Corrected: Williams is right footed - but the point is still true for manual passes. Low pass and lofted pass stats are ignored (since it's completely manual). ALTHOUGH...even when using manual some lofted passes are assisted (they've curled to my players are some occasions when the power isn't 100% I'll be covering crossing in another video btw :)

Been playing on full manual passing and it's like a new game (amazing!). Played a few Fifa 21 games, and I still have six hours left on my "early access"...the game is worst than my fitness! Look forward to the vid Spoony!
The passing is too slow and underpowered for me on full manual, I can't play fast tika taka football with it and more often than not you're guaranteed to misplace passes or not get them accurate enough for the game to flow. The buffer on the power bar is also a problem, there's too much, so the ball release is too slow after you press. I find Level 1 assist passing with trigger manual where I need more freedom in certain situations is the best balance for how I like to play.
I feel on full manual and legend difficulty you are forced to play backwards it’s a good challenge they press so hard and also the defensive teams move all together as blocks of midfield and defence it’s tough to crack
Great video !!! There is no other guy in PES community who cares and brings more for offline players , and btw these info's we're geeting from you, are huge time consuming... It would be also nice to make a short video about pass support levels, because they depend of the style and difficulty you are playing. For me personaly, I found PA3 great for AI's high pressure on Legend difficulty, but with PA1 I'm able to score more and I do get more 1vs1 chances. This year seems that it's easier to score on Legend, but AI is better attacking too. PS - Pass support level 3 - imo I believe that is best for pick up games with a friends who didn't play previous verions, but are familiar with PES and they were good at some point of the series, because they tend to play more arcade style, especially passing.
Manual ground passes are still stat related and also context sensitive. The only time this hasn't been the case was the old ps2 games where manual pass was mapped to the right stick. In training this may be the case (ie 100 percent manual) but I still notice assistance and I only ever use manual. Player cards also effect manual.

It's a very different game. You need to apply much more what happens on real life on the gameplay. Focus on manual pass (you dont need it everytime, but for short pass in the opposite area is very important) and mainly have patient to build the game. Not only that, but you need to understand that receive the ball aiming the more free area you can have too. This are tips that work on real football and PES.

Hi Spoony, why did you hold L1 when you were crossing? What is the difference if you don't hold? For example you used it when you performed a low driven cross (O X 2), yet it's not on the instruction list on Pes. I get you use for the basics like performing one - twos, and player select etc

Will these skills all help toward not having a defender on your back? Bc this is all well and good when they arent jocking your nuts, but typically I cant a so much as receive a pass without a guy right on my back. Plus how do I prevent when receiving a pass , it shooting off your foot 5 yards or a header going right to your opponent.. have you done tutorials on those kind of basic things.. seems I know more about skills than the basics so I lose 1 nil to a shotty missed pass in my penalty box.. either way you rock thanks!!

I mean that would kinda break immersion of a real game when you can start pulling off perfect lobbed through balls with players like Rüdiger for example once one perfects it. I don't know these things because I have to admit, I don't really use the manual control, I just don't play long enough sessions to really get the hang of it^^'
It ignores stats. Best to use throughball as it requires less power and quicker to power up. Pass can be used in manual for throughball but I'd recommend getting good at triangle.
Love your videos spoony pizzas.. quick question here. I find the passing very finicky in pes or maybe it's me. Sometimes when I want to make the quick one touch pass the player takes two touches and passes it off at a weird angle resulting in giveaways. Is there a specific time to hit the x button .. I'm coming from FIFA so am used to the quicker gameplay.
Hi mate, it's about mixing normal passes and through balls. One touch pass skill is required for one touch passing. Passing isn't an easy thing to learn in PES as you need to take a touch of the ball generally to ensure of a successful layoff. In FIFA, you hit the pass button and it'll go where you want. PES takes stats into account better imo, making it a bit more realistic but also more challenging.
Could you please make a tutorial for double tap run with r3 (super sprint)? I discovered it in game a couple of years ago but I could not replicate it because I didn't know which button I pressed. Now I know, found it today from RUclips, but it is still very difficult to perform.
It is a general comment on PES: I can not understand that occasional slow motion gameplay in PES started from PES5 (even from earlier just I did not know). Not only players are slower and way worse and less responsive but even the ball is flying slower (so opposite team can feel it too). :) "Normal game" is good as they moving responsively, etc. I remember to older PES online where the game play was okay and when you did a substitution the gameplay became this slowmotion nonsense and your player became worst players in the World. :) E.g. your gameplay examples in this video is normal too. I started a BAL with Parma (on Top player as even Superstar was pretty ridiculous) and first 5 matches it was pretty good then 2-3 matches this slow motion playing on ice style... weather is fine. :)
@@ReeF83 Well I think I solved the problem. I played on 15 minute matches. When I set to 12 minutes that slow motion disappeared. Maybe 10 minutes is the best just I wanted me to have more time to be patient against AI. :) But manipulating pace/agility/skill is there by default. "Catch up logic" or "realism". That can cause laggy players as well but I pointed into whole physics slower. Maybe 15 min matches need more speed or I dont know. Something was happening especially when in BAL I was sub and used fast forward then switch back to normal. It was in PES19-20 as well. I rather use now 10-12 minutes at max just I wanted me to have more time against AI who tends to keep balls a lot or simply need more time to break it. But not for this cost.
Winning Eleven 5 for PS2 was the first Konami football game that start this shitty. I play at +1 speed, but it's not enough. Players have really slow movements and it's annoying. It's destroy the realism and make the gameplay too much bureaucratic. We don't want a FIFA pace, it's not this, but c'mon... Messi is a guy that have incridible fast movements and direction change. Just like many others. We just want to see thes guys playing like were see on TV.
@@ReeF83 I just promoted into PL and 2 matches in PL was crazy: at least 30-40% faster gameplay than 2nd division. Game is the same but players running like crazy (when they do not want to run they do the same static play just "faster"). Even the ball is faster (and moved a bit unrealistic with the low passes). First match against Arsenal my eyes could not even follow the ball lol. Probably I was very tired and used to the 2 season 2nd division slower, balanced play. Funny I found the 2nd division a little bit slow but that 1st division is a bit joke. But at least 85 pace player runs fast finally haha. However even 71-75 was too agile. Let's see how it goes - I do not really want to mess with the game speed setting especially if it is done automatically by the AI. :)

Spoony, hello. I recently started playing against Top Player AI. Seeing I was destroying my usual Professional rivals. I play ML and as usual, I have chosen a team in the 2nd division. I am not getting battered, if I win I usually win 2-1, draw 1-1 and lose 1-0. I just don't know how to move forward. I am trying to take this team to a new level and to set a new standard but I cannot for the life of me play a whole campaign unless I have semi decent players. Issue is that I don't know what I should be focusing on. Game reading? When I watch your videos I see how much thought goes into every move. Now that I'm in Top Player and over the year I'll be trying to get into superstar, what should I be doing more that a player playing against Professional AI might not be doing?
Its just a lot easier to curve the shot. U have to push L3 to the left or right slowly while your player is running up to kick it depending which way u need to curve it.
What is the practical difference between manual pass and manual through ball? From pass point of view it should be the same as manual is not assisted so it goes where to aim. Does the teammate react differently to it? Or uses different stat of the player? Or spin differently? Same as for lofted pass or through ball. By the way wow there are lot of passing tools besides the basic ones. :) How can I do 1on1 passes where after the first pass the player starts running? Old times it was L1+X (then triangle for through ball). I think it did not work in PES2020 either or I just did it wrong. I do not like when I want to do this my player just walk away after pass. :)
Hi mate, the biggest difference is it takes less time to power up, but that means it would be harder to play VERY short passes with it whereas manual pass it's easier but those longer passes could be intercepted due to wind up
I got a question if anyone can answer me. So i gave my pes 2020 to a store to have a discount on the price to buy pes 2021 but i haven't deleted the images of the option file from pes 2020. If i delete all the saved data and the pes 2020 completely, will this delete the images too? I'm asking so i won't have a problem with images space from option file for pes 2021
Hey I left PES 2020 due to massive Legend scripting which was too annoying (lower difficulty was too easy though). How about the offline gameplay in 2021? Is it better? :) I do not even check FIFA i do not know why. Online scripting discouraged me from playing online too so I am happy with offline if it is enjoyable.
2021 is better imo, both on superstar and legend. Probably because it's actually responsive and enjoyable mate. You won't regret it. Huge improvement over 20

I already purchased it yesterday on PC but playing on Dual shock controller (I have only regular PS4 and my PC is stronger than PS5) - hopefully the gameplay is equal to console. I remember to older series (FIFA too) that manual could break scripting (even on online) a little bit. :) Sometimes I feel that assist and basic is doing what they want - supercancel can help though.
Hold player select and push R-stick in direction of the player you want to make run. OR.... hold player select or special controls when pressing pass button.
am i the only one in the world who HATES where you have to use trigger and bumper on the same side at the same time? i never do it, i hate it, it is awkward, i never hold two fingers there, i only use index fingers for both triggers and bumpers because middle finger needs to hold the controller, its such a pain in the ass when games require you to use two fingers at once, i have no idea how people hold their controllers , its very uncomfortable and it barely holds. I swear these controllers are made for people with 6 fingers.
Looks like Mortal Kombat control or any other fighting games. It's so stupid the way dribbles and passes works on PES. People just want to play and have fun... Thanks for this vid, but it's sad that PES is using so confusing and so much controls just for a simple football game.
@@rodrigomendes3327 there is only so many buttons on the controller, though, so in order to give the player as many options on the field, as possible, there will inevitably be a combination of buttons you have to press to perform certain moves.
@@ggbbddmm Some movements are incredible hard to apply and even worst, not intuitive or consistents enough. This thing that need to realease all buttons to dribbling, for example, is incredible annoying, it's really hard to consistently apply. The other dribbles too. Super Cancel have reach too far, it was useful and easy to use on PES6, but things got too much complicated when you have to use it to head the ball properly. I don't think that game need to be hard to play and instable about controls. You can have a harder IA, this is nice, but controles? It need to be easy.

Question i have is, since you put it on manual, how does the game recognize the trough ball and normal pass? Since you control the power and the direction? Cuz i can't seem to pass those curled trough passes that i would normally pass with lvl 1 support and then i just started thinking whats the difference? I really don't notice it
Spoony, hello. I recently started playing against Top Player AI. Seeing I was destroying my usual Professional rivals. I play ML and as usual, I have chosen a team in the 2nd division. I am not getting battered, if I win I usually win 2-1, draw 1-1 and lose 1-0. I just don't know how to move forward. I am trying to take this team to a new level and to set a new standard but I cannot for the life of me play a whole campaign unless I have semi decent players. Issue is that I don't know what I should be focusing on. Game reading? When I watch your videos I see how much thought goes into every move. Now that I'm in Top Player and over the year I'll be trying to get into superstar, what should I be doing more that a player playing against Professional AI might not be doing?

Don't waste your time mate. It's possible but like... 1 out of every 30 go in
Its just a lot easier to curve the shot. U have to push L3 to the left or right slowly while your player is running up to kick it depending which way u need to curve it.

What is the practical difference between manual pass and manual through ball? From pass point of view it should be the same as manual is not assisted so it goes where to aim. Does the teammate react differently to it? Or uses different stat of the player? Or spin differently? Same as for lofted pass or through ball.
By the way wow there are lot of passing tools besides the basic ones. :)
How can I do 1on1 passes where after the first pass the player starts running? Old times it was L1+X (then triangle for through ball). I think it did not work in PES2020 either or I just did it wrong. I do not like when I want to do this my player just walk away after pass. :)
Hi mate, the biggest difference is it takes less time to power up, but that means it would be harder to play VERY short passes with it whereas manual pass it's easier but those longer passes could be intercepted due to wind up

I got a question if anyone can answer me. So i gave my pes 2020 to a store to have a discount on the price to buy pes 2021 but i haven't deleted the images of the option file from pes 2020. If i delete all the saved data and the pes 2020 completely, will this delete the images too? I'm asking so i won't have a problem with images space from option file for pes 2021
Two separate games mate. You won't have any problems even if you never deleted 2020.

Hey I left PES 2020 due to massive Legend scripting which was too annoying (lower difficulty was too easy though). How about the offline gameplay in 2021? Is it better? :) I do not even check FIFA i do not know why. Online scripting discouraged me from playing online too so I am happy with offline if it is enjoyable.
2021 is better imo, both on superstar and legend. Probably because it's actually responsive and enjoyable mate. You won't regret it. Huge improvement over 20

I may try manual control at least for shots again. I remember to older series (FIFA too) that manual could break scripting (even on online) a little bit. :) Sometimes I feel that assist and basic is doing what they want - supercancel can help though.

How do you make a player do a run?
Hold player select and push R-stick in direction of the player you want to make run. OR.... hold player select or special controls when pressing pass button.

am i the only one in the world who HATES where you have to use trigger and bumper on the same side at the same time? i never do it, i hate it, it is awkward, i never hold two fingers there, i only use index fingers for both triggers and bumpers because middle finger needs to hold the controller, its such a pain in the ass when games require you to use two fingers at once, i have no idea how people hold their controllers , its very uncomfortable and it barely holds. I swear these controllers are made for people with 6 fingers.

Looks like Mortal Kombat control or any other fighting games. It's so stupid the way dribbles and passes works on PES. People just want to play and have fun... Thanks for this vid, but it's sad that PES is using so confusing and so much controls just for a simple football game.
That is what FIFA is for. People, who want to simulate real football, play PES.

@@rodrigomendes3327 there is only so many buttons on the controller, though, so in order to give the player as many options on the field, as possible, there will inevitably be a combination of buttons you have to press to perform certain moves.
@@ggbbddmm Some movements are incredible hard to apply and even worst, not intuitive or consistents enough. This thing that need to realease all buttons to dribbling, for example, is incredible annoying, it's really hard to consistently apply. The other dribbles too. Super Cancel have reach too far, it was useful and easy to use on PES6, but things got too much complicated when you have to use it to head the ball properly. I don't think that game need to be hard to play and instable about controls. You can have a harder IA, this is nice, but controles? It need to be easy.

Man Pes 20 & 21 has the worst passes! Most easy passes miss the players and they look stupid. I miss PES 19 where players where aware of every pass
