This was wonderful! Deals with topography, weather, geology, etc. I usually drink wine that comes in plastic drums but the old ways are certainly best in this craft!

Amazing content, I'm taking the introductory sommelier course this weekend and learning about the French regions is a bit maddening. This is a perfectly concise, detailed video, thank you so much! Subbed

770,000,000 bottles?! 770 million? Can I ask where that number came from? Thats amazing.

Gavin Quinney on Jancis Robinson's website noted that the official figures for 2016 showed production was 577.2 million litres, the equivalent of 770 million bottles. It was the largest harvest since 2006.

Just for comparison's sake, 2017 was a bad yield year due to frost in much of Bordeaux. Bordeaux produced 350 million litres, the equivalent of 467 million bottles, in 2017. The average yield in Bordeaux is closer to what we saw in 2016.

I wish I could say. It really depends upon what your price point is and what you are looking for. Even then, there are people who would be far more qualified to assist.

Thanks, yes, that was mentioned in an earlier comment. My error. Sometimes you just get going and miss something basic like that.
