I am a welder and my advice is keep at it and I wouldn’t weave like at all the less you weave the cleaner and more penetration your weld will have a lot of schools will tell you to weave but in the real world less weave is better but most importantly keep practicing!!
I am no expert but have done a little spool gun welding. You should try pushing your weld instead of pulling it. It helps gas coverage. In addition, rather than cutting off the extra wire you can just wrap it around the nozzle. It seems to smooth out the initiation of the arc. Thanks for the video. I have a 210MP but do not like it as well as my older transformer units. Much easier to transport though.
I’ve only had the 210mp for a short time now. I kind of wanted a welder that was mid size . That’s why I got it. With the adapter I made I can plug it into a 240v 20amp socket. One thing about the inverter welders is they don’t draw very many amps. It only draws 15 amps turned all the way up. My Transformer welders have lasted many years without any problems. Not sure how long these inverter based welders hold up.
You should be pushing that weld to give the gas time to clean before the arc hits the metal. Dragging gives no ability for the gas flow to pre-clean the area.
Nice spool gun you got there. I've never used one, but I am looking forward to try. Since, I already have the welder (HOBART 210), I want to go for it. Thank you for sharing and take care my friend.👍
I've was using Tig but ran into a bunch of issues with my old dirty aluminum and cast aluminum. Decided to buy a spool gun. So much better and faster for cast or old aluminum.
This is the first time I’ve ever had a spool gun. I want to get an inverter based tig welder. My Lincoln tig welder is big. Welders have really gone up in price.

@1970chevelle396 your supposed to have a 40 pr 50 amp 240 outlet for that machine or it runs on 20 amp breaker for 120
@@trevorstrutt1 It only draws 15 amps at 240 volts

That was the first time I tried it out. Most of the time I tig weld aluminum.

Not bad! If you preheat the aluminum it will look a lot better too!!

Nice setup Ken, that spool gun is a handy way to do a little aluminum welding in the shop .
Thanks
Thanks for the video!
Thanks
Helpful. Thanks.
Thanks
Where do you get the switch ?
Hey man thanks for the video 👍
Thanks
How do you find this spool gun? Work good ? Is it worth the money ? Thanks great video
Yes it works good. Definitely worth the money.
👍👍
7:27 wow that really spatters ehh. Is the spool feed speed controllable with the trigger?
Yes it does spatter more. . The wire speed is controlled on the welder the same as using it without the spool gun.
Work the angle forward:the seam will be soot-free and high-quality.Turn up the speed.
Apa bisa spool gun di aplikasi kan di mesin las tig
😍
Интересно!!! 👌 👌 👌
Will it fit a LN25 suit case I wonder ?
You would have to go on Lincoln Electric’s website and see if it works for your welder
