There is nothing worse on a beautifully converted campervan, than all manner of ugly connection points coming out of the sides. Brought to you by the people that designed the ever popular e-grille, this stealth rear door flap is a great way to hide all types of connection points. These can be use for electric hook up, LPG inlet and BBQ point outlets, water points for under slung tanks amongst many other connection points.
We’ve seen people try the make this type of thing over the years and they’ve worked, but they aren’t pretty, they sag and flap around, don’t lock in place, have ugly silver cupboard hinges, or hit back against the bodywork. This has been design to work with the simplest of fitting, using your original painted cover trim. When installed the panels sits in its original position so you can’t even tell its there when closed. The hinge system has been cleverly deigned to pull out and way from the body, while locating and holding in place with hidden magnets. When open there is plenty of space for multiple connection tyres.
Design to work with T5 right though to the current T6.1 Transporters with a tailgate, RHD and LHD models (Not compatible with barn door vehicles)
The package contains all the parts needed for installation as well as simple to follow online instructions.
We made a set of these for a van in 2017. We had hook up on the left side, and water fill on the right. A nice mod
Double flaps!! 👌😊
@@THQAutomotive no where near as clean as yours, but we used a piano hinge so they could open all the way out
Nice. I just 3d printed this for my California and installed a propane/butane hookup for the internal bottle.
Be careful - the space is partially occupied if the model has the side assist option.
Noted 👌
Did you design it from scratch? Or is it on thingyerse
@@junglesairsoftblog6311 Its been designed from scratched.
Where is the file hosted please?
@@TheMjdean there isn't one.
I know I'm not the first but need a offside version. looks very well designed and thought out excellent bit of kit
I spoke to him yesterday and they're working on the left side now
@@THQAutomotive great news definitely in shopping basket. Be sure to let us all know. Thanks
Hi, I have a lowered VW 2010 5.1 camper and socket under rear bumper which keeps getting caught on uneven ground when backing up. This is a good alternative, but..... Purchased kit and although clever and can be made to work, it has some problems. Screws to attach panels to hinge only engage by 2 mm, the 3D printed section they screw into is not solid but is printed with thin walls, so is hollow. Very hard to get perfect fit without making a final shim between hinge and panel to align panel shuts. With some careful DIY work you can get it to fit with a shim but the very short screws supplied are a waste of time, they will not hold panel in place and it will fly off the van after a few miles. I very carefully drilled for thread inserts (just enough room!) and before fitting inserts filled the gap in the 3D printed section with epoxy filler to better hold the inserts. Did the designer test his design in the real world of VW campers - probably not.
£150 for a hinge. WOW!. Good idea but I'll stick with a 230V socket inlet under my van.
Good for you
If you can’t afford it don’t knock it, a great deal of R&D has gone into perfecting this. Feel free to lie Down in the mud to access your utility point which is a much lower cost solution.
Thank you so much for your suggestion!
Glad it was helpful
That squeak would drive me insane 😂
Hi .. £150 .
Where are you based ?
Any photos of a 240v connection in behind this?
@TransporterHQ Do you have the pdf instruction file?
Awesome video, great job Mitch 🙌🏻🤩
He's getting good at this 😂
Was going to go for bonnet hook up, but if they could do this drivers side I’d prefer this!
It's a few months away but it will happen.
@@THQAutomotive awesome, very excited for your new flush sliders too. Windows on hold til they’re out.
@@laurabiddle6416 not long now 😊
hi i done this to my 2005 T5 when new for my 12v sockets not a new idea although still neat atb
Yes the space has been there forever.
Various changes of course throughout the years will affect how the vehicle looks behind there.
Same principle otherwise.
I know it's not new. Just nice to see it done this neatly
donde puedo comprar las piezas, soy de las islas canarias la palma, españa
I order one not noticing it was for the passenger side. You guys made a big error making that side first. Everyone’s electrics are on the drivers side. Now I have to make some changes.
No we don't make an error, they were originally design for LPG gas in and out, we just released it could be used for lots of other applications. Plus in the Europe they want it all the other way around. We've working on a Right side cover at the moment. Just send it back and we'll refund you 😊
Are VisionTech going to make them for the right hand side..would seem more feasible, nice design though..
We've had a few people ask now. I'll speak to them and see what they say.
I'd take a right one too as my hookup is currently in the centre of the rear bumper but runs to the right so I'd have to extend it to get to the left.
@@danielthomas1735 Keep your eye on our website for updates.
Would this for the T6.1 Caravelle?
Great mod.
Hello, yes they will.
I modified mine 6 years ago for the electric hook up to hide it. Was mine the original???
Maybe!! ;)
I Did something similar to my T5.1 back in 2015 then sold the van without telling the new owner about it. Wonder how long it was before they found it??
haha, i'm love to see his / her face when they discovered it :)
Mine is situated behind the fog light on my t4.
Yeah I've seen this done. Great idea
This is brilliant
Thank you ☺️
That is a fine bit of kit guys , well done it’s so neat 👍 what wheels you got the van ?
They are Navis wheels. Custom made GP7 split rims.
Looks good. When is right hand side going to be available?
Hello, hopefully within a month
Awesomeness
Good but of kit isn't it
@@THQAutomotive it’s great, I’m also loving the key safe idea for hiking etc, genius…
@@duncanpotter5323 Yes there are so many uses for this. We love it :)
That looks nice!
They've become really popular
Do you have a link to right hand side?
They are both on the website. Just search 'stealth' transporterhq.co.uk
A few questions can you fit this for me and how much would that cost plus what key safe did you use please
Yes would could fit it. £60+vat labour. The key safe is just off Amazon. I think it was £16
If only companies that did camper conversions though of doing this
We supply these to camper conversion companies
@@THQAutomotive I know it’s not your bag, but, who is doing work to your level on Transit Customs. My Budget couldn’t stretch to a new Transporter. Even though they are the better built vans
@@bigeein I don't really know, sorry 😞
Any reason why you've chosen the passenger side? Will you be offering both sides as an option?
I'll speak to them about also make one for the right side.
@@THQAutomotive Yes all my services are on drivers side with kitchen, means i have to route water, gas, 240 etc over to other side. be great to get drivers side option 🙂
All ones ive seen done were on the right where all the units are
@@mcjjordan I've confirmed its now being re-designed so we also have a left side version
Any news on the RHS version? I can’t see it on your website.
What is required to be done on the inside ?
What do you mean, sorry I don't understand
How is the electric wire passed through ? Do you have to drill holes ?
Its totally up to you have what you put there. Different people route the cables of gas pipe etc in different ways. @@JefferyRoberts-h5s
Thank you
Oh nice, thanks for showing me where to hide my weed 😂
Always happy to help 😜
Looks very neat
Yeah looks smart doesn't it.
Do you sell standard replacements for those panels? My T5.1 has Black bumper style panels there which look pretty naff.
We don't sorry
Very clever👍
Hi, what rust inhibitor are you using for this?
Any will be fine. We use the same stuff we use when fitting windows that comes as primer in our window fitting kits.

Nice piece of kit!
Looks a lot more solid than the one I have installed. 👍🏻
Is there an option for it to be fitted on either the right or left ?
No they currently only make them for the left side.
@@THQAutomotive That’s a dam shame😢 all my electrics are 🇬🇧 off-side, as are most peoples due to cabinetry position. My hookup is currently under the bumper there. This would’ve been a no brainer 4 me if you can produce a mirror version….please 😉
