@@IrenesCuriousAdventures It might be a little hot today to get my bootie in the spring, but late fall early winter is the best!

Growing up in Bakersfield, Remington and Delonegha on 178 just east of the first fwy bridge - blown up by cops often, were hangouts year round. I didn't hear any mention of western diamondback rattlesnakes and over the years while it was legal to harvest for product creation, I caught 3 six foot plus and numerous 2, 3 and 4 footers there. It was a shock to see wide trails and guard rails n such. Things sure have changed. Anyway Nice video and folks do mind the current and keep an eye out for rattlers as they like to sun stretched out and you might mistake them for a stick across the trail and get a nasty surprise.

I was just reading about Miracle Hot Springs being closed and thought this might be the same place but it’s not. I have to check it out! Miracle Hot Springs was closed because dead bodies were being found there. This is just 4 mins from Miracle Hot Springs.

Yea, had never been to the Miracle Hot Springs either. Had heard it closed too.

    Kudos for all the information.
There are some awesome pools and rock formations downstream from Lake Isabella, unfortunatly, every time we have been there they are trashed out.
This reminds me of the time we were at the ;chain up' area on hwy-155 letting our red hot brakes cool off and having a bit eat while viewing the star filled night sky and watching the jet fighters dog fighting overhead when my son called out..." look at that dad". Over Lake Isabella was a long cylindrical cigar like object with several(5?) big windows brightly lighted and moving quietly east rather slowly. It left us perplexed as to what it was. It certainly wasn't a known aircraft of our making. So mesmerized was I, that I didn't think of my camera and 500mm lens until it was well out of sight.

When I lived in kernville they were blasting sections of rock out to build the new highway. Nearly all of my trips in the canyon are on the old road. We rolled a 1949 Ford truck once in the old canyon road. Not a good experience.

Wow! Thanks for sharing - when I was driving on it I just couldn't believe that was the road regularly used!
