Umm, not quite....Dave Mustaine played with Metallica on their Demo album "No Life to Leather" and before they recorded their debut album "Kill'em All" he was fired for his drinking and rowdy behavior. But what you were referring to was that he WROTE a lot of songs on "Kill'em All" and a few on "Ride the Lightning." Anc then after he was fired, he formed Megadeth with his friend Dave Ellisson on bass, Gar Samulson on Drums, and Chris Poland on guitar. Releasing their debut "Killing is my Business" in 1985. The song "Mechanix" on that album is a Megadeth'ed version of Metallica's "The Four Horsemen".
One of the inspirations for this song was Mustaine's experiences in Northern Ireland when The Troubles were still ongoing. Whilst onstage in Northern Ireland and drunk, he brought up "The Cause (essentially the IRA's guerilla war/terrorism against the British Army, Ulster Unionists and Protestants, the IRA wanting a united Ireland and being staunchly Catholic). This almost caused a riot in the crowd and police were called in, Megadeth being escorted offstage and being sent away in a bulletproof bus. "Brother will kill brother" being a reference to the fact that even close family were at odds with each other, some being pro-British, others anti-British, some being Catholic and others Protestant.
I love Juliette's Face at 10:31, that part is about The Punisher from Marvel, Great channel, keep doing good lessions of Metal, Juliette is so beautiful with all respect of course, cheers From Costa Rica
Megadeth as of this recording. The album is Rust in Peace. Dave Mustaine - Lead Vocals and Rhythm guitars (some lead spots) David Ellefson - Bass Guitar and backing vocals Marty Friedman - Lead Guitar Nick Menza - Drums The first part of this song was written about the violence between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland. The second part of this song (the punishment due) is about Marvel's character Frank Castle aka The Punisher.
Hahaha, this song is NOT about The Punisher, although there are some interesting parallels. As I understand it, The Punishment Due is more about being tethered to (government) organizations like the CIA, and even the military. Coercion tactics being used to bend to their will, never being able to get out (much like the mob), which could include harming one's family (either via threats or actually doing it) to ensure cooperation, or as punishment for refusing to comply. Definitely a song about power struggles overall. PS - The Punisher is a Marvel comics character named Frank Castle, who served in the military (Vietnam?) and was very trusting of all the "freedom, liberty, and justice for all" mantras espoused by the "American dream". Castle's dream becomes a nightmare, and he is horribly disillusioned by the failure of the system he swore to uphold and defend, when it fails to uphold and defend justice after his wife and child are brutally murdered, and the killers get off scot-free. That is when he becomes the Punisher, utilizing all his military training into his own unique style of vigilante justice, making sure justice is done - one way or another. One of his trademark weapons include the use of ammunition called "mercy bullets" (probably what we call rubber bullets in real life), which maim but do not kill. The last time I read any comics with the Punisher, while his first aim was not to kill, he was unlike other heroes who absolutely refused to kill bad guys, EVER. Castle had no problem eliminating/neutralizing or "permanently stopping" repeat offenders, or especially dangerous ones who should not be given that chance to re-offend. An amazing character, and I wish I got more into him in my comic days, but I was already a devout Batman and Spider-Man fan, and that was expensive enough to keep up with as it was. I always prefer the vigilantes to these wussy heroes who essentially virtue signal and refuse to eliminate legit threats via execution, resulting in more innocents being harmed. I was working on my own comic characters back in the day, but while I could create characters and develop backstories, I couldn't create actual stories to put them in, so they ultimately went nowhere. I still dabble though. Cos how knows... maybe one day... lots of popular things come about when the creator is late in life. It's not necessarily a young person's game anymore.
Mustaine was kicked before their first album's official production. He was with them during the writing and promoting of the their "No Life Til Leather" demo, of which included songs and riffs that made it onto kill 'em all as well as having writing credits to most kill em all solos and certain select guitar riffs that made it into songs on Ride The Lightening. Dave and the band fueded over his material being stolen and Mustaine's personal anger toward having been kicked out and his material used without permission fueled his writing for his own band for many years to come.
Dave Mustaine is not on Kill 'Em All. He contributed to the songwriting process during their demo days, but he was fired before they recorded the album. Kirk Hammett is on Kill 'Em All.
Metal school teacher needs to check his lesson notes. Dave Mustaine was fired before recording of kill em all. Never played on any official Metallica studio album but has 4 writing credits on kill em all and 2 on ride the lightning.
Ahh yea...that is a great "head to head"...If I had to pick a winner between them I' would give a slight edge to "Disposable Heroes"...BACK TO THE FRONT..you will do what I say...you coward...you blind man...))
Great reaction as always. You guys should start doing multiple reactions. I think it's time for some more Nightwish also. The poet and the pendulum or seven days to the wolves. Or Epica "Sancta Terra" featuring Floor Jansen.
Garri Kirk has some kind of soul in his solos, Mustaine is way more aggressive and technical, I think he was just too advanced for Metallica. I appreciate both styles though. Wouldn’t put either one in front. They’re both awesome .
Rust In Peace and ...And Justice For All are two of the best metal albums of all time. The evolution of Metallica, and Megadeth always trying to one-up, leading to these pinnacle albums in 1988 & 1990.
I had much the same reaction to learning about the inspiration for "Holy Wars...". For the first part I was like...interesting, makes sense...good to know that it was a trip to Ireland. Then when I learned about The Punisher and the second half my thoughts were: wow, that's unexpected...this really adds a lot to these lyrics!
Juliette, it is refreshing to hear someone who knows history. "History is boring it's all old people, events that don't matter and remembering dates, blah blah", right? Well I know that's what everyone said in school but I disagree. History repeats it's self. It's important to know your history to avoid those mistakes. Also, I appreciate that you are willing to listen to other styles of music, and hear your take on it. Bravo Dad, Mad props! You have clearly raised three (well that's all I know of so far from your videos) smart kids. As a parent, it is refreshing to see parents spent time with their children, carry on conversations with their children and listen to their children to hear their views. Again all I can say is a great family. So, I subscribed a few videos ago and enjoy the commentary.
Soy de Argentina. Estoy viendo tus vídeos. Y creo que tu hija va a ser una persona muy apasionada por la música con sentimientos como lo eres tu. Éxitos y Salud!
If you are going to watch the Punisher Series (and i do recommend it), start with Daredevil, as The Punisher is introduced in season 2, and both very good shows. It really sucks that Disney pulled the plug on these to put them on their own streaming service.
And the bass parts on this song.. I tried to learn it as a teen.. No way. It's just a masterclass in bass playing. Everything you know and do not know is on it. And there's a gazillion nuances that make the song what it is.
Hey guys. This is truly a classic metal jam. For Black Sabbath, I would highly recommend Heaven And Hell. I think you might be slowly turning her into a metalhead.
this song was wrote in one night after the mishap in Ireland, you guys should check out hanger 18 from these guys it has like 11 solos its from the same album as holy wars its a absolute master piece
Correction to the history of Dave Mustaine. He didn't record Kill 'Em All. Got fired mere weeks before the recording of that album. His songs are there though. And a few songs on Ride The Lightning still.
a perfect Title to react to for the School of Metal series would be 1980s "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabath and perfomed by the Godfather of Metal and the man who introduced the Mano Cornuta _|,,| to the Metal scene Ronnie James Dio. Rock On Greetings from Germany |,,|_ _|,,|
I may have misunderstood Chuck, but where on Earth did he read that Unleash the Archers was any kind of "death metal"? I can't see that label being applied to them. I'd call them "progressive power metal".
Juliette's metal face is so genuine. I'm glad she seems like she's enjoying the music. Even if she's not, it looks like an authentic feeling of the heavy. lol.

Kirk Hammett is on Kill 'Em All.
great reaction... greetings from Istanbul.... pls Tornado of Souls too someday :)
warfare73 Aydın’dan selamlar!
Metal school teacher needs to check his lesson notes. Dave Mustaine was fired before recording of kill em all. Never played on any official Metallica studio album but has 4 writing credits on kill em all and 2 on ride the lightning.
Vergil Grantcharov The worst part is I knew that. I guess I forgot on the fly there...
I would recommend The Punisher, unfortunately it was cancelled after 2 seasons, but it might come back
It will. On some other streaming service than Netflix.
All four of those poll options are great.
Did you do Disposable Heroes yet? This Metallica song rivals Holy Wars, the two best thrash songs imo. Master of Puppets good, Disposable Heroes great
Ahh yea...that is a great "head to head"...If I had to pick a winner between them I' would give a slight edge to "Disposable Heroes"...BACK TO THE FRONT..you will do what I say...you coward...you blind man...))
LMAO!!!
The Punisher is an excellent show, Jon Bernthal was perfectly cast as Frank Castle. He first appeared in the 2nd season of Daredevil.
Let's not forget Dolph Lundgren. For those who like Sodom.
If we had more dads like this metal would rule the 🌎...
You have heard Devin Townsend kingdom, how about older "devy"?
Strapping Young Lad - Love?
Great reaction as always. You guys should start doing multiple reactions.
I think it's time for some more Nightwish also. The poet and the pendulum or seven days to the wolves.
Or Epica "Sancta Terra" featuring Floor Jansen.
Tony Cardone yes sir!
Dave wrote few riffs in Kill'em All. And couple in Ride The Lighting.. That's all... All solos wrote Kirk
Garri Kirk has some kind of soul in his solos, Mustaine is way more aggressive and technical, I think he was just too advanced for Metallica.
I appreciate both styles though. Wouldn’t put either one in front.
They’re both awesome .
Listen to the Metallica demo with Mustaine - Dave wrote a lot of the solos that Hammett copied. Mustaine’s solos are better
@@seancorker5815 fuck yeah
@Garri you obviously don't know shit.
K-nay...thanks for the upload
Megadeth: Rust In Peace/Polaris.
If you do Sabbath...definitely start with War Pigs...
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys
The Black keys - Lo/Hi
Des Rocs - SLO
Blues rock here, defiantly worth your time to check em out! :)
Slayer- Raining Blood... Not "Rain In Blood". The album is called "Reign In Blood".
Good reaction! Great song! 🤘🤘🤘
Such a classic, definitely one of the best song and album of the metal genre.
Soy de Argentina. Estoy viendo tus vídeos. Y creo que tu hija va a ser una persona muy apasionada por la música con sentimientos como lo eres tu. Éxitos y Salud!
The new cam looks great👍
Jody Smith Just changed the angle with the same old cam!
Megadeth Tornado of Souls
You guys should react to Epica - Sancta Terra ft. Floor Jansen!!!
YESSSSS !
Yep! That one is amazing!
Sounds like a Metal Maiden Monday special!
ChemicalReactions! The link of the music video!! ruclips.net/video/cx22Yuj2nzg/видео.html
As dudes from Lost in Vegas have put it:" This song is like a swiss army knife of music".
LOL! Interesting phrasing. Not sure I understand what that means though!
If you are going to watch the Punisher Series (and i do recommend it), start with Daredevil, as The Punisher is introduced in season 2, and both very good shows. It really sucks that Disney pulled the plug on these to put them on their own streaming service.
almost 30 years old and still fresh
And the bass parts on this song..
I tried to learn it as a teen.. No way. It's just a masterclass in bass playing. Everything you know and do not know is on it. And there's a gazillion nuances that make the song what it is.
11DNA11 ... absolutely!!! I struggled to play this one smoothly
@@brianprice8815 I didn't even get to the nuances :D The crazy "notes everywhere!!!" feeling you get by trying to learn this.. Damn.
What a lovely relationship you have with your kids. Godspeed Chuck
Correction to the history of Dave Mustaine.
He didn't record Kill 'Em All. Got fired mere weeks before the recording of that album. His songs are there though. And a few songs on Ride The Lightning still.
Epic is the right word to use for this song. Hanger 18 should be the next Megadeth song.
Art of Life - X Japan
The full 30 minute version :D
And hopefully the live version, so they can see Yoshiki going nuts..
a perfect Title to react to for the School of Metal series would be 1980s "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabath and perfomed by the Godfather of Metal and the man who introduced the Mano Cornuta _|,,| to the Metal scene Ronnie James Dio.
Rock On

If you like female singers in Metal Bands, check out Doro Pesch. She was one of the first and is still concidered by many as the Queen of Metal.
Um... Lee Aaron is the "Metal Queen"... LoL!!!
+1 for Doro... So many people ride on her coat tails and people don't even know her that well in the US anymore
What about Kate from Acid or Leather Leone from Chastain, Dawn Crosby from Detentè and Fear of God etc etc. Doros accent is hilarious.
Yes, live this is incredible!!!
(I've seen megadeth live 2 times)
I think thats a proud dad there rockin out with his kid to holy wars
Love your comment regarding Metallica...and a whole bunch of albums that don't matter. Truth.
You need to listen to Megadeath - Tornado of souls next it's their best track.
I could listen to the beginning 30 seconds of this song on repeat forever and be fine with it
I may have misunderstood Chuck, but where on Earth did he read that Unleash the Archers was any kind of "death metal"? I can't see that label being applied to them. I'd call them "progressive power metal".

Juliette's metal face is so genuine. I'm glad she seems like she's enjoying the music. Even if she's not, it looks like an authentic feeling of the heavy. lol.
I remember back in the day we kids were showing this to our parents and now we as parents are showing this to our kids.
