I have loved this show since I was a kid. Each summer I'd spend a week at my grandparents' farm out in rural Nebraska. Their little town reminded me so much of Mayberry, right down to the tiny grocery store.
I love how there was always an extra chair in the kitchen and dining rooms to accommodate any neighbors and friends who may drop in during meal times. Don't forget about the small back porch of the kitchen where Aunt Bee kept her "bargain meat" in the chest freezer that was breaking down. Wonderful video!🧡

Hello Marina, another great job. The Andy Griffin house is one of my favorites because of the cozy ambiance. The kitchen did not offer a lot of counter space or cabinets like today’s world, yet the character was able to cook and bake. The rooms were sparsely furnished with only the necessities and yet it provided comfort when you walk in. In today’s world people have wall to wall cabinets and counter space and the majority of people don’t want to cook. Homes are overstuffed with pictures, sculptures, mirrors and various other home decor. Furniture although may look Pinterest pretty are hard and so uncomfortable. What attracted me to the show was the warm ambiance of conversations and meals that were shared. This only proves material stuff can not replace family and friends fellowship. Marina, are you a set or home designer?
My mother loves that show! She binge watches it every day. I sit and watch it with her sometimes. I'm going to try to get her to watch this video, she would get a kick out of it. Its interesting how they changed the set so many times. Great video!
That was absolutely excellent. I cant imagine how much time and effort goes into creating something like this. This was one of your best so far. And oddly enough, after watching the tour of the Ricardo's apartment, I was going to, but did not, suggest doing Andy Taylors house! What a happy surprise to see it today! I've been watching 'The Andy Griffith Show' in the late afternoons this winter with all those back to back episodes on TVLand and am amazed how many of the earlier episodes I haven't seen. It might have been that I had to be in bed by it's air time! At any rate, it's still one of my favorite shows from 'the golden age'. Thank you for such a detailed, wonderful and nostalgic tour.

We always enjoy these and especially when they are of a show we like so much! It was so nice to hear from Clint Howard about his father and how much he appreciated him. You are an excellent host and artist!
My goodness, Marina. Your work manages to surpass expectations every time. From your interviews to details such as the "B" on Barney's coffee cup, to the heartfelt scripting to remind us that the Taylor home made sure Barney felt at home with his own coffee cup. From the absolute care you place in your research to the passion you show for each of these movie/tv homes/characters/actors. You are creating a lexicon critical to the preservation of the film/tv industry and to the hearts of so many of us. To say thank you doesn't seem enough. I hope that you have all you need to continue your work. Richest of blessings to you.
This was a fantastic trip down memory lane. I've seen every episode of The Andy Griffith Show probably a dozen times and still watch it anytime it's on. I love your attention to detail, with Opie's slingshot on his nightstand and in the courthouse Barney's inspirational photo of Rock Hudson, Leon's peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and in the back room the hot plate and coffee pot and especially the Aladdin's lamp where Barney tried to conjure up the spirit of Count Istvan Teleky ... fantastic! Well done. 👏👏👏
🤩This is AMAZING!!! 🤩 I just stumbled across this and I look forward to watching more of your wonderful videos. This was awesome!!! Thank you so much for doing these videos! The Andy Grifith show is one of my favorites! The bonus scene at the end with Floyd (Allan Newsome did a great impersonation!) was great! As we were going down the Mayberry streets at the end, I was remembering all the different episodes those scenes were in! Like when Opie was waiting for Karen on the little white porch and the Alley next to the movies was in "Barneys Uniform" episode Great job! I love this channel!
Thank you Marina for this fantastic, most enjoyable video! I started watching this television show when I was a boy home sick from school and they were showing it as reruns then. I still watch it several times a week to this day! I never seem to tire of it!
Marina, I can't imagine how many hours these take--and that you're so willing to painstakingly create these detailed models and share them with us. What a treasure you're giving us! I have a question about the Taylor home, specifically the second floor. I'm wondering how they get upstairs since there's no staircase landing on the second floor. Do you have any thoughts about that? My guess is that the stairs would need to land somewhere in or near Opie's bedroom.
I had to cut out a lot of potential content, since this episode was already so long. I wanted to cover the stairs. They couldn't exist where they are shown for at least two reasons. When you enter the home, as you'll remember, the wall with the closet and piano, has the stairwell going past the wall. But we see no bump out on the exterior. It is flat. But, even if the stairwell could be there, upstairs it would come out at the front of the house, instead of facing toward the back. And even though that's where you'd end up facing, we were shown them arriving next to Andy's room when they came up the stairs, facing the opposite way -toward the back of the home. There's more, but to make a long story short - the upstairs layout we were shown on tv is mythical. 😔
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Thanks for the speedy and thoughtful reply. I know that TV homes--especially the second floors--are completely oblivious to any reality. It's a pity, but I guess it does make for better television, which is their primary goal in the end. Well, sincerest thanks again for sharing your wonderful work with us!
I've noticed that as well... Barney lived in a boarding house, and Thelma Lou had a house, no husband nor a job, Mayberry was an ideal place to live 😂😂
You must not be a die-hard fan of the show because you would know where Barney lived. In the boarding house owned my Mrs. Mendelbright. Mrs. Mendelbright was "the most faithful member of church" and was awarded a white Bible. She was hoodwinked by a stranger in town who was going to marry her for her money She had kicked Barney out of his room for cooking chili on a hot plate which was set on Mrs Mendelbright's mother's dresser which came all the way from Fort Lauderdale. TRUE FANS know where Barney lived.
I loved what you said about TV homes... there was my real home, a grim, grubby farmhouse on a tobacco farm... and my TV home, with Mr. Rogers, Picture Picture, and that utterly bizarre couch-table!
I loved this! I really enjoyed going back in time to see their home, the courthouse and the tour of Mayberry! You did an exquisite job making this video! Thank you!

Thank you for all these tours of homes we grew up with from shows of our childhood. I still watch many of them from time to time. I know these took you along time to create and they are fantastic.
I really enjoyed that. This show is still so timeless and comforting. My husband has pointed out that the map above Andy’s desk at the courthouse is supposed to be of their county. But it is the state of Idaho upside down . . . Too funny.
I have always wondered about the TV homes and how they were laid out on television compared to as if they were real homes.. may more I love to see like Little House on the Prairie, and others alike.. however one series on television from the 1970s. Emergency was actually a real fire station in Carson, CA. Station 127. but I would love to see more so keep them coming.. and I love how you do each video.. and cannot wait to see what is next. now back to Mayberry, I remember as a small child we lived in a small town in central South Dakota, that actually had the same small town feel as Mayberry, where everyone knew everyone. and love to see times go back to much simpler times. Keep up the awesome work you do and its inspiring me to maybe hopefully in the near future I can can redecorate my apartment in the same way you recreate these tv homes
I love hearing that these videos inspire designing a room. 😊 There was a little rural Nebraska town where my grandparents lived. I would visit there every summer and it always reminded me of Mayberry. Maybe there are Mayberry-like towns all over. 😊
Love your very thorough attention to detail... you take what is for me a dysfunction and mental confusion, and channel it in a very productive way! You cover every detail...it's soooo impressive!

I was hoping someone would catch that! Glad you liked the episode. And, lucky you getting to ride around in a Ford Galaxie....even if there were no seatbelts.

Fantastic job on Mayberry. Big thanks to Marina. I love architecture and seeing her rendition of these buildings is so much fun. I especially appreciate her renditions of the classics. I grew up watching these old shows and even as a child I was fascinated by the homes and buildings in them and, as a girl, I was also fascinated with the clothing the characters wore.

So true that things cannot replace family.
I have a degree in architecture and an obsession with set design. 😊
Hello, actually his last name is not Griffin. It is Griffith. Andy Griffith.
My mother loves that show! She binge watches it every day. I sit and watch it with her sometimes. I'm going to try to get her to watch this video, she would get a kick out of it. Its interesting how they changed the set so many times. Great video!
Thank you. It seems like a lot of people watch this show with family. It's interesting how multi-generational the appeal is.
Another slam dunk, Marina. You are so meticulous. The Clint interview was a real bonus. Thank you.
I felt so lucky to get that interview! And that Allan "Floyd" agreed to do his parts.
That was absolutely excellent.
I cant imagine how much time and effort goes into creating something like this.
I am an artist myself with the Bluetooth speakers I make and I know about time and effort goimg into something and the reward of people loving your work.
I love your work and I am greatly enjoying these videos.
Can't wait to watch more. Thank you for the work you put into each one.
Thank you so much. It sounds like you really understand doing something for the love of it and all the time that goes into it. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, you really outdid yourself with this one! I loved the home tour and all the extras including interviews. Loved it! 💗
Thank you! I'll try to keep interviews coming. Next up is Family Affair and I have an interview with Kathy Garver, "Cissy" to go along with it. She has great behind-the-scenes stories!
Thank you so much for this excellent video. And mostly for the journey back to a simpler time and safer place. This is my favorite show.

Hello Marina , Great Job! Takes me back to my childhood.I always wanted to live in Mayberry…Thank you for this tour.
Glad it brought you back to happy times.
Thank you. Glad you liked it. It's one of my all-time favorite shows.
The Andy Griffith Show is my favor show!
I've seen andy Griffith show so much i can quote most parts at any time during any episode from season 1-5. I love this show. Every time i feel depressed or having a bad day, I'll throw on this show and it makes me feel better. Never gets old.
I'm a huge TAGS lover too. We quote the show at our house all the time. And, you're right, it's a feel-good show. 😊

"That Girl" had a "Daddy" just like in real life 💕
I never noticed the bookshelf in the living room in Andy's home
Thank you ❤️
Someone in an Andy Griffith Facebook group pointed it out to me.
We always enjoy these and especially when they are of a show we like so much! It was so nice to hear from Clint Howard about his father and how much he appreciated him. You are an excellent host and artist!
Thank you. I felt so lucky to get Clint and "Floyd." 😊
Sweet dreams
My goodness, Marina. Your work manages to surpass expectations every time. From your interviews to details such as the "B" on Barney's coffee cup, to the heartfelt scripting to remind us that the Taylor home made sure Barney felt at home with his own coffee cup. From the absolute care you place in your research to the passion you show for each of these movie/tv homes/characters/actors. You are creating a lexicon critical to the preservation of the film/tv industry and to the hearts of so many of us. To say thank you doesn't seem enough. I hope that you have all you need to continue your work. Richest of blessings to you.
Thank you so much. Very kind words.
This was a fantastic trip down memory lane. I've seen every episode of The Andy Griffith Show probably a dozen times and still watch it anytime it's on. I love your attention to detail, with Opie's slingshot on his nightstand and in the courthouse Barney's inspirational photo of Rock Hudson, Leon's peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and in the back room the hot plate and coffee pot and especially the Aladdin's lamp where Barney tried to conjure up the spirit of Count Istvan Teleky ... fantastic! Well done. 👏👏👏
Oh, I love that you found so many of my little nods to different episodes 😊

Thank you so much for doing these videos!
The Andy Grifith show is one of my favorites!
The bonus scene at the end with Floyd (Allan Newsome did a great impersonation!) was great!
As we were going down the Mayberry streets at the end, I was remembering all the different episodes those scenes were in!
Like when Opie was waiting for Karen on the little white porch and the Alley next to the movies was in "Barneys Uniform" episode
Great job! I love this channel!
Thank you so much!
Thank you Marina for this fantastic, most enjoyable video!
I started watching this television show when I was a boy home sick from school and they were showing it as reruns then. I still watch it several times a week to this day! I never seem to tire of it!

Bewitched had Grandma Moses paintings as well. Do you think their is a correlation?
Thank you so much 💕
There sure could be. I should look into that. I didn't see this particular one in the Bewitched house though.

That was amazing! Thank you❤️

Where did Barney live? I find it amusing that ThelmaLou had a house and she didn't work outside of the home teehee 😂😂😆
I've noticed that as well... Barney lived in a boarding house, and Thelma Lou had a house, no husband nor a job, Mayberry was an ideal place to live 😂😂
So true!
I saw one episode recently where she told Barney that she had to get back to the office. Interesting.
@@jillmorgan7309 I remember that episode 😂😂😂❤️🙏🏽...ha ha 🤗

There was a little rural Nebraska town where my grandparents lived. I would visit there every summer and it always reminded me of Mayberry. Maybe there are Mayberry-like towns all over. 😊

Another fantastic video! I love your attention to detail - for example at 14:36 I hope everybody noticed the reference to the famous episode "Opie the Birdman" (S4e1).
