Yesterday, I got it from my store round the corner for 99 bucks. With MEGABASS turned on, it sounds really great. BT connection with my Probook 470 and Latitude E6520 works like a charm, and the sound quality is great. All in all, best boombox I've ever owned. The earlier model ZS-PS50 is now in my office for radio, CD and USB listening, while at work.
January 2024. Price doubled to 200.00 and has been discontinued due to a crappy longevity history. It has been discontinued, but some new units still remain. I bought one at the inflated price AND a three year extended warranty from Amazon. I researched the warrantee company and they came out very good with 4 out of five stars, which is perfect because the few who didn't give five stars are likely poo-poo heads. The poor reviews on the Sony ZS-RS60BT focused on it breaking down after only one year, mainly the CD function. Whats so attractive to me about this specific unit? The USB thumbdrive! I have 80 GB of MP3's... If I load just a fraction of my library onto a 256 GB thumbdrive, I can load 61440 MP3 files. This means I can listen to my personal high quality library WITHOUT freaking dumb car commercials or erectile dysfunctioning commercials for more than a year without hearing the same song twice! Then, I can easily reconstruct my library with all different music for another year, and so on...
I like the usb for the copy from cd function. And when using it as an mo3 player (from the usb) it's got a shuffle function. So with a TON of mp3s it's nice to let it play on shuffle.
I bought this as I need a radio after our internet went down for days! I also can download all my CDs to a USB drive. I’m not very savvy but this is a step up for me!❤️
Well, ever since I saw your video, I’ve been waiting to find something that plays without any fluke, or skipping for an unknown reason. I came across this boombox. It was only available in the Best Buy located in Mission Valley. Ever since I had this unit in September 2022, I only played burnt CDs. I never played stamped CDs because I know already that it will. Had played them from beginning to end, and it played so flawlessly without any skipping. I don’t like the ones that are cheap because it could probably skip for an unknown reason, even if the laser mechanism and motor are okay, not just only if your CD is clean. This one that you reviewed in the video, I’ll recommend this boombox. I’m sure it’s better than the previous boombox I owned, like, say, the one branded as Onn, which is Walmart’s line of electronics. Yes, it also has CD player and bluetooth, but the difference is clear because of bass quality and cd playback. The ladder is small, but with the Sony one, it’s a little bit bigger. Not only does this Sony one play fine, but it also has speakers housed in a bass-reflex design, making you want to feel the beat. Spent $100 on this boombox, and, was it worth the time and money? Well, I believe so. Now, I can keep on grooving without having to ask questions.
Nice unit. Too bad Sony won't offer a version of this unit incorporating a cassette-corder. There is a somewhat-similar Japan-only Sony CD-AM-FM-cassette unit, the CFD-S401, which was reviewed favorably by Techmoan in comparison to the CFD-S70. Thanks for your review.
Yea I've seen his video of that boombox. I've also seen a yt video of a white version of the CFD- S70 (for Japan I think) and I think all that that one has different was a window on the cassette door. There may have been other minor differences but i don't remember.

After I press REC, the light always blinks red then stops, after that I check the files on the USB, SD or my NW-A55 it doesnt have the files on the device. @@christronicsdereksrandomness36 ahhh, thanks, that's what I figured. I have been searching for a CD boombox. Most Boomboxes have been downgraded from the quality of decades of the past to the cheapest Chinese components and assembly which have flooded the market of today. I stream music of course but I do have a large CD Collection. I am thinking I had better buy a portable CD player before they go extinct. The choices are getting much thinner in the last few years. I am a fan of Sony as my TV is a Sony. This Sony Boombox gets mostly good comments however I found several people who had issues. I am going to buy a Panasonic RX-D55GC-K. I have made that judgement from the mostly good reviews and hope for the best. Thanks for responding quickly.
This boombox functions great. Idk why ppl give it such bad reviews. I personally think that they don't quite know how to use it and assume it's not working correctly. I've had no issues with mine and it sounds great for its size.
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36I don't doubt it as I almost bought this player as it looks good. What I wish is that a large quality boom box that plays CDs was still around. There’s one called Studebaker which I considered however it did not have a remote for me to click through CD TRACKS. I had questions about the Studebaker's quality. It may have been OK it’s just that several online reviews, whatever they are worth pointed to issues with its quality and it did not have a remote control. CDs are almost gone and that’s too bad as I like them and have a boatload of them. Perhaps I like them because I am a dinosaur.
@Cube Hire I love CDs as well as cassettes. And im perfectly fine with todays digital music technologies. I like having a boombox that has (at least) a CD player, mp3 playback using USB and/or SD, AUX, and Bluetooth all-in-one. And this boombox has all that plus the CD player is also mp3 disc compatible. So I can get a lot of clear quality choices outta this boombox. That Studebaker boombox i've looked at as well and I wouldn't mind owning one. There's even a newer model that's got the cassette player added to it along with everything else that the older one has.
What a piece of sheet this is. It’s slow and the temp sensors will engage if above 80 or below 40. I’m on my second one and now the cd will not read or it will play half a song and just stop. Figured I’d splurge and cough up the $100 price tag and upgrade from an unnamed brand that cost $20 and what a mistake that was. Completely disappointed with this and Sony for putting out this garbage, I think it’s discontinued now but still a BS product.

@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 And I only bought it because the Sony CFD-G505 "Xplod" I bought in 2008 started to malfunction in 2012 despite not being my main source of music. Perhaps I have just been unlucky, but that's it for me and Sony products.
Not so great when connecting blue tooth to Iphone. Volume is FAR too low!
Perhaps its the unit you have. Ive got no issues with the BT on mine. It gets loud like everything else that I play on it.
Is it Loud enough?
no
What's the price
When I bought this it was $99.
So this will play an MP3 player?
It will play mp3 files from a usb or mp3 cd. you could try a usb mp3 player on the usb port it may read it as a mp3 device. I havent tried that yet, however i may give that a try. Cause now im curious.
I’ve tried hooking up my iPhone via USB cable, it only works with USB storage media.
Can it transfer usb tracks to cd
No.
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 that sucks
It's not really an issue to me.
@@julianeltecamartinezromero4325 Go beg for a computer from someone little guy.

Опять китай-тугадум?
it doesn't have radio presets? wtf
Ya only 3. Buttons are on top.
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 oh, thanks
Why didnt you test the Mega Bass?
Wouldn't have made much of a difference using my phones mic.
I did not see a remote control.
That's because it doesn't come with one.
Thats too bad - I paid $5 for money from a Goodwill Store and it performs perfectly
How to turn it onnnnnnnn plsssss
