Vivid fall colors are just majestic looking. Them maple trees had turned a beautiful orangiah red color. Fall in northeast Tennessee and western north caroliba is also very spectacular colors.
When I go back home to visit with my dad in northeast Tennessee for Thanksgiving this fall I might take 2 weeks of vacation and go hiking up in the smokey or go hiking up by sams gap or Erwin,tn over towards Roan Mountain and come back into Watauga lake and laurel falls area.

How often would you say you guys stop for meals in a day while through hiking? I'm just curious, obviously y'all are burning so many calories day after day that your body needs it. Thank you! :)

Love how you improve on your basic bag dinner by adding other things like cheese crackers. Are you gonna try that at home too?

That shot of you zooming in on the mileage left to Katahdin, I felt that. I'm watching this journey almost 3 years after you did it, but I'm stoked for you just as I would be if I was watching this take place in progress like your CDT hike.

Love those stone staircases on the AT! Built by the volunteers and when you come across them feel like woodland trolls have been out and about building trails. And I'm sure you know you are very lucky not to be walking in slush/snow.

Hi again! This is one epic hike for sure as I love the way you video it. When you are panning you do it at such a nice speed nothing is blurred so we can enjoy the beautiful scenery as nature wants us to see it. Your voice and tone just ups it a notch also. I wish this hike would never end! Thank you so much!!

Hey Kelly, I always enjoy your videos and I love to see the different kinds of food you bring and eat. I find that when I backpack I lose my apatite and don't feel hungry. I bring way too much food because I don't eat enough of it. I would imagine that if I hiked as many miles as you are that I would get more hungry and from watching your videos i will know what to bring. Thanks

Mike, you nailed it here. That's exactly what happens. First few days, before your body gets used to a long distance hike, you do feel like crap and the last thing you want to do is eat. It tapers off after about a week but I would say for me, it's at about two weeks when hiker hunger really begins to kick in. At that point, you could eat anything on the trail or in your backpack for the rest of the way. And if you don't, hiker hunger turns into hiker "hanger." That can get ugly! LOL.

This day definitely had a bit of a melancholy feel to it. Like you’re all tired and ready to be done but not ready at the same time. Sort of like peacefully saying goodbye to the trail one mile at a time.

Getting to Shaw's last couple days was cheerful, still on the trail, tomorrow's another day stuff, I think she kinda spooked herself w/the voice over in 161 (in 160 she's say "It's the end, then corrects herself "It's the beginning of the end ...I heard the big "click" sound go off there) and all the last this, last that comments. Yeah, kinda melancholy. There is a point where you just have to finish it, no doddering any more.

As the world turns: the seasons seem to march invisibly until the trees start to color…so beautiful, so melancholy, so fragrant and thrilling;g.I envy your March in the concluding days so close so tentative in the completion of your adventure. I’m thrilled for you and your fellow travelers.

Hey Kelly! “Act natural” 😂 Toasty is my kinda dude, I hope he’s doing well. Today’s video had such a chill and peaceful vibe to it, beautiful sights and sounds. I love those Dukes sausages! That was a perfect first lunch! Second lunch? Tuna and cheese its? hell NAW!!! You guys really crushed some miles today, well done. When you gotta make your flight what else can you do. 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well.
