- Liberal Senator and former ambassador to Israel Dave Sharma warns Iran is “likely to come off second best” against Israel.
His remarks come after Iran fired nearly 200 missiles at Israel.
“Israel has been a victim here of unprovoked attack,” Mr Sharma told Sky News Australia.
“It does have a right to defend itself and that does include retaliation”.
My experience is that most Iranians are OK people. It's the government, Revolutionary Guards and a minority that are off their head and are the problem.

It’s also been reported that Iran had sought a meeting with the UN Security Council prior to the strike to seek a diplomatic resolution, some media outlets note that the relevant US leadership decided against the meeting. Iran then reported that they acted in self defence in these strikes. If this is true, or not, either way, the majority of us want an end to this conflict. Both sides are putting their people at risk by continuing this. Israel needs to get out of Lebanon and occupied Palestine. Islamic nations need to assure the safety of the Israeli people if they are to stop attacking resistance forces. The actions made by the Netanyahu government and related institutions over the last 12 months need to be investigated and political and diplomatic measures be taken so that this does not happen again.
