What ISO setting did you use for the night shots? ISO for slo-mo night shots? Did you use any noise reduction in post on the night shots, or were these straight out of camera?

Bomb unboxing and low light tests, Stephan! Thank you!! Now I want one of these bad boys to take on vacation. I was going to go for a GH5, but now I think I've changed my mind. Coupled with that prime lens, it looks to be a great combo, especially for night shoots.

Interesting Vid, I'm in the same boat I moved from Canon a month ago and LOVE the A7III. I shoot landscapes and was going to go for the R3 but don't need that many Megapixels. I got the Zeiss Batis 18mm 2.8 and Sony GM 24mm 1.4, plus the Sony 85mm 1.8 and my only Zoom is the Sony 24-105 G Lens. I finished my requirements with Sigma MC 11 for my Tamron 70-200 G2, Canon 300 2.8 and Sigma 105 Macro.
I would love to see this features in a cinema body camera and a good price.

I need you to elaborate on that anti flicker setting ? first I've heard of this anywhere .
I guess it doesn't work for movie mode. so I was wrong. It is there for stills and I guess detects flicker at 100hZ and 120Hz. Not sure why, but I got zero flicker shooting at 120FPS, even though with my GH5 I get a ton of flicker unless I dial in the shutter
Heard that if you have the external monitor connected or wifi connected to phone, it can't do face detection in 4K. Too processor intensive maybe. Looks like it works fine at 1080p.
Binnu Babu so the AF generally sucks in 4K unfortunately, cause it is contrast based. I haven’t really tested with and without monitor, but it seemed to work fine. I’m gonna fine tune the settings so it catches focus a little faster, but that’s just a matter of taste

Just found your channel...just subscribed 👊🏾 I have a GH4 and am looking to upgrade to a camera that does both good photo and video so that I can only use one make of lenses.
In your opinion does the GH5 excel over the A7iii in regard to photo/video?
Yo. Gh5 is a great camera. I've taken amazing stills on it, too. It's not full frame, so if you are in to that full frame thing... that it is not! It also does superb video. While I really like the A7iii for a lot of reasons. As long as you are okay with the MFT format and worse low light performance, since you probably already own GH4 lenses, then I would recommend the GH5. Also the GH5 has superior in camera stabilization, for what it's worth. If low light is important, you can look in the GH5s, but you lose that stabilization. If low light and full frame are SUPER important, then do the A7iii. But you have to get new batteries, new lenses, etc.

If only Sony didn't have a 30 min video recording buffer I think it would be hands down the best camera on the market :)
yeah, the 30min thing is a thing too. Haven't had much problem with it myself, because I don't like rolling such long takes. But the GH5 wins there. In terms of a utilitarian video camera, I would say the GH5 wins for sure. I just really like my sony cause the full frame thing. But honestly, it's all so granular these days, it's the making content that counts more than the tech behind it, which is all amazing compared to what we had 2, 5, 10 years ago!
that's very ver true! Content is King and reigns supreme! I've never had the FF experience (I've shot MFT and APS-C) but I know I get frustrated with the low light performance of my GH4. I'm also building a solid backlog of vlogs and you know how the autofocus goes with the Lumix series :( so run and gun becomes tiring to constantly pull focus on the Sigma 18-35. Stephan you have me convinced...I'm now #TeamSony

That 35mm with APSC crop is a good choice if you could only afford one lens (me 😀)
Look st the 28mm F2. Way cheaper and smaller than the 35mm. Probably the best budget street lens. Or even just the kit lens honestly. It’s 200 bucks and has great range.
Stephan Fleet thanks Stephen - yes - that sounds good advice - I'll probably get the kit it's only 200 and probably useful a as zoom outdoors and get a new or used 28mm with APSC mode it gives me a 42mm as well.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE 35MM F2.8 ZEISS??
I dunno. I haven't used it. If it's a 2.8 that's not appealing to me. Might as well get the 24-70 F2.8. I use primes cause I want faster speeds.
