Hawaii is excited to welcome back visitors once again and invites you to reconnect with the Islands its people, culture, and home safely and responsibly. During your visit, please be sure to exhibit on-island behaviors that are environmentally responsible and culturally sensitive, to help preserve Hawaii’s natural resources and wildlife. Consider signing the Pono Pledge, a joint effort between the Island of Hawaii Visitors Bureau and the County of Hawaii, providing everyone with brief reminders on how to respectfully conduct yourself while safely enjoying all of the island’s splendor. In addition, travelers should always wear a facial covering in public and practice other public health safe practices like physical distancing and good hygiene.

Hawaii Travel Update:
As of now, Hawaii has a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all visitors. Incoming out-of-state travelers have the option to bypass the state’s strict self-quarantine by producing a negative Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) result from Hawaii’s trusted testing and travel partners taken 72 hours prior to departure. Only tests from the trusted partners will be valid. You’re responsible for the cost of the test. If you have a multi-city flight itinerary, the departure time is from the last city you leave before arriving at a Hawaii airport. All incoming travelers are required to have their temperatures checked upon arrival and must complete a health questionnaire using the Safe Travels online program before they can leave the airport. Travelers are encouraged to enter their information and trip details well in advance of their flight.

Post-Arrival Testing on the Island of Hawaii:
Upon arrival to the island of Hawaii, all travelers are required to take a mandatory County administered Covid-19 antigen test at the airport. The cost of the rapid Covid-19 arrival test will be borne by Hawaii County. Results are expected to take 15-20 minutes after taking the antigen test but please note you may experience delay and the anticipated time may be extended.
