Honestly one of the most emotional performances I’ve seen with this show. Her smile when she realizes who’s holding her in her final moments and he returns the smile despite the fear he’s feeling at the beginning, to their tender last kiss just breaks my heart every time 😭

No matter how many times i see this performance i cant help but cry. It doesn't help that the love of my life is in the Philippines and i cant get to her because of Covid 19 travel bans.
And the other sad thing is that Christ never knew how much Kim went through to raise and protect Tam, and that even in the end, Christ could not save and protect Kim, too! How tragic, sad, indeed! However, the sight of Tam being held by Ellen in the end makes me feel hopeful that Kim's presence and memory will forever be a part of Chris and Ellen's life! I still cry every time I see this particular ending though. 😢😭

2021 but i still crying watching this episode😭😭 shes been through a lot waiting for him to comeback and rescued her, even killing the man who wants to marry her just to protect her son but only to find out that Chris is married again and the saddest reality is that Chris choosing his new wife over kim.
I cried so hard I can't explain it. The only broadway show I actually CRY cry not just tearing up.

One of the most tragic musicals ever. The emotion this musical brings out. I’ve seen it so many times on stage and I know what happens but cry every single time, not at just this scene but almost the entire time from the beginning all the way to the final curtain. Just a beautiful music with important history.

No other actor, who has played Chris' role in Miss Saigon, has ever delivered a more realistic and heartbreaking scream at the ending than Will Chase. Delivery is everything. Bravo!
She sacrifice and killed herself for her son so that his son has a good Life with his father what a Mother's Love😭 it's because she already knows that Chris wife can't accept her husband illegitimate son the only way she thinks is if she's died Chris don't have a choice is to accept his son..

I’m a fan not only of Ms. Lea Salonga but the whole cast of Miss Saigon. I was one of the audience clapping during the finale of the show. Blessed to experience the feel of watching it in CCP.
2021 and still at awe at the talents of everyone in the cast.

Oh my..this scene 💔! Miss Saigon 1989 is everything.
Being an opera fan all my life I think I avoided this because I was always told it was the same as Madama Butterfly. In other words if you’ve seen that then you’ve seen this. and yes it is but it’s also not, a premise can obviously be repeated and still be beautiful and heartbreaking, this happens all the time in life and art so i did a huge disservice in avoiding this. Happy and sad that I finally get it and finally understand the beautiful talent here. 💔🎶

Something similar happened to my great, great, grandparents. Except it was in the Philippines.
My great, great, grandfather was an american soldier in WW2 and married my great great Lola, they had a son (my great Lolo) but American grandfather had to later leave for America. He promised to come back and take his new family back to the states with him. At first my great great grandmother was excited, until her neighbors (who were jealous) told her that she would be treated like a slave in the USA and that she would be trash over there. She sadly believed them and hid herself and her son so that when my great, great grandpa did return to the Philippines they were now where to be found. The poor man was heartbroken, not sure what happened to him afterwards. 💔

I'm afraid he never did... my mom came to the States when she was 17, (almost 40yrs later) so we dont know what happened to him after either. :(

If there’s any part of this scene that has any bit of hope, it’s The Engineer protecting Tam from a horrible sight. He’s by no means a good person. But at least he cares about Tam enough to try to protect him.

I could never see this in person, I would be a complete train wreck, it would be too embarrassing! I have that ugly cry, and even though this is hands-down, the most emotional performance I’ve ever seen in a musical, my heart breaks, because I faced almost an identical loss. I’m gay, and my husband when I was 20, we were soulmates, we could finish each other sentences. Our love for each other was so deep, I have never felt anything like it in my life, never having to say a word to each other, just being next to each other was enough. We were actually coming out of seeing the phantom here in Toronto, we had parked the car behind the theatre in a darker part of the street, when some thug held a gun to our heads and demanded the car keys. My husband was a black belt, and wasn’t going to stand for this person threatening us. What he didn’t know, and what I didn’t know was, he had an accomplice, hiding in the shadows, who shot my husband straight in the chest, and, like the cowards they were, ran away into the night. I was screaming at the top of my lungs for help (there were no cell phones back then), I held my husband in my arms as he took his last breath. The paramedics got there five minutes too late. His heart was destroyed by the bullet. I tried desperately to do CPR, but to no avail, he was gone, the only man that I ever truly loved that deeply was gone forever, and for the longest time I wanted to go with him. I could not face my life without him, and that memory holding him as he lay dying in my arms, looking at me and whispering “I’ll always love you“, being the last thing he ever said before he died, haunts me every single day of my life. This happened almost 40 years ago, but it’s still fresh in my mind. I had to be hospitalized in the psychiatric ward for almost a year, and was put on suicide watch for another year. It completely destroyed my life. But the worst is yet to come, the police caught these two SOB’s, 20 year old, illegal Jamaican immigrants part of a gang, they had to kill someone to get into the gang as an initiation ceremony. I gladly would’ve taken that bullet in my chest instead, but my wonderful Sam pushed me out of the way, thinking he was going to save me. The trial went on for weeks, so I had to sit there and stare at the faces of his killers, it drove me to the point of madness. They had to physically restrain me, because more than once I jumped over the bench and managed to give both of them a blackeye knocking them both to the ground before they could catch me and pull me back. I did not want to be in that court room, but the law forced me to. The judge was very compassionate, telling me he understood why I jumped over the bench and attacked my husband’s killers. In confidence, he told me, he would do the same thing. For the rest of the trial, I was literally physically restrained, because they knew I wanted vengeance for taking away the only person that I ever loved, and ever will love that deeply. They were both charged with first-degree murder, and were sentenced to life in prison with no parole (I wish we had the death penalty here, because that’s what they deserved! Animals!). That’s some small consolation, but nothing will ever bring back my baby. I’m sorry, I know this is not what you were expecting to read, the video just popped up in my newsfeed, but that last scene just devastated me. I can’t even see my screen right now, because it’s brought back every emotion I felt that night 40 years ago, and I don’t want to be here. I never found another husband, I couldn’t, I’d feel like I was betraying him if I did. Besides, once you found your soulmate and lost him, I don’t think I could ever love that way again. Again, I’m sorry for bringing this up, but I can’t help it. This production is far too close to my reality, I hope I never see it in my newsfeed again. For those of you who have found your soulmate and still have each other, do me a favor, hold onto them tightly, and never let me go. I would never wish this torment and torture for life on anybody. Frankly, I’m amazed, I haven’t killed myself, although I have tried several times, my family keeps close eye on me, but I see no point of living without Sam. He was literally my everything, and without him, I’m absolutely nothing, I’m hollow, empty, and heartbroken for all eternity, at least, in this mortal world, I hope that is soon changed. I can’t take it anymore. Whoever said grown men don’t cry didn’t know what they were talking about, because I still cry myself to sleep almost every night. No amount of medication‘s on earth can take away this pain, it just turns you into a zombie, but a zombie that can feel a lot of pain. Cherish the people you love, never take anything for granted, and for God sake, don’t ever take chances if you run into a situation like we did, it’s not worth it!!! You can buy another car, but you can’t buy another life...😰😰😰😰😰😰😰

I don't like this downer ending, that loosely follows the ending of Madam Butterfly. The 'movie in my mind' that I have for Act Two is that after finding out that Kim is alive, he confesses everything to Ellen about happened in Saigon, and implores her to let him go to Bangkok alone (Suggested lyrics: This is the secret I have kept all this time. I did not forget that dreadful Saigon night. Please, let me go to her. I have a second chance, to set things right.) Ellen agrees. In Bangkok, Chris meets with Kim and agrees to take Tam back to America. They both know that Kim cannot go to America with them, but they must both do right by Tam. Fast forward 20 years to 1998, when Vietnam and the States have friendlier relations, and Kim visits Chris and Tam in America. Tam is now 23 years old, and is a successful artist, and is soon to be married to a woman he loves very much. He does not remember Kim, but promises that he will maintain contact. Kim is happy that her son has been well provided for by Chris and Ellen, and has a happy life. THE END. I would prefer it if Kim survived until the end of the story, and Chris doesn't have to get traumatised all over again. Please and thank you.

I just watched the Manila staging of this. I had prior knowledge of what is the idea that revolves around Miss Saigon.. but I did not know the finale where she would shoot herself, so when we watched it was truly tragic!! This and "I'd Give My Life for You" was the parts that made me emotional, to the point I sort of hated Ellen haha
