Townshend used to claim he didnt much apreciate Moons drumming. Just the fact that he wrote amazing journey/sparks prooves that he knew he had a genius behind the drums!!!
I'm glad that I was able to discover The Who in 1969, when I was 8, with the album, Tommy. I pointed my speakers out of my window and my neighbors hated it.
Increíble documento jamás pensé q no podría ver una actuación en directo como la de Live leeds 1970. Y esta es una réplica exacta😮😮😮😮 q grande Keith moon loco maravilloso.
Amazing Journey is my favorite track on the album and Daltreys voice feels so much more powerful here then the album version. I just love his delivery of the lines and it adds so much more weight to the lyrics on the song . Also Keith moon is just on another level!!
The editing here is superb, especially if you pay close attention to Pete and Keith’s hands. Really great use of editing and the LAL’s sound is responsible for making many loyal fans of The Who.
The video is a combination of footages from Woodstock and another concert. You can tell by Roger's and Keith's changing shirts! The audio is all from Live at Leeds.
There’s a short 4 minute black and white reel of Leeds footage that you can find if you search long enough, but unfortunately I don’t think the full concert was filmed. One of my favorite concerts/live albums of all time. Thanks for watching
The Who (my all-time favorite band, second to none), demonstrating why they were the ultimate band. The drumming (Keith Moon) and guitar (Pete Townshend) are amazing, but it's the bass that really stands out (John Entwistle). There are other great bands that I like (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, but for me, The Who is tops...
there used to be a split screen of townshend playing AJ and Sparks from woodstock incredible energy from that footage i cant find it on youtube anymore is there a link out there ?
I’ve never seen color footage of AJ at woodstock or a split screen version unfortunately. I am going to be releasing a higher quality version of these videos if I can within the next few months though
This is what real music sounds like, fluid, raw, unpretentious. Not like most of the $hit, made by posers and careerists cashing money and fame... bland and soulless.
@@brunildacuadra8522 In my personal opinion each member was just as important, you can’t take any member out of the equation without the music drastically changing. Pete and Keith were easily the main source of energy of The Who. Thanks for watching
why on earth would you ruin all this footage with lesser performance sterile LAL show audio LAL ain't even close to Coliseum performance... if you wanna do this editing stuff at least add proper audio from 1969 and not the disappointment that was LAL since the day it came out, LAL was sonically subdued show on purpose
If you want to watch the Coliseum performance with mono room audio there’s a ton of them on RUclips. There’s raw soundboards of Leeds that exist too if you want a less “sterile” version. The 2 hour performance kicks ass and imo is better than Hull, Wight, Woodstock, Tanglewood, and yes even the great Coliseum show. This is some of the best Who videos compiled with what I consider the best version of Tommy. You’d have to look really hard to find a higher fidelity version of The Who live.
I can't believe i liked the Beatles more than the WHO,but believe me i realize now how wrong i was,The Who was just a fantastic band
You can just like both, it's fine.
気にするな?みんな、そんなもんだよ!
Either/Or? Really? I've happily adored both fantastic bands for decades!
@@jameszinsmeister5930And a few other ones!!
Beatles are basic hippies. Townshend understood and applied the art of the time
This is the pinnacle of rock music. I feel amazing after listening to this journey !!!!!
Townshend used to claim he didnt much apreciate Moons drumming. Just the fact that he wrote amazing journey/sparks prooves that he knew he had a genius behind the drums!!!
I have always loved the sound of those old school Premier drums. Tympanic and open tone. Kieth was a Tour de Force.
Keith’s drumming is beyond real
He'd be so much faster if he held the sticks correctly
@@Mynamesalexahahahaha😂
@@MynamesalexaKeith had a style NOBODY can replicate. Pete and Roger followed his lead . That a very negative comment.. IMO
I saw him twice. He was a phenomenom.
Keith always looks like he isn't even playing the drums. That's why he will always be the greatest drummer ever.
The Who sound is so good hear. All elements brilliant! Doesn’t get much better than this!
One of the greatest live rock acts ever! ❤
My all time favorite drum intro/solo ever!
- me too 👍

Daltrey keeps changing his shirt during the song. It's amazing!
Keith does too.

When that guitar comes in at 4:20 literal chills
Watch Pete adjust guitar & amp to get different sounds
That's actually John's Bass coming in, you're hearing at 4:20.
I meant the guitar at 4:17

So awesome, brings me back, brings me forward, what a fantastic performance… the energy is timeless

Absolutely amazing!
Holy-Moley!❤
John Entwistle melhor baixista e Keith Moon melhor batera. Pete e Roger tambem
excepcionais. The Who está no meu Top 3, com Beatles e Led Zeppelin.
Fav who combo…
Moon The Loon, in fine form as usual !
Yes! AJ/Sparks from this era is probably one of his most challenging songs on drums. Thank you for watching!
Love it! Under rated track.
Never saw this clip before. Wow!!

I don't think anyone could deliver their songs better than Roger Daltry. Total commitment, always. And the screams!!
Some of this is from the Woodstock 69 show.
