Every spring, hundreds of young men and women at colleges and universities across America raise their right hands and swear to defend the Constitution as commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps. While they are uniform in their appearance and their strict adherence to the high standards of our Corps, each of these new second lieutenants also brings a unique set of motivations, experiences, and perspectives to their service.

Same, same... Being a son of immigrants means growing up in the community of immigrants of the same origin. I didn't feel like an American until I was in basic training, surrounded by many recruits of different heritage, all being "equally worthless." When I was finally addressed as "Marine!", I truly felt I took the final step toward being an American. Semper Fi never dies, we just fight in a different direction!

I too am proud of you young Marine.
A word of advice from an old lifer: Always be true to the Corps, the Colors, and most important, always stay true to your God family, and this wonderful nation.
Unfortunately, there are those in leadership positions within our armed forces who are doing their best to break down the spirit and attitude of our troops to be more acceptable to the "woke attitude" a new America. That's a guaranteed failed system. Guaranteed to fail the nation when our troops are needed to defend her.
Meanwhile, the media is doing their part to convince the general public that this country isn't worth saving or fighting for. And those of us who believe it is are racists & radicals.
Today's service members don't have external enemies as your father, & grandfather did. Nowdays, many personnel in leadership positions within Washington and the military too easily side with the wrong guys rather than our allies. Especially during this administration.
During my career, we were told to always remain vigilant because your enemy will destroy you & your comrades. With the woke powers that be, today's service members should remain vigilant of those at the top... If not, wokeness will prevail & our military will fail. And thus goes the nation.
It's no longer the American Armed Forces your family & I proudly served. It's now up to the young, dedicated, patriots like yourself to constantly keep this nation's services on track, with one goal only, to defend the nation from our enemies.
Not to take sides in the politics of Washington with one side over the other as it is now.
Never in the history of the United States Armed Forces have so many senior officers and Senior enlisted personnel been fired for "no confidence," as we have witnessed under the Obama & Biden Administrations. Three this month (Aug.,'24) alone.
Something is dreadfully wrong within our military.
And it stinks of civilian wokeness manipulation.
Wokeness will, and is destroying this nation internally.
From Captains down to E-6, it doesn't matter! They're Fired.
I have a strong suspicion, these leadership personnel would not go along with the woke guidelines on the new indoctrination format.
