#Marines have lots to celebrate as Fleet Week New York continues through the weekend. Marines from Marine Air Group 49 reenlisted in a ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial, and the Quantico Marine Corps Band rocked Times Square with a live performance.
#FWNY24, now in its 36th year, is a time-honored celebration of the sea services that brings the citizens of New York City and the surrounding tri-state area together with Marines, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen.
Throughout the week, participants can tour ships, experience military static displays, and see drill and musical performances that showcase the expertise, excellence, and patriotism of America’s maritime services.

When I join the Marine Corps in 1965. The drill instructor told us formation I think two times. He thought that we’re all gonna go to Vietnam. Some of you will die. The ones that come home are gonna be loaded down with ribbons. Be humble only where the most important ones. We’re not the army. The army likes to have 10 rolls of ribbons for somebody’s done one tour.
It's actually not. Pull up the pay scale and tell me how ribbons are a factor.

Yea I was 17 when I started everything back in ‘98. I was in the DEP program until I graduated. My recruiter would come every Saturday and take us to PT for a few hours. One of the best decisions I made. Wish I could have reenlisted but I had a back injury my 3rd year in

The armed services are a politically neutral organization, and that extends to it's members. While serving, you can't criticize the president.
And yet, when we go into a courtroom, we are subject to a territorial judge with likely corrupted nepotistic ties.

First, they always sound like twice their number. And...
Everyone is, first, a rifleman.
0311s are riflemen. Going to the range once per year doesn’t make you a rifleman. 😂
