Hats off to the devs for actually listening to the community. Even the premium package isn't half bad, depending how often you fly.
Be great for people like myself, who dont quite have the FPS for vatsim.
Now that's doable. Sold. I don't like using VATSIM as ".wallop" used to be a frequently used command for me. People doing whatever they want, no respect for aviation rules or other planes around them. It drives me crazy. I would much rather fly "offline" at my leasure without cowboys taking off in the wrong direction without broadcasting while I am coming in to land having been broadcast my intensions like a good boy.
Exactly this lol I quit VATSIM for quite some time now due to those reasons. Plus it's relaxing and chill flying offline lol
agreed! the lack of professionalism on vatsim (mostly pilots) puts me off it. people "breaking character" by mentioning sim issues, out of date airac, etc. also ruins it for me. although i have always found controllers to be pleasant and cannot commend them enough even if theyre not perfect
@@mlx39996 Oh for sure 100% agreed. No problems with the controllers. 99% of them are professional and a pleasure to deal with. My problem is specific to the unctrolled areas where no one broadcasts their intentions and does as they please. Had people cut in front of me while I was on final, take off or land in the wrong direction based on wind. Taxi onto the runway while you are on short finals. You follow the rules and broadcast your intentions and some yahoo who didn't say a word passes behind you as you are pushing back. If they don't know what they are doing, or are not interested in the simulation (realism) part of operating in an enviroment with thousands of other pilots... what are they doing there?
@@mlx39996 If I had the time patience and resources needed, I would have created an alternate to VATSIM with two environments. One for new accounts where you need a specific number of online hours before you get licensed and graduate to the Professional Environment. If you have more than two incident reports filed against you in a given time frame... say one month, your license gets revoked, you get bumped back down to the training environment and have to pass the evaluation period again. This will keep most console cowboys and weekend flyers off the Professional Environment and make online flying much more enjoyable.
Are you talking about the US vatsim or EU? I started a week ago and its a blast, i dont really experience what you described
I can live with the basic voices as long as they give me instructions that actually make sense.
So, I suppose it’s a win they they have listened and adjusted the pricing. However during your recent video you said you’d spoken with the developer and they told you they were losing money at the original pricing. Makes you wonder how are they now able to reduce the initial cost by 50% and give the basic voices / PTT for free. Does seem that they were trying it on a bit with the original pricing model..

They were able to offer the better price because the developers did not give up and kept pounding the pavement for a better deal on the AI. They were able to get the providers of the AI tech to give them a much better deal therefore allowing them to pass this savings onto the consumer. This also allowed Beyond ATC to restructure the sale price of the their product. Beyond ATC has also put out their own video explaining this. The short of it is they listened to the community and worked hard to try and get the community a better deal, which they were successful at. Let's not forget that the team at Beyond ATC is a handful of guys (flight simmers like you and I ) and not a major developer or corporation. They are doing the best they can with what they have. And they are listening to the community. You can't ask for more than that. It's not about winning, it's about working together and Beyond ATC is working together with the community. Cheers!
They did say that half of the original price went into the bundled amount of premium voice time you got, you'll notice that now you get a lot less (makes sense not to make everyone pay for it since not everyone will use it). So this price cut is actually consistent with what they said.
Was going to buy it anyway but this is a big sweetener!
To be honest even the basic voices are somewhat robotic... BUT they key here is that they'll be *different* everywhere you go, beating the acidic stock voice heard everywhere by light years. :)
This i can afford AND enjoy. Basic voice sounds more than good enough for me. I might be back on the hype train.
I still would like to see a few flights to gauge the approach and separation controlling etc.
They have a few flights on their YT page if you haven’t seen those yet! OverkillSimulations has also done flights with it.
So excited for this again - and to spend a £5-£10 to treat half my monthly flights on premium voices is now totally doable!
Hi was wondering if you have this info before i make a decision.. what actual international voices does it come with and or are some of these only premium?...i hear much talk of many American and English speaking Accents. but what about the rotw?, Like Asia Japan China Brasil; and of course French Spanish German Polish maybe Irish etc etc,,, not really inspiring me if i don't have imho core accents like the ones i listed. might be strange to say but we are not all American.. thx 4 the video..

Of course this idea is way better than the previous one. I will go premium no matter what. Because of the quality and immersion it gives, and also I don't fly a lot.
Honestly, I would have given them the $60 for the program with Basic Voices, I think the software is worth it.

Lemme see if I got the straight. Last week, their voices cost 5 to 8 times what they do now. And basic voices actually costed money. And he wasn't making any money off of them. In Fact he was "Losing" on the premium voices.
But this week, the basic voices magically cost nothing and the companies on the back just happily "negotiated" an 80% cut in profits? Who is stupid enough to actually believe this stuff?
I believe that what we've been hearing is true - the developers heard from the masses and knew this was a losing proposition as it was originally offered. Both the developers and the handlers of the data/API on the other end knew they needed to be successful, so they renegotiated. Or maybe Beyond ATC went to another vendor. And of course it is possible that the Beyond ATC management miscalculated their original profit target and reconsidered their position. We simply don't know the details, but one thing is certain - regardless of how they got there, the bottom line is that if this product offers what is being advertised at the cost they're asking, it's worth it.
@@DestructZero6471 At this point, what they are offering is Pilot2ATC 2.0 minus VFR plus Traffic injection.... Maybe. If they dont reneg on any more of their promises. Its not AI at all. Its menu based and the only things you can do are what ever is in the menu. No special requests, no changes, nothing. Every month something else from the original promises gets removed. At this point we'll be lucky to even see the traffic injection that their beta testers havent even seen.
When can we buy it ?

I think it would be Worth it particularly with beginners. To get that realistic learning how to talk to air traffic control. If you join vets in right away from what I understand everybody gets mad at you if you don't know what you're doing and that can be very discouraging. This can give you a chance to train to know the terminologies and how the wording sounds until you can start to fly with real that some users.

In my opinion its just a "trick" and everybody is freaking out. First they gave you the shocking price so everybody was positively surprised when they halfed it. Thats a company - they think about marketing and pricing since the beginning. So I would be very surpised if all this was NOT planned ^^
Now that's a better pill to swallow. Not interested in premium voices. I just want working ATC. Like MSFS should have had from the start. I'm looking at you, Microsoft and Asobo. Don't drop the ball in MSFS 2024, especially if you expect me to pay top dollar. Once bitten twice shy.

I just don’t understand how I’m paying $30 for a “one time purchase” and than there’s a “$10 for every 15-20 flights” it’s not a subscription service but I can run out of using this after speaking back and forth so many times? Because that’s a ripoff and definitely a subscription service if I have to refill my “talking abilities” to keep using the program I paid for. I just don’t get why it’s being sold as such a confusing payment process
Thanks for the comparison, everyone just uses premium voices in these demo videos and I was curious how a basic voice model sounds. Sounds fine for 30USD one time payment, with the main benefit being accurate instructions (the default ATC is horrendous but "something" is always missing, and I don't want to go on Vatsim because I can't understand them, bad mics, accents, too fast). And with the price of the premium voices, I can see myself doing longer weekend flights that are just immersive. Definite buy!
I will be honest
I would be happy to pay either the $59.00 or the $30.00 with either of the attached AI price additions since as a real life pilot I have always struggled with getting good ATC coverage in the sim---it has never been close to What Beyond ATC is now providing!
BTW, I heard on another video that the AI planes will ALL be using Basic voices and you WILL NOT have the option to upgrade to Premium voices for them.
Don't know why people cry at the original price of this, when some users use Pilot Edge at $20+ per month which can only be used when they are open and in America, with not a lot of traffic or a traffic vmr model. Where this will use real time traffic with FSTL
In the product description it says 50000 characters (about an hour of flight).1 million characters costs 30 dollars.Does that mean I get 20 hours of flight for 30 dollars??

This is really impressive. The switch to characters instead of the somewhat vague transmission units is a welcome change, much easier to understand. This has gone from a "probably won't" to "probably will" for me.
As a german flying on vatsim and also hearing the german atc there, I really had to laugh because of the embarrassing german premium voice. No german ATC sounds like that.
For someone to claim no affiliation with BeyondATC developers, you spend a lot of time pushing the program.

They will get a lot more customers now. I dont mind having a monthly expense, as long its reasonable. This seems much more reasonable

I fail to see how their pricing model can be sustainable as it requires near constant growth for them to be able to even pay the bills. I am not sure that the home flight simulator market is big enough for that. But, time will tell.

I’m really impressed with BATC Gav, both in relation to what I’ve seen of their product but also their transparency and attitude. I’ll certainly be a customer when I’m able to.

I'll be a day one customer and will be very interested to see how the BATC traffic injection/handling performs, relative to currently available partial alternatives, like FSLTL.
I understand that BATC will run in its own executable and this might allow it to use different CPU threads, for example, but how will this really affect performance?
It'd be good if doesn't have a larger impact on FPS than the current injectors, but being able to include even more live traffic would be better, for me at least.
Last week they released a video saying they were making a loss, could get paid better doing other work. This week they can half the price. Will of course be getting it but spare us the bleeding hearts of we are loss makers and our motivation is by love of swimming. Great product but please be like ms2024, say its being released and just release when ready. Stop the drip drip of 'we are one day closer
I was going to buy it on the previous pricing. Basic voices will do, anything is better than the ATC included with MSFS 2020.
Sealed the deal for me. While I think the "Say Intentions" voices sounded even better, the price is just not justifiable considering what you get with Beyond ATC.
Will test the stability of the basic first.
Would be frustrating paying for premium voices and then losing out to CTDs and other basic sim or add-on issues.

I’ve followed developments with BATC since the beginning and given the work they have put in the pricing wasn’t too bad, although complicated when first announced. But hats off to them for listening and coming up with the new price model. I’ll definitely be buying it and probably using it with premium voices as I don’t get to fly that often. I’ve tried Vatsim but as a newbie finding manned quieter airports is a nightmare so yet to complete a landing with ATC as they have gone offline by arrival time. So really eagerly awaiting BATC release.

Im getting this as soon as it supports VFR too. And yeah, those premium regional voices are pretty cool. Especially on longer flights between several countries it would add a lot to the immersion to hear the accents change on the way. $30 for a million characters isn't too bad either and I imagine it'll only get more affordable in the future.
I was about to purchase real traffic licence for PSXT but I may hold off now and get this when it releases.
