It's not all about specs. Different cameras can have the same specs and sensor but produce very different results. There's a lot of stuff going on in how the cameras work that is not made public. Most of these kinds of cameras add horrible digital sharpness to the footage as part of the compression, baked into log files. Photography cameras are more likely to be designed that way than video cameras. You can talk about recording options and dynamic range all day but the biggest difference I see in footage from a consumer camera vs a cinema camera or more pro one is the digital sharpness applied to the image. It makes a huge difference, you can see it on youtube, and it's the biggest thing I want to avoid. I'd guess this camera would be much less likely to have that problem then the g9ii.
Viewed CineD GH7 review. I see the GH7 hot shoe has been beefed up to support a cow and 3 milk buckets. Seriously... How much weight can a hotshoe handle before it snaps?
Hi, I have a little question for you, if you can help me here, please. I want to switch from the Nikon D500, but I'm not sure whether to choose the Nikon Z7II or the Sony A7IV (I mostly do portrait and studio photography).
Hello Mr. “Conspiracies”, I’m a trucker driving across the United States(superior country) and I was inspired by you and other(better) content creators to purchase a real camera to make mediocre videos. I ordered the canon r6mii with the 24-105mm for some talking head and rf100-500 for some wildlife. Did I waste my money or will the combo do? Should I have gone different route? Everything is still returnable, unlike the hours I’ve spent watching your videos. Thanks in advance. Ps I actually love your content despite its country of origin.
LOL ... I feel kinda exactly the same about GH7. Hard to find differences between this and S9 II. Sure more expensive media :D. I would love to see BRAW tooooooooooooooooooo.
Noo, the GH7 has nothing to do with the G92 for codec (ProRes Raw), various recording modes and with unlimited time thanks to the internal fan and the ventilation grid. Basically it is the S52x in the M43 format. The only downside is that ProRes Raw recording is not compatible with DaVinci Resolve. I agree with you for the ProRes Raw, and I add that the sensor, derived from G92, has been redesigned but I think the main purpose is unlimited recording. About Canon C400 I can't say anything because I don't have Canon cine recorder. But I think it's an upgrade of C300 but at a cheaper price than the C500.
This is an absolute master class on how to do a review. I watched several other reviewers fawn over this camera. they’re all saying how much better it was than the previous version, etc.. In this video, Kasey demonstrates his cyclopedic knowledge of virtually every camera system in existence and puts this new release in its proper place. none of the other reviewers have bothered to go into such granular detail like Kasey. I wouldn’t consider buying a camera for videography without hearing his take on it first.
Next on @cameraconspiracies: Vlogging with Panavision. Just think of all the amazing. Squirrel footage that we will see. Maybe with any luck. Flat earth Santa, will rent you the system!!
I was hanging out for un-cropped 4:3 at 50fps… Or at the very least proxy recording in the limited 4:3 modes. I guess I’ll start wait in for the gh8 all over again
Yeah,...the G9-II does overheat. That's why I didn't buy it. I might shoot live music concerts or stage plays. I shoot 3 hour interviews, I do day-long presentation events where my camera is turned on at 8am and runs all day and only turns off at 6pm. I will never buy a camera without a cooling fan ever again. Yep,..got my GH7 on pre-order.
Question: why not use a dedicated broadcast video camera that has the functionality to record for hours upon hours? Ex: Sony PXW-Z90V - Panasonic Lumix BGH1/Panasonic HC-X1500. Why use a hybrid photo/video camera like the GH7?
@@YaYousef5 The GH 7 has unlimited recording times due to the built in fan - the GH9 Mark II might overheat - He’s trying to shoot three hour interviews.

@@cameraconspiracies CVP’s tests confirmed that in the full frame mode you can shoot 4K 120, it’s likely a binned mode since you need to be in the XF recording modes but it does work.
Down sampling from 6K to 4K works up to 60p in the XF recording modes too.
ruclips.net/video/Lqn9Alkj5bU/видео.htmlsi=ecdsHs8tlF0sZWs_ at 13:29 mins in they explain this.
It’s hard to find this detail in the tech specs on Canon site, but I’ll keep looking for a second confirmation.
@@cameraconspiracies Just doubling down here. The 4K 120 Mode is available uncropped when shooting full frame xfavc long gop. Verified here. ruclips.net/video/kw3Lea8giCw/видео.html
Like I said, the Raw is cropped to s35 when shooting 120 fps, but the compressed codec is not.
That cat on the initial image looks awesome - you are it's underling?
Finally your videos actually look amazing but just now these days since you figured out how to use the colors correctly! Lol, I still love your content and been following you for a long time but now your videos look amazing! >;)))
Did you not get this camera to review? If GU did, thought you would.
LOL ... I feel kinda exactly the same about GH7. Hard to find differences between this and S9 II. Sure more expensive media :D.
I would love to see BRAW tooooooooooooooooooo.
S9 II does not have a fan and other things
You make videos every day. How in the hell do you do it?! 👊
Hey sir.... thanks ❤
"Black Magic Johnson" 😂
" I hate you, I love you." You like Pannie Boy really.... 😂😂
I need to see your lightning setup with a little rim light on your hair to separate you from the background 😁👍
Next on @cameraconspiracies: Vlogging with Panavision. Just think of all the amazing. Squirrel footage that we will see.
Maybe with any luck. Flat earth Santa, will rent you the system!!
I was hanging out for un-cropped 4:3 at 50fps…
Or at the very least proxy recording in the limited 4:3 modes.
I guess I’ll start wait in for the gh8 all over again
exactly, gh7 doesn’t even do open gate in raw internally. but it can externally over hdmi? bs
I wish they released LX10 mk2 with phase-detect and no-crop 4K...
Sony A9III is superior in every measurable thing, only a LOSER would not buy A9III.
Are you, a LOSER?
Question: why not use a dedicated broadcast video camera that has the functionality to record for hours upon hours? Ex: Sony PXW-Z90V - Panasonic Lumix BGH1/Panasonic HC-X1500. Why use a hybrid photo/video camera like the GH7?
Because those cameras have a smaller sensor and worse low light performance.
@@asafblasbergvideographer Ah, I see. If you want good low light performance, you get a m4/3 camera instead.
@@YaYousef5 The GH 7 has unlimited recording times due to the built in fan - the GH9 Mark II might overheat - He’s trying to shoot three hour interviews.
the irony is that the gh7 is likely the perfect camera for casey but he's being too blinded by zeiss flat-earth UV-light flares to see
best hairstyle so far
I generally wanna know does your channel end when you actually find that perfect cam lol?
