A simple trick is leaving the greased bushing inside the freezer a couple minutes. It shrinks just a little bit to get the thing in easier. The same could be achieved if you have a hot bath. Just leave the arms there a couple minutes to let it expand just a little bit.
Thanks R.A.C. That's a great tip. I am sure that would have made the task a lot easier. I will keep that in mind next time. Thanks for watching my channel.
Nissan Altima/maxima/350/370z if you support the lower control arm and disconnect the upper ball joint from the knuckle you can just use a socket and snap on ball joint press. (The otc type ones have limited clearance)
I will never understand why the manufacturers don’t use anti seize on these suspension parts. If I was back East, I would definitely disassemble and apply anti seize to all relevant components.
Hi James; I ordered it on eBay, The company is TOPCN AUTOPARTSIt was a little over $100 as I recall. Go on eBay and type this in the search window as follows: (27pc Press & Pull Sleeve Kit Bush Bearing Removal Insertion Tool Set) Then scroll down until you find one. Mine came in a black case, They all seem to be in red cases now however it is the same kit. Thanks for watching my video.
Thanks for your comment and watching my video, I have torches and I thought about using them at the time. I did not because the cross member was made out of aluminum, I had heated a bolt yeas ago in aluminum and the aluminum housing melted away very instantly lol. I decided to just try loosening it with a bar because the other side came of very easily that way. If I could go back in time I would have carefully tried a little heat first. But then I would not have the fun of buying the kit and making the video. lol, thanks again
I purchased the kit on eBay for about 90 US dollars. Copy the following ( Universal Press and Pull Sleeve Remove Install bushes/Bearings/Seals Tool Kit ) Then paste it in the eBay search window. Thanks for your inquiry.
Thanks, Kountry; I did not pay anywhere near that for mine. However, I purchased it about 4 years ago. I know prices on everything have gone wild lately.
I have a couple of ball joint press kits in my box. Perhaps an adaptor from one of the kits may be of help however you still need those long threaded ball bearing rods that come with this kit.
@@FierceFurious the ball joint press would work just fine for this job if you had adapters that fit the bushing and everything fit inside the press. The only short comings of the ball joint press is it’s bulky/heavy, and it has limited use as a bushing press because the press doesn’t fit around many bushings. A lower control arm probably wouldn’t fit in the ball joint press to press out the bushing
Thanks, I am sure that'll be helpful to the viewers. This was one of my earlier efforts. I am trying to do a better job of getting to the point quicker these days.

Exact same thing I'm dealing with on my 350Z. Thanks for the video.
I am glad you found the video of help, thanks for watching.
Great video!! I wanted to see the kit in action before ordering. I believe it will work for my needs. Wish me luck!
Thanks, I don't use it often but at times the kit is a life saver.
Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing. Cheers.
Thanks, it really got me out of a jam on that occasion.
i did just that on my e36 m3.... what a nightmare that turned out to be, and still is which is why im here lol
Even with the kit it was a tough job. Thanks for taking the time to place a comment and thanks for watching my channel.

Thanks for sharing that. I will try it next time.
Absolutely great video, and I don't give many compliments on You Tube videos.
Thanks for the kind words Max; Glad you found the video and found it helpful.
Aint that always how it is..... you get ready to do a simple job but don’t have what you need to do it!😳😂😂😂😂😂
If you buy the tool you need you will always have it and it will still be cheaper than paying a shop.
Nice. I want to try cutting cups with the right sized diameter pipe instead of using money on a full kit
Let me know how that goes. I remember the kit was quite pricy and I have only used it a couple of times.
If I owned or had access to a lathe, I would definitely make tools. Press cups would be easy. Tool steel or 4140.

It is easy. they don't want us fixing the cars ourselves. Furthermore, they would preferer we trade them in every 3 or 4 years.
enjoyed the video. great job
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching my channel
Does that set presses wheel bearings or need a different one?
That set is not for wheel bearings. I only use it for suspension bushings.
what is the brand or name of that kit or set. it looks very complete and with bearing washers is prob good quality.

why not heat it up first with a torch before trying to loosen?

will that bushing press kit work on any car or just your nissan?
Most front wheel drive vehicles, Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
To correct myself it does not necessarily need to be a front wheel drive. it should be usefull on just about any car or truck.
Where did you buy the press kit?

THIS SETS GERMAN. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ADD IT TO MY TOOL SETS. ITS $600 AN LESS. WORTH EVERY PENNY MADE IN GERMAN FOR ALL CARS
Thanks, Kountry; I did not pay anywhere near that for mine. However, I purchased it about 4 years ago. I know prices on everything have gone wild lately.
would have ball joint press kit worked on this? you probably have that set in your toolbox.

Will this kit work 4 hgv use.. ? 😉..
To be honest I have never worked on a big rig.
Those threads take some serious abuse doing this work. Best hope they're built for the long haul. Lol
Yes; make sure you lubricate them.
where did u get the kit?
I ordered it on eBay I don't remember the cost I think it was about $120
@@richardspaulding5035 ok thank you I think I found the kit you have thanks again
Shock
Yes, technically it was indeed a shock bussing, but the procedure would be the same.
