  • This is the version of the Mische Technique I use the most often. The three color underpainting just does it for me every time. This very fast overview is a sped up version of a class I recently taught where we dove deep into the process of this technique with over 4 hours of lectures and teachings. The class, called Visionary Beasts, was put on by ‪@visiontrainstation‬ train car Vitra Academy and will be available to purchase in full soon. I’ll update once it’s available.
Let me know what you think of this technique.

This is what i have needed!! The process photos alone don’t do much in terms of teaching, but when its demonstrated it makes more sense. Does a home builder only rely on process photos when building a 5 bedroom house? Or is he given instructions step by step to do it professionally? Why would art be any different…. Thank you

I hyave used several over the years. I used an art projector, where you print out the image, choose the lens etc for the last 15+ years. Last year I decided there ust be a better way and I found a projector on Amazon that you ca use for like a kids room, cartoons, movies etc for about $100. It connects to my computer and it's incredibly easy to use. I love it. So you can really get away with using something pretty inexpensive sinxe projector technology has just come so far over the last many years

Yes! Thge blue is just super pale, so like a silvery blue. See 6:35 ish on the video. WHen I am using oils, my favorite color for this is called Radiant Turquoise by Gamblin Artist Color.

@@dagoelius in person it’s not that light. It’s something weird about that layer and videoing or photographing it. It turns grey with digital photography when in real life it’s much more blue. It’s next to impossible to capture it accurately
