this is coming from someone who actually worked as a former AAA 3d Artists who changed career into a Full Stack Software development, and really passionate about Graphics programming in Vulkan & OpenGl, Tinkering with Hardware code as well
Although there are a lot of Programming involved in Game Development,
don't underestimate 3D Artists jobs,
it's crazy hard for someone to be able to reach AAA level,
3d artists tools and software are also way more complex.
programming is very hard at the beginning, but, the peak is not as hard as being a AAA 3d Artists which require a Very deep understanding and emulating the surface, skin, anatomy, light, color science, material.
and even then
sometimes you just have to write Glsl shader code yourself to get what you want
it's very hard to create a pixel that look indistinguishable from real human,
any gap in knowledge will result in your character look like a fake human
other stuff like rigging, particle, simulation, and Animation are also very hard as well

I agree that AI images can be usefull as a tool, but to me people who make purely generated images and call themselves "AI artist" are the same kind of people who think they are chefs because they bought a pre-made meal and put it in the microwave. Its pathetic and makes no sense at all when they show off their "artistic skills" and even have the guts to say "you could never do this" when THEY themselves could never because they need a machine to do it for them.

@@TheNPC_Heck, there’s actually examples of that in the industry. Across the Spiderverse used their own art and concept sketches to train an AI to fill in minor details and interstitial frames. It helped save time with light work, let artists direct their effort to refining and improving major details, and they didn’t try to “replace” any artists in the process. That is, to me, a perfect example of ethical use of AI.

This reminds me of the Rush E incident. Guy made a video of him attempting to play Rush E, which is a piano piece made in software that is literally impossible for a human to play correctly. A guy commented under it saying that it was pretty mid, and a bunch of people responded saying he couldn't do any better and if he could then to prove it. And then he actually did, and it was better.
