makes people who don’t have much still consider getting something they want without paying a fortune.
I should've seen this from the start. I just bought 5 items. All were not as advertised and one was incorrect 😂. Like damn, at the very least be truthful but no. I'm waiting on another package 📦. I bet it will be the last one. Good news is all items will be used until they're rags. I give them 6 months 😐

Not all polyester is equal, and those treated with heavy and shady chemicals can be extremely damaging to your skin, lungs, and the people around you. Certifications like OEKO-TEX, GOTS, and bluesign, are here to protect us and the planet!
Great point, thanks for sharing that! I'm sure it's the same for their other products, especially anything with potential lead.
what you don't want to buy from temu are clothing and electronics.
Other than that, some tools and disposables can be useful.
Things that don't depend too on user's body profile like socks and containers can be safely bought from temu.
Never been a fan of fast fashion, but now I certainly won’t give my money to these organizations.
The ad that came on in middle of the video was a shein ad 😂
When is Shein review?
I like the style of calmly dismantling that thing. Just the adverts scream SCAM. Like taking your card numbers and never sending you anything... I'm surprised you got stuff.
Honestly Man U didn’t look bad in any of the outfits imo.
Great job, Brock, as always!! 😏
Thanks, Scott!
@@BrockMcGoff Always, Sir!
I always see Temu ads, but something always felt off with them. This company makes no sense.
Thank you Brock.
Thank you for watching!
@7:38... Savage.😎
Never been a fan of their clothing, although I've bought a few hats I'm happy with. I've been happy with some of their non-clothing items.
If you haven't seen it, you need to watch the SNL "Fast Fashion Ad" parody. "Xiemu"
Gonna watch it now...
Edit: that's so spot on 😂
@@BrockMcGoff just another funny bit of information. I work in the anti-fraud and anti-money laundering analytics space, and happen to know that SHEIN is shopping for an anti-laundering transaction monitoring solution. I get the feeling it will find a lot of red flags.
I liked the second look 💁
Looks decent, feels terrible 😢
@@BrockMcGoff understandable
freedon way 💀
Bro is sponsored by amazon
I dont know why temu is a thing for the planet, its just another AliExpress and wish clone 😂
Thank you for your honest review.
Its funny cause almost all the products have 4/5 stars lol
On point Brock. The same of view 😂
dude....need to see you reviewing some more swim ware!
Thank you, Brock! 😅
Today I downloaded Temu’s app and almost bought a shoe with it. But fortunately I have just watched your video and I’m deleting Temu’s app of my cell right now!
Thanks, much appreciated the informative video, I hope more men's style enthusiasts shine a light on this subject!
i like knockoff its cheap and i dont think its the reel thing and i enjoy the time it last
Never heard of that brand before.
No? They had a viral Super Bowl commercial a few months ago.
I'm late to the party, but this is your best video.
Well not bad for the price hahah
What can you realy expect for a few dollars .
Hysterical.
Not sponsored…. Has Temu sponsored banner under video😅
Funny how they're buying ads on this video. So I guess, technically, I am making money off Temu 🤦🏻♂️
I just watched the snl sketch from snl, and this is sadly accurate😮
Love this video! I always assumed this company was a scam.
