Looks amazing. Would definitely pick up an Elantra N. Love the direction Hyundai has been headed. No more boring rental-looking cars. They've come such a long way with their design and quality since the days when I had a 2003 Tiburon.
I test drove a 2021 Toyota Camry and that car is noisy...I test drove the 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL and it is much quieter and the seats are more comfortable, across the entire Toyota line up the head rests are too aggressive and makes the seating position uncomfortable, so I'm going to pass on a Toyota and get me a Hyundai Elantra.
I think you need to change the LKA to active so it'll stay mid lane better. If it's just on the normal mode it likes to only correct when it gets to the edge, maybe that could be the issue?
If you add the Hybrid option to the Limited trim, you also get fully independent rear suspension, a 6 speed dual clutch computer shifted transmission replacing the CVT, and a peppy electric motor which really launches the Elantra off the line. You also get 50+ MPG; and those fuel savings not only pay for the Hybrid option, they really lower total cost of ownership. I love mine!
Wow Hyundai has changed so much. I remember back in the day ppl would laugh at you for owning a Hyundai. Now everyone wants to have one! Love this new look ! Very eye catching and that’s something I love
Hyundai most be doing something right. I just traded in my Rav4 for a Kona Luxury (Canadian) and if the N is able to keep its weight down, I might also trade my GenX 6MT Civic. However, GR86 might keep me in the fold...
I'm an owner of a 2022 elantra. Nice thing in Canada is we can get the base model with a manual transmission. It shifts very smoothly and the clutch is rather forgiving. It's still not broke in but the fuel economy is amazing. According to the cars computer, it's getting approx 46 mpg (5.1 L/100km). But then, I don't drive like a maniac lol. So far it is a great second vehicle / daily runner, so I can save my truck for truck stuff.
Lane keep assist will bounce you back and forth but lane follow assist will keep you centered, did you have that activated too? Lane follow assist works at low speeds too and works great!
My 3 week old 2023 Elantra SEL started alarming Forward Collison assist warning and radar blocked after 500 miles. There is nothing obviously blocking either camera. The dealership won't agree to look at the car for another 3.5 weeks. I have to be in driving and the alarm starts at 0.5 miles. every time. I then have to go into the touchscreen and disable the FCA while I am driving. This is beyond unacceptable in a car brand new car that promotes technology as a star feature!
test drove the 2021 Civic and found that the steering wheel is not centered to the driver, it is offset to the left a bit...found that odd and reminds me of the Renault Alliance...which was not a good car.
I had a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer with a CVT for ten years. I didn't mind that it didn't have fake shifts. In fact, fake shifts on a CVT are kind of stupid and unnecessary. They're "continuously variable". Why add something that's basically a placebo to make it seem like a standard automatic? Makes no sense.
Hey Matt why not talk about the tech under the hood? Electric water pump? Multi timed warm up blend doors for the cooling system? Heated thermostat? Multi injected? How does the variable valve timing work?
Honestly, I don't know much about that stuff haha. I also try to keep the videos a reasonable length and hit on most of the topics the average consumer cares about so that I don't lose people's interest too much.
@@MattMaranMotoring I'm half razzin ya matt. I know you're not a master tech. For me I like to know a little more about what I'll be facing down the road in mechanical repairs due to complexity. These things are getting SO complicated it's literally scary.
Hyundai seems to have had so many problems with their engines over the last couple years I'm a little gun-shy about getting this smartstream engine what do you guys think
The 2015 Sonata doesn't have highway drive assist though, only regular adaptive cruise. I have no problems with the main adaptive cruise system, just the steering part of these newer systems.
I have the rattling issue with my 21 elantra. Did you ever find out what was causing it. It is driving us crazy and starting to make us question if we should have gotten something else.
I was hearing something today when backing out of my driveway, kind of a noise, not sure if it's same thing, almost sounded like muffler subtly rattling.
Hyundai seen how well the fastback civic sold so they thought, let's copy there styling but add some creases and hope we can eat into there 300,000 units sold yearly.
Matt says "Let me know your thoughts".....so here goes.....This press vehicle has California plates.....front grille kind of strange to me......Tail lights, back design very nice; ...... 3:59, "hit the start button, and it starts right up" (signature statement by Matt),...the bald trees in the background are a little depressing even though they only look dead, but are not. In this segment, I like the Civic and Sentra and Mazda 3. Thank you Matt for another great review from your fan, Jazz.
I saw one the other day on the road. It actually doesnt look that bad in person...My only exterior concern would be if i owned one the Shiny plastic lower portion on the front bumper...if you get alot of bug splatters or rock chips it will look bad over time and the Creases when waxing it..some types of wax is hard to remove over sharp deep creases.
A solid entry in this segment, but I personally find it to be overstyled and I’d want an entry in this segment that’s more fun to drive. Not the compact sedan for me, but I can see how it would be for many other buyers.
hard not to not like Design, unlike classical Audi designs that last bet it'll date in milliseconds, no hate, I respect Hyundai for this design, though do worry
I like the continuous rear light very much; it's far more futuristic than anything in this price range. Very comprehensive review Matt, thank you for being so personable and informative.
Those "shifts" completely defeat the purpose of the CVT. I've never understood it. My wife's Spark does it and it's just stupid as hell. It's slower doing that too.
After that would mind reviewing a 2000 Buick LeSabre? I just purchased one & I love it! Only has 115,000 miles & in great condition! That 3800 V6 series engine rocks!
I'm thinking the same sting. But I actually LIKE the look lol. So I'm going this Tuesday to pick mine up. I have a sneaking suspicion that the crease lines will be done away with, possibly in the 2022's. But most definitely by the 2023's. General rule that my experience tells me will happen, if I like something it gets discontinued lmao.
@@1tokeover I'm not complaining about cheap shit box prices lmao. I said people buy these cars for economical reasons but parts are outrageous because they always change the design. My buddy has Genesis coupe he paid like $600+ for control arm.

Smart of Hyundai to continue the Elantra since it is one of the most important vehicles in Hyundai’s lineup.

The interior is the best in its class!
I'm torn between this and the k5 😩
What did you end up getting? I see a lot more K5’s on the road than Elantra... K5 seems like a toy car to me Elantra is a little more elegant.
yeah i’d rather spec up the elantra than get a base k5

That exterior is a little too busy for my liking. Way too many creases on the doors.
That zorro imprint on the doors is a turn off but everything else looks really good
