@Zx Spectrum And no way as accurate as a dedicated GPS device. A phone GPS is 5 meters accurate, the military uses 1 meter accuracy. The GPS on your phone looks at point A and then 3 seconds later looks at point B, then it calculates the difference in meters and then it will display your current speed and can measure acceleration. But because there's such a huge delay and at it's best it's accurate to 5 meters there is no way that these apps work like a dedicated GPS box. The phone is only the display and is linked to the GPS box.
After watching virtually all of your driving videos, I have to admit, this S8 you drove this time is the car I fell madly in love with! I love the understated looks even with the 22" wheels, and I especially love the fact that so much performance has been achieved without making the car loud and brash sounding - this is the epitome of super saloons - it will scare of Mercedes S65 AMG without breaking a sweat, as well as standard Panamera Turbo S. Your viewer Zakaria who owns this car gets my unreserved praise and admiration for having discerning taste & the lust for big performance without sacrificing comfort! WOW!! I am madly in love! Thank you!
It's very cool that AutoTopNL subscribers are offering you (and the rest of us) a chance to go for a ride in their car. I think the 0-100Km/h times are nothing short of incredible for such a large & comfortable car, I almost wanted you to stop trying to go any quicker. And yes, it's fast - just goes straight to 300Km/h no problem. Very fast. I'm not sure how to spell the owners name - Zachary or Zacharia perhaps. Anyway, big thanks to them - what a cool car they have.
I'm close to pulling the trigger as well. Im at APR stage 1. I already did my turbos to RS7+4mm. I had them machined and new billet wheels made. So the plan is Stage 3 this summer with new pipes and a fresh tune.
C Smith Wow that sounds like its a beast already! Good luck with it all, unfortunately I moved from Scotland to Portugal so have no where remotely close to get any sort of tuning done anymore :(
I was just doing the math, and unless I;m mistaken this S8 can actually hit 200 kmh from zero in just over 10 seconds, right? Or is it even faster than that? Fabulous!!
I haven't measured 0-200KM in a dragstrip yet but the quarter mile was in 10.986 sec with wheelspin in 1st and 2nd gear (cold tarmac and tires) with exit speed of 207km/h.
@@PEMRiUM This car already has valves. However the downpipes dont add much sound. A valved catback from milltek is the way to go for an extra 3k if that's your thing.
Real symphony on the road :) One question for all u guys, what is the maximum possible torque limit for the 2006 DSG gearbox (on a 2006 Audi A3 TDI)???? I'm considering a ECU tune but the tuner said that after the tune is completed the car will have 395Nm wich seems a litlle bit to much for the stock 320Nm....
Medzid 22 395nm will be fine but the clutch will suffer in the long run, you can tune the DSG aswell but I’m not sure how the early versions react to the tune. If it’s a reputable tuner then go for it, never really huge issues with stage 1 as long as you’ve been getting the DSG serviced in the past
@@havenblood Thanks a lot for ur respond. Well I would give it a try without any doubt but the 'tuning situation' in my country is just taking money without quality tuning. That's why I'm sceptic about the remap. I'm not a tuner but if the max torque limit for the DSG is 350-380Nm u can't load it with 395-400Nm... But this RaceChips seems to be quite good and safe and the best part u can do the instalation yourself. Any thoughts about RaceChip??
Medzid 22 I wouldn’t say there’s a “torque limit” for dsg as it’s all down to individual components, stronger clutches and flywheels and such, so if yours was breaking you’d just buy other parts to handle the power accordingly. But 400NM of torque would be easily taken by the DSG if the car’s been looked after, and you don’t spend every second you drive launching the car from a standstill. I’m not a fan of race chip myself, but in a situation like yours I’d be more inclined to try it. Issues that could follow would be fuelling issues, causing the car to run lean and possible knocks in the engine higher up, and just generally not making the power advertised. But on the plus side, anything goes wrong at least you have a company to contact regarding the situation, personal opinion; go for the racechip after reading a few reviews on your car with it attached, much better than a garage who only half knows what to do with tuning your vehicle
Medzid 22 unless you do manage to find somewhere that will give you a custom map, after taking data logs from you car, nothing better than a map suited for your exact car and situation.
@@havenblood My car is a used car from 2006. Audi A3 SB and I own it for fully 3 years and I invested in it about 2800€ (complete engine rebuild and DSG service). It's like new now, all new parts and under waranty (even the tiny rubber seals on the injectors were replaced). And now I'd like to add that extra power too but my goal is not to break everything I invested so far cause of a bad tune (if u know what I mean). Last night I did a research and found a really good looking and reputaded tuning house called 'Hi tech' and seems they know their job very well and offered me following spec 140hp to 170 and 320Nm to 380Nm. They do it just like u said reading and editing my stock map. From the first 395Nm this is much more tolerant for me... And thank you for finding time to give me your opinion on this topic, cheers mate.
