      2021 Elantra Limited is not good value for money. Limited costs over 26K before taxes and fees and yet has only 147 HP, cheap semi-independent suspension, no damped glovebox, and only driver's side window has one touch. Base Corolla L costs 20K and has fully independent suspension, one touch on all 4 windows, and a damped glovebox.

    • @cjsgamingworld7568
      @cjsgamingworld7568 4 года назад +4

      @@braetonwilson4296 It’s a good value for the features you get at the Limited, and the features you listed on the base Corolla are irrelevant to most people especially those who shop for base trim compact sedans. The Elantra SE has better safety tech like Lane centering and Hyundai’s advanced Blind Spot/Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist technologies than the Corolla L. Now, I agree LED headlights should be standard but that’s the only edge the Corolla has over the Elantra.

    • @braetonwilson4296
      @braetonwilson4296 4 года назад +4

      @@cjsgamingworld7568 Corolla L also has lane centering, it's standard on all trims. You're wrong, LED lights is not the only edge that Corolla has over 2021 Elantra.
      Multi-link independent rear suspension makes a huge difference to handling and ride quality and Corolla has that in all trims and Elantra doesn't, not even Elantra Limited has IRS. Corolla SE, which is still a lot cheaper than Elantra Limited, has 22 more horsepower than Elantra Limited.
      Corolla sport trims have a physical first gear in their CVT, improving reliability and off the line acceleration. 2021 Elantra doesn't have that. Corolla has several pluses over Elantra.

Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infinity and Acura were known for the best safety and luxury features but nowadays, ‘economy cars’ have all those features for a quarter of the money. Even the interior space is the same or better. Then you add great gas mileage and warranty, buying luxury brands is overrated.

    • @MichaelBuckley284
      @MichaelBuckley284 3 года назад +1

      The limited trim does have it. However, if you want to stay a bit below that budget and get many of the same features you can get the SEL trim w/convenience package (~$900 more than base SEL) which adds the radar module to the vehicle allowing for stop and go adaptive cruise control and cyclist/junction avoidance to the pedestrian avoidance that the base trim has. It doesn't have full HDA (i.e. automatic speed limit changing, etc.) which my folk's Limited Palisade has, but it has many of the core features (lane following assist, stop & go cruise control). So it comes down to whether the cost of the limited (and all else it includes) is worth it for the full HDA or whether you want to save a few thousand and go with a nearly complete HDA system (again the only significant difference between driving the two systems is the auto-speed limit change on the HDA from my experience)

      @MichaelBuckley284 3 года назад

      @@R56Cooper This is where it gets a bit more tricky. I have found that the HDA equipped Palisade does better at handling sharper curves, but will pass it off to you if it is more than a light bend in the road. Now, whether this is attributable to HDA, or in my suspicion, more likely due to fact that the camera module that reads the lanes is higher up in an suv than a sedan, is anyone's guess. But, where I think it matters most, that being long stretches of straight road with mild bends it does a great job of keeping you centered! For both HDA or lane keeping assist options. To note, the ideal way to take a curve (using the apex of a curve) is not something that either system will do well, it's going to feel a bit less controlled than if you took the curve yourself, but not horribly so. But since you deal with sharp curves not nearly as often as straight stretches of highway, I don't think it is that much of a chore to navigate those yourself and let the system handle the rest. Both systems do their chief task of making driving long stretches more enjoyable

    The new Elantra looks sleek, but there are a lot of obvious cost cutting details (not all windows automatic, cheap cloth box, no air vents in the backseat) which make the hole car less attractive as it seems in the first place. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to the sibling i30 which we will get in a few years in Europe. Compared to the new Elantra, the current i30 looks outdated inside.

    • @jraheemjefcoat429

      They cost cut in the US Market. In Korea, they do offer rear vents and heated rear seats in the new Elantra (called Avante in Korea). Which was first offered in the 5th generation Elantra. They did the same thing to the Kia K5. We get analog dash and tradition shifter. While the Korean market gets the full digital dash and rotary shift knob. It's all a marketing strategy to keep the cars affordable for the US market.
