i dont call them cheatmeals...they are fun-meals and are part of my diet and life!

Amen. I do not compete. I do a shade of carnivore meets keto. I also am facing stage 4 cancer albeit a very slow cancer, I still give myself a cheat in a 24 hour window every few months. I just had my annual ice cream binge and now I will make myself not eat it for at least a year. In the end I am actually tired of that sweetness. Dont be so robotic and dogmatic is the takeaway. Btw in these Cheat Windows, I am still going heavy with my lifts. In fact I will do an AM/PM session.
why must a cheatmeal or cheatday always be placed in connection with a competitive diet or with a deficit of calories, energy....i can also make a cheatmeal/day purely for psychological reasons and simply times to take a break from disciplined eating!!!!

“3500 calories is a pound of fat”. Outside of the fact that statement ignores so many factors, simple math tells you there is 4100 calories contained in a pound of dietary fat. So if you eat 1 pound of fat on top of your “maintenance” you’ll gain more than 1 pound? How? Magic?
He means body fat not dietary fat, with the other stuff in fat tissue like water brings it to 3500, a pond of fat tissue isn't 100% pure fat

So 3500 extra calories from sour patch kids and donuts will make you gain the same amount of fat as 3500 extra calories of white fish and raw almonds? I cant believe nutrition “experts” are still using this calorie is a calorie, 3500 calories makes you gain blah blah nonsense. Regurgitation without thought.
No because the white fish and almonds will be used to repair muscle and slowly digested and give off amino acids where as the sour patch kids will get stored as fat
You can lose the same amount if weight eating 1800 calories of sour patch kids as eating 1800 calories of white fish tho. But eating the sour patch kids you will lose muscle aswell as fat cause you got no protein and will look worse eating the sour patch kids than the fish
Cheat meals are 100% irrelevant unless you're a competitive bodybuilder.
