I have been drinking Portuguese wine since 2004 and it is some of the best wines I have ever had to this day. Sadly, there’s not a lot of wine stores that carry the wines.

Guys... I work in wine merchants in uk and believe me...I've tried so many wines but the problem.of Portuguese wines are the labeling, they don't know how to atract the international market because no one can pronounce Portuguese wine labels.
    But they are beautiful wines

You should try wine made from the grape variety "encruzado" from the dão region

I will definitely try it if the wine store carries it. Thank you for sharing.

Two of the main problems of Portuguese is that they don’t travel enough and are not cultured enough , so they cannot really compare their products with foreign products. When the lady says that-Portuguese cuisine is better than French’s or Spanish’s is obviously false, but she doesn’t simply realize it,when the other guy says that Portuguese wines are better than foreign wines for similar price it is true in some cases and false in other cases. The problem is that they don’t know, so they do not improve, a restaurant keeps cooking the same dishes for 20 years, similar to those of the 20 other restaurants that exist on the same street. It is very unfortunate. There are exceptions, a few outstanding restaurants that present an outstanding quality and do not copy other and very good and original wines from many producers, like Vallado, Niepoort, Maçanita, etc.

I live in Bermuda where Portuguese is kind a second language. So many Portuguese here. But looking at my suppliers list, largest on island... 4 red wines, 1 rose, one white. That's it. That is embarrassing. I'll dive deeper into it with other suppliers. But Prats & Symington is only on the list that looks interesting. Porta 6 sounds like cheap and no that good
