The Sun Crusher I pictured in my head when I was reading those books was way cooler than the apparent canon appearance. That thing just looks goofy. It's like an armored ice cream cone with a satellite dish on the bottom point.
I had this vision in my head of a sleek, sharp-edged starfighter with like torpedo tubes in the sides.....nope we get the stupid snow cone of plot convenience
Well, they went full Cold War on the doomsday devices :D It's like in the 50's/60's with nukes on nearly everything that could be fired (AA nukes, man-portable nuke missiles, Dyna-Soar etc...), or in the early 80's (SDI, soviet weaponised shuttles, Soviet R36M2 Voevoda ICBM - also known as SS-18 mod 5 Satan in the west, train/truck-based ICBMs, or whatever that is still classified)
To be fair, the Sun Crusher's resonant torpedoes weren't all that powerful by themselves. However, their ability to destabilize and initiate a supernova in stars is what's truly terrifying.
Legends writers: what should we write for the plot of our new book for the EU Legends writers: how about another Imperial super weapon? (times a lot) An occasional super weapon is pretty cool, but they had way too many that it got old quick
it wasnt really a flaw though, the exhaust port, its 2m in diameter, and a straight pipe all the way down. Like, Luke is the only person who could have done it. think about it, a 2m hole, where the projectile would have to go 90 degrees down and stay that exact angle perfectly. the death stars only flaw was they forgot about jedi, because they were supposed to be extinct.
There are multiple exhaust ports so i doubt all the energy would go through that one port, and this is hinted at and proven in the movie. "A small exhaust port right below the main port" key words are "A;" instead of The, hinting at multple smaller ports, and "Main Port;" there is a huge main exhaust port larger than an ISD if not large enough to fit the executor class in it at the north pole of the station. Which means that most of the thermal energy would be going through the large exhaust port, likely meaning that the smaller ports are secondaries. It could also be explained that only one of the small exhaust ports went directly to the core, as the movie said "A small thermal exhaust port," instead of "Some small thermal exhaust ports." as the first message only mentions a single exhaust port being vunurable while hinting at others that weren't problems.
I did not read the books. But it could have wipe out a star system. It was very powerful to destroy. As he said. They have to throw that thing in A black hole. Well I think it could have taken out a galaxy if there were multiple sun crushers.
Kyp Durron stole it from the Maw Installation before the Empire could use it themselves, and used it against them in several rogue attacks in an effort to get revenge for what the Empire had done to him and his family. So no, the Empire never used it themselves.
The suncrusher is the most powerful, definitely, but at the cost of losing the mass resources that go along with a star system left relatively intact. The World Devastator could be better in that it takes and recycles as it destroys into the Imperial war machine. A suncrusher just literally obliterates where a devastator repurposes.
Seems like a bad idea. I'm assuming that it would take the place of the Executor and in that case you'd have two super lasers firing back and forth at a small fleet in between and with star war's accuracy record one of them is bound to miss the rebels
The Death Star II really should have been ahead of the Death Star I. It could fire way more rapidly, its laser was probably more powerful, and its diameter was more than seven times larger than the I's. More than makes up for the exposed interior in my opinion. Just stick an Imperial or a Victory in front of the handful of access points and you're fine.
+jellyfishdenovo1010 1, the 2 was not more than 7 times as large as the 1 XD not even 2 times as large as the DS 1 was 60km in Diameter and the DS 2 was like 100km in Diameter. All of that is very very unnimpressive when you look at the Mantle's Approach from halo which was a small vessel for the forerunners and it was 360km tall and 60km thick.
+jellfishdenovo1010 1, stop pulling shit from your ass and sorry the first was 160km ( I read that wrong) and the DS2 was 200 XD still smaller and again the point being that they are not viable superweapons and are pretty damned small and very much weaker than even the standard forerunner battleship so they should not be ranked high on any list and are weak and wasteful even by star wars standards.
Thyre Radim I'm not BSing. A quick search did show that the second Death Star's size is disputed, but I'd like to note that according to ILM, the visual effects company that has worked extensively with Lucasfilm on Star Wars, the 900km estimate is more accurate. The size of Forerunner ships is still completely irrelevant since I'm talking about a list that only features Star Wars material, and only two items on the list at that.
+jellyfishdenovo1010 1, no the size is not disputed lol here is a link *starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Death_Star_II* that shows it's 200km oh and the forerunner argument thing was for another comment stream so ignore it.
Could you do a galactic versus of the Empire vs the Wraith from Stargate Atlantis?? i think it could be interesting seing as the wraith have powers similar to the force and they also beat the ancients.
Please bring back starship versus I've got some suggestions MC75 cruiser vs Secutor star destroyer Mandator IV dreadnought vs assertor/executor super star destroyer Dp20 frigate vs Brahatok gunship Rebel alliance fleet at Scarif vs Plo Koons fleet against the Malevolence Thrawns fleet at Attalon vs CIS Fleet at Kamino 10th try love your content

Palpatine: "I'm feeling the need for another superweapon." "Yes, Your Eminence. What shall it be? A new Death Star? The largest Star Destroyer ever built? A space station that can destroy planets half a galaxy away?" Palpatine: *"P O T A T O"*
With the devastaors palpatine knew that a warlord with only one devastaor could rapidly make a war fleet so he made them all on one computer so they could not be stolen or capured, so I don't think it was a mistake
+Jay, the Eclipse fires at the UNSC Infinity from halo, Infinity dodges it because forerunner technology and built in AI and then fires supermacs at the Eclipse which in turn tears through the entire ship splitting it in half.
Thyre Radim the supermacs would do damage to the eclipse, but it would take multiple shots to destroy it, as the armor and shielding made it nearly indestructible
VF-1s Valkyrie variable fighter from SDF Macross (not Robotech) vs the Union over Flag from Gundam 00. Thunderbolt starfury from Babylon 5 vs the Sabre from Halo reach. YF-30 Chronos from Macross 30 vs the Gaia Gear Alpha from Gundam Gaia Gear.
Carl Sagan will this help Gaia Gear Alpha is piloted by a literal clone(both body and mind) of Char Anzabel. And the other fights are based on type of unit in their respective series.
Also, Courtship was the first appearance of Dathomir and the Witches and Nightsisters, something that's come a long way since their first introduction in that book, and a lot of fans love them.
"One of the least good" That is . . . some awkward grammar there, Eck. Also, I love how the greatest threat turned out to be Thrawn's 20-ish Nightcloak-ed asteroids, in the end.
Have you done a favourite blaster sounds video yet? I know its not strictly in universe or anything, but it could be fun. Do a short video show casing and classing each one, shouldnt be too too many. Easy enough to pair down really. Hope you dont mind the suggestion. Great video as always, thank you.
I think the idea of having a ship built into an asteroid is really cool! But It doesn't really have any special weapons, so personally I wouldn't even call it a super weapon.
Iron Man's bulletproof, can fly, and has on-board energy weapons. Plus he can take a tank round and walk away from it. I love Master Chief, but he's far overmatched in this fight. Likely his only chance would be to use a Forerunner Incineration Cannon or Binary Rifle, since it might be able to disintegrate Iron Man's armor.
The Sun Crusher also survived crashing through the bridge of a Star Destroyer, as well as the blast of a supernova. Had the NR kept the Sun Crusher, they might've been better off in the Yuuzhan Vong War.
Can you answer a question that’s been bugging me lately? So I’ve been rewatching the Clone Wars series lately and just saw Landing at Point Rain again where the Republic commences its second invasion of Geonosis. Now the Separatists are clearly prepared for the attack and knew the Republic plan. My question related to the fact that Palpatine was involved in the campaign brief before the operation began and I want to know if you can answer whether or not he informed the Geonosian’s as to the Republic battle plan or the Geonosian’s were just extremely specifically prepared. My theory is that Palpatine believed foiling the landing assault would lengthen the campaign leading to more Republic and Jedi casualties and thus greater war exhaustion. What do you think?
So the Tarkin is just a reimagined Darksaber. From Kevin Anderson's novel by the same name? The Hutts took the DS plans and made a superweapon that resembled a planatary sized lightsaber hilt. Hence the name.
+Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, if we are going with specialized units and heavy weapons and vehicles the UNSC takes the cake with the experimental god like heavy weapon being about equal in power to the spartan laser or railgun. And the UNSC has stuff like the hannibal scorpian and now they have incineration cannons.
Does anyone remember the scene in ep. 3 when the venator and providence broadsides, I had a question about when it cuts to where it shows the droids and clones are on guns, I thought the venator only had turrets, please tell me where the clones are when firing the lasers if you know
A CSO class carrier from Halo could stand a chance against the Eclipse if it’s able to outflank the Eclipse so that it’s giant lazer cannon couldn’t hit it
Great list, those silly satellite weapons are are worthy of last place. I hated to see them again in the story for BF2. Maybe not considered superweapons per se, but I maybe consider things like a Star Destroyer slagging a world, and high yield planet busting baradium weapons as well. Got to consider they still had rail gun technology as well, so unshielded planets could be devastated pretty easily.
Hi EckhartsLadder, I have a theory about the 3 live action Starship Troopers movies- I think the story line is based of world war 1. The sinking of the RMS Lusitania by a German U-boat riled the US and led to the US joining the war. Akin to the Bugs destroying Buenos Aires riled the UCF into war. next (I know the US entered the war far later so this is a bit of a hole in my theory) Large amount of propaganda (For example the UCF Mobile Infantry recruitment commercials). Then a costly infantry attack (Or in world war 1's case multiple charges into machine gun fire) or in Starship Troopers the Klendathu drop. In the second Starship Troopers we see the UCF using trenches and the Bugs using artillery. lastly in the third Starship Troopers movie the stalemate is broken with marauder suits. What do you think about my theory?
The Empire should have just placed a super laser in the center of a huge hyperspace ring surrounded by turbo lasers and point defense weaponry. One capable of destroying and entire city and capital ship was all you’d need. I never got why blowing up an entire world did any good since you were lessening your empire and potential resources.

Please do Kanan Jarrus vs Rahm Kota.
The greatest super weapon in the Star Wars Galaxy...Post Trilogy Lucas and Disney. Zahn would have been a great writer for the movies.
Brotherhood of nod from command and conquer vs the republic on ground just two army's going at it can it be a vid?
EckhartsLadder Grievous Fleet at the Battle of Saleucami vs Rebel Fleet at the Battle of Scarif
You should put the Kedalba class battleship versus the imerial II star destroyer or the mc80
The Sun Crusher I pictured in my head when I was reading those books was way cooler than the apparent canon appearance. That thing just looks goofy. It's like an armored ice cream cone with a satellite dish on the bottom point.
Brian Webber It's even worse when you remember it was made alongside the Death Star which made no sense
I had this vision in my head of a sleek, sharp-edged starfighter with like torpedo tubes in the sides.....nope we get the stupid snow cone of plot convenience
Same! As a kid I imagined an awesome sleek fighter with lots of armor.
The actual design is pretty lame haha
Brian Webber wait what was its canon appearance
Said ice cream cone can destroy systems
I seriously enjoy the sheer number of superweapons the Empire had at their disposal.
Well, they went full Cold War on the doomsday devices :D It's like in the 50's/60's with nukes on nearly everything that could be fired (AA nukes, man-portable nuke missiles, Dyna-Soar etc...), or in the early 80's (SDI, soviet weaponised shuttles, Soviet R36M2 Voevoda ICBM - also known as SS-18 mod 5 Satan in the west, train/truck-based ICBMs, or whatever that is still classified)
born because people dont like it to make sense
The Alliance better be glad I don't have all of these in Empire at War or Forces of Corruption, I cause enough trouble with Death Stars lol
Ah the Sun Crusher, the Mary Sue of superweapons.
Isteak80 except we would all want one bc it’s that cool
Courier 6 based on coolness alone I would choose the eclipse any time
To be fair, the Sun Crusher's resonant torpedoes weren't all that powerful by themselves. However, their ability to destabilize and initiate a supernova in stars is what's truly terrifying.
The nokia of star wars
Courier 6 It looks like a ice cream cone I hate Star killer but at least it looks cool
Legends writers: what should we write for the plot of our new book for the EU
Legends writers: how about another Imperial super weapon? (times a lot)
An occasional super weapon is pretty cool, but they had way too many that it got old quick
Jedi Archives
They kinda were in demand as that's what readers expected. They just got struck into a cycle
Jedi Archives
What the matter with super weapons
Jedi Archives to be fair, that's exactly what the new moves are about to (starkiller base and the supremacy).
Hail Hydra
That one goodish thing about them
Hail Hydra Supremacy isn't a super weapon lol

And it wasn't the only exhaust port, but the only one exploitable.
Really, it was just the fact that it was important to the plo- I mean force.
Now the real question is why in the force was there a trench leading up to it?
It always puts a smile on my face imagining a doge listening to vaporwave discussing Star Wars lore
Was the Sun Crusher ever used *by* the Empire? I remember it only being used *against* them...
I did not read the books. But it could have wipe out a star system. It was very powerful to destroy. As he said. They have to throw that thing in A black hole.

Exactly. Kip was the only one to use it as a weapon.
@@Robin-dr5zp you're massively underestimating how big a galaxy is. It's like millions of stars
The suncrusher is the most powerful, definitely, but at the cost of losing the mass resources that go along with a star system left relatively intact. Great comment my friend! I agree completely. World Devastators would be my first choice! So useful. Plus, Suncrusher is just to OP and kind of dumb!
Yea the suncrusher is like that one kid Who says :
No I have forcefield
When you would play whit other kids ( as a kid No I dont do that anymore )
Every Tie variant ranked.
I hope Eck does a more thorough list for that.
The defender is easily #1
Mike7998 Tie Hunter does the same job with the same weapons for a fraction of the price.
Does the Tie Hunter have shields and a hyperdrive?
I just checked so yes it does. But the strength of the shields, firepower, and speed are also factors.
What if the eclipse was at the battle of endor
Seems like a bad idea. I'm assuming that it would take the place of the Executor and in that case you'd have two super lasers firing back and forth at a small fleet in between and with star war's accuracy record one of them is bound to miss the rebels
It was being built at the time

Gonna keep trying!

Glad to see the Omega Frost on the list. Far too many people forget about the original Marvel stories when talking about the old EU.
The Supremacy Mega Star Destroyer versus the Eclipse Super Star Dreadnought
The Eclipse fires its superlaser, the Supremacy disintegrates, the end.
Eclipse VS any other single ship
Eclipse wins every time.
+Jay, the Eclipse fires at the UNSC Infinity from halo, Infinity dodges it because forerunner technology and built in AI and then fires supermacs at the Eclipse which in turn tears through the entire ship splitting it in half.
The eclipse just does a hyperspace ram into the supremacy
Thyre Radim the supermacs would do damage to the eclipse, but it would take multiple shots to destroy it, as the armor and shielding made it nearly indestructible
I guess for number one it takes off the quote "Bigger Isn't Always Better" and "Quality Over Quantity".
And #1 is... the Sun Crusher... BIG surprise. Great vid keep up good work!

I know but I think these fights would be fun for him to do.
Great video I already knew which one was bad and good .
Also, Courtship was the first appearance of Dathomir and the Witches and Nightsisters, something that's come a long way since their first introduction in that book, and a lot of fans love them.
The imperials had a lot of superweapons.
Got here pretty fast
"One of the least good"
That is . . . some awkward grammar there, Eck.
Also, I love how the greatest threat turned out to be Thrawn's 20-ish Nightcloak-ed asteroids, in the end.
An eclipse but instead of a mini super laser, it's got a resonance torpedo firing galaxy gun
Courtship of Princess Leia is one of my all time favorites
What bout Operation Cinder from Battlefront 2?
Isn't Cinder just the Orbital Nightcloak in reverse?
This was fantastic I love the Legends Super weapons.
It’s gonna be a contest of galaxy gun vs sun crusher
What about the Satellites from Operation: Cinder?
these guys really like blowing up planets don't they...
I remember the worst superweapons video. This reminded me of that as a lot of the superweapons are mentioned in both.
Great video! You should do all rankings and comparisons from worst to best.
Love you, Eckhart
How did I call the sun crusher. Will for ever remain a mystery.
Have you done a favourite blaster sounds video yet?
I know its not strictly in universe or anything, but it could be fun. Do a short video show casing and classing each one, shouldnt be too too many. Easy enough to pair down really. Hope you dont mind the suggestion.

I think the idea of having a ship built into an asteroid is really cool! But It doesn't really have any special weapons, so personally I wouldn't even call it a super weapon.
So excited for republic commandos seris!!!
Great Video! And plz make a star wars factions compared video on artillery
Another amazing video! to bad im supposed to be studying
I really wanted to learn more about World devastators
That sun crusher is impressive
Iron Man vs Master Chief
Iron Man's bulletproof, can fly, and has on-board energy weapons. Plus he can take a tank round and walk away from it. I love Master Chief, but he's far overmatched in this fight. Likely his only chance would be to use a Forerunner Incineration Cannon or Binary Rifle, since it might be able to disintegrate Iron Man's armor.
The Sun Crusher also survived crashing through the bridge of a Star Destroyer, as well as the blast of a supernova.
Had the NR kept the Sun Crusher, they might've been better off in the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Come check out my most recent video! I have made a Halo 6 trailer that I think any Halo fan watching Eckhart would love! Cheers, have a nice day.
FuRi Maze cool vid
Game Hedgehog cheers man!
FuRi Maze your welcome any time
I’ve planned on bringing the world devastator and Eclipse super star destroyer in a canon movie I’m planning.
And people say 40k is to extreme. God I love star wars!
You should rank every super weapon, regardless of faction (unless you've already done that).
Suggestion- Starkiller Base vs The Rebel Fleet at Endor
You forgot the eye of tarkin and in the clone wars comics there is a weather control station that is used by the confederacy for defensive purposes.
The first galactic empiraa!!!
“Courtship of Princess Leia” was a good book. It potrayed the night sisters right
Spartans (Halo) vs N7 (Mass Effect) and UNSC Marines (Halo) vs System Alliance Marines (Mass Effect)
100% American Buffalo The Spartans would slaughter the N7's but I dont know about the marines though
Timmy Howard Spartans would slaughter the N7, but it's an even fight between the Marines.
Spartans Slaughter and the Marines battle is 100% chance depending on what era UNSC and what loadout.
Spartans win easily and marines depends on equipment and troops (biotics? vehicles? Etc.)
+Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, if we are going with specialized units and heavy weapons and vehicles the UNSC takes the cake with the experimental god like heavy weapon being about equal in power to the spartan laser or railgun. Definitely no doubt about the sun crusher. No doubt about the deathstars too, rebel plot armor beat them.
The sun crusher might be made with zillo-beast scales
No giant flying Dorito metal thingies?!
A CSO class carrier from Halo could stand a chance against the Eclipse if it’s able to outflank the Eclipse so that it’s giant lazer cannon couldn’t hit it
Extra points to the og darksaber? The ship built by the hutts?

In the second Starship Troopers we see the UCF using trenches and the Bugs using artillery. lastly in the third Starship Troopers movie the stalemate is broken with marauder suits. What do you think about my theory?
I like your content, but the old republic area also has some interesting stuff, you could include them in some of these videos.

Do a vid about the Resurgence vs another ship
The Empire should have just placed a super laser in the center of a huge hyperspace ring surrounded by turbo lasers and point defense weaponry. One capable of destroying and entire city and capital ship was all you’d need. I never got why blowing up an entire world did any good since you were lessening your empire and potential resources.
Can someone explain what he meant when he said Mon calamari learned the hard way with the world devastators please and thank you
