    Thanks for posting this Omar... really appreciate it... you don't even want to know how much a garage said it would cost to do this job. I'm having to do the timing chain and phasers at the same time I'm doing this.... seriously rethinking my choice on a Mercedes...

    I fixed mine 3 x after finally buying original Mercedes pump from European company with lifetime warranty!!! Better than 1y from MB Dealarship… Replaced 2weeks ago working great !! I can fix the pump in 3x less time than the first time now lol.
    Removed oil filter and air intake box that make the job much easier👌
    Update today March 2024 still works great !

      Well,when I purchased the car from this guy Mark first ride from the bank the engine light cane on !!
      He came with his buddy mechanic who erased the engine light while I was in bank getting money for the car.
      Basically when I stepped on gas ⛽️ the turbo engaged and it set the engine light and put car in limp mode ( lazy mode slow driving to prevent more damage) took it to MB they wanted around $2000 to fix it $209 diagnostic which I figured out on my own for free with my OBD reader or you can go some car parts shop they check engine light for free.
      The second faulty fuel pump I got from amazon was even worse my car just died on first intersection, luckily started up again so I turned around removed it again put my original bad one in and ordered from FCP they give you LIFE TIME WARRANTY not like MB dealership only 1-3 years if any and if you just buy a part from MB and put it in yourself there is no warranty.
      Once you do it several times it’s easy . Get a telescope mirror it helps because you can’t see at the back of the engine there are screws and the magnet which is inside of the fuel pump which have to line up to adjust it correctly to fit.

  • @sranjesuper
    @sranjesuper 4 года назад +8

    Lol you took out the engine mounts and intake manifold. I don't do any of that. I can have the HPFP out in 10 minutes flat . No need for intake removal or engine mount removal. But sure as hell would do it on a customers car, to charge more hours, and add in a carbon cleaning of the valves and replacement of the pcv valve and maybe even the oil filter housing if it's leaking. Cause i done all that. BTW for anybody doing this job, Turn the crank to 52 , it will say that number on the crank pulley. Then the new pump will go in easy. ( make sure the new pump has the same rotation angle as the old pump that you took out, and then it will go in like butter.

      @@omarlopez-eb2nd Yeah the hardest part is the 2 lines. With the air filter box out, there is enough space to crack open the 19mm with a wrench. The threads are very nice and fast, so all you have to do is crack it open. The low pressure is a bit hard to undo the 1 time clamp. Use a pick or screwdriver , and then just slide it off with a screwdriver or trim removal tool. If you got these 2 off, then you can do the rest very easily, because the intake manifold is not in the way of any of the bolts for the hpfp. Just make sure to set the Crankshaft pulley to 52 and it will be all easy. God Bless

      Aloha snanjesuper 🤙🏽 did you release the HPFP as on this video at 3:35 ? Or you can just simply do so at the fuel pump when unscrewing the bolt ? Also do you know the tools needed for this job? The 2 fuel pump screws size and type ? I just talk to Mercedes they charging me $1700 for this job ... fuel pump for $760 I just ordered mine for $312 bright new ... it’s seems easy the way you described just worried about the crankshaft turn on 52 not sure how and the high pressure release.. it’s fuel so don’t want to make mess if I take off the hose and gas starts to gashing out on the engine 💣🤷🏽‍♂️ but I guess if i clamp the gas hose shouldn’t happen 😅than after the job is done do I have to measure the pressure in the HPFP? I know there is a tool box for that , in Orayley they offered me to buy that but they didn’t have the fuel pump...

    • @sranjesuper
      @sranjesuper 3 года назад +1

      @@worldfitnesstrainerradekve9234 No need to release pressure, i just unhooked the low pressure hose and some fuel came out. I put a rag under it to catch it. Not much fuel comes out. Maybe 15ml
      Obviously make sure your key is not in the car and make sure you give it some time to cool off. If the hose is pressurized, it will be maximum 80PSI but without pressure, it should be a couple of PSI
      The 52 mark is very easy to see on the crank pulley and there is a notch on the engine that you lign up the 52 with., I don't remember the exact sizes. I think i used 8mm flexible wrench for the 3 screws on the hpfp, a 19mm wrench for the big pressure hose, screwdrivers for the small pressure hose to break the metal clamp, and then use a new screwable clamp after. and there is a small bracket with a couple of bolts that holds the hpfp connector also 8mm. Overall, it takes me about 10 minutes to have the hpfp in my hand after 2 tries.

      It's useful enough to someone who sees a battery and a lot of stuff on the right side of the engine and are not clear where to start or were you will end up if you start. If you do not have a shop manual with step by step you have to write a shop procedure while you disassemble things and take pictures before removals in a complex procedure like this. The engine partial removal would be where I write the check to the Bosch shop and let them do it. I hate when there are parts left over after assembly, or the care won't start.
