Man i swear, Kiko's finger movement is so sophisticated, only the required amount of movement. A true inspiration
kinda a bummer tho, its doesn't have that wild Dimebag Darrel kinda look
wait til u see jim root's finger movements
Economy of movement is very much the ideal. He's very well rooted in musical theory and classical guitar. It's extremely challenging, even for guitar greats. But Kiko's attitude and discipline..well, he's in a league of his own.
@@justinkrann7406 you cant have both! Dimebag (whos my all time fav) could never sweep, or play so precise as someone like Kiko, but Kiko could never make the same sounds as someone like Dime, you just simply cant have both haha

You're living the dream my friend. Congrats!!
No, you are
@@behindthen0thing NO, YOU! ;)
I think you have it better to be honest. Sure, he's literally a modern-day guitar hero now, but you've influenced so many young guitarists through your platforms. Hell, I've *listened* to Megadeth for years, but I wasn't sold on learning how to play until I started watching you.
So are you man. I have learned so much from you, you along with a few other guys made me pick up the guitar and practice on a regular basis. Thank you.
@@montythemetalman nah Bro, Kiko has lived the dream since ever.
He was always a influential musician here in Brazil.
Since 95 he was playing on Angra, and, he was also a teacher for a long long time.
Always stamping magazine covers with his lessons and his guitars.
Kiko have always been great artist.
Sad for you and others that didnt know him till he was playing on megadeth, but that doesnt mean anything 🤷
This dude has some potential. He might get into a metal band or something
Gökhan Saraç hmmm maybe eh 😆
yeah, that's what i thought. It's a good cover. It could be cleaned up in a few spots though
littlegoobie yeah, like it’s good for sure but he would probably not be able to play this live
@@eliasaltman4439 he did lol and it was perfect
Ismail B r/woooosh
His hand makes minimal movement and makes it looks sooo damn easy. That's masterclass technique right there.
It is easy after playing 20 years guitar 5 hours a day haha
Right hand control level 💯. Robotic on the right hand and passion on the left lol. Hes got perfect technique
also helps that his fingers are insanely long lol
It's interesting because Marty's style is very unorthodox relative to Kiko's, and he looked like a tyrannosaurus rex when playing the parts which he mastered when crafting this song.
Ron NJ Mo what left hand control huh
It's amazing how heavy these classics were in E standard tuning
no it's not

I guess a more appropriate comment would be: "This guy is really good, he could play on Megadeth"
But the other one sounds kinda dumb cause it makes no sense.
Kiko didn't make tornado of souls solo it was Marty
The fact that Dave plays these riffs and sings at the same time never fails to amaze me.
I just can't play a green day song at guitar and sing in the same time, but green day is very simple! Dave is SO EPIC!

@Mick Doolan yes, yes we do.
I can play the solo and the song but I can never even dream of singing and playing that riff.
Kiko afraid to touch his guitar every time he plays the open E string.

Good observation, can't unsee it now

Returning to this video to say that Kiko will be greatly missed. Thank you Kiko for your hard work, great professional.
He's the most economical player. Seems like he never strains, always smooth.
Mailroom Clerk I think of Marty Friedman lol
He made it look like it was so easy. His fingers were moving slow and fast at the same time.
Definitely he is, but try to search out the "Paulo Schroeber", he already passed away, but was an execptional player.
you mean ergonomic
The end of the solo the kind of falling down part where he goes down the neck he was behind a bit from the recording you could tell for me Chris brodrick recreated the past Megadeth solos way better, although though Kiko writes better stuff
Dave Mustaine needs a National Geographic show dedicated to how he manages to hoard the finest guitar players in the world.
B0yardigi0rn0 amen I would pay to see that
Or shreading a song into pieces.
B0yardigi0rn0 You could say the same with Chuck schuldiner and drummers
and then lets them go
there is kinda.. it's a documentary called Hired Guns. Doesn't mention Megadeth, but is a great insight into how bands find their fill in players
My favorite Megadeth guitar player. I'll miss him so much.
You can see Kiko is one of the best guitarists ever when everyone else, including Marty, makes a lot of movements to play that solo and Kiko just easily and slowly move his hands making it looks 10x easier than it really is.

Best Megadeth guitarist since Marty, never an easy feat to follow a bunch of crazy good technicians - saw him on a flight from London to Helsinki with his guitar case somewhere around October, didn't say anything - you gotta let the man rest.
Best all rounder imo. I think broderick is probably the best shredder but the problem was he was robotic,no feel,a bit like petrucci at times(at times I know he's got some emotive stuff),
Kiko is so well rounded, probably the most versatile guitarist megadeth has ever had and probably sounds better than any others at covering others solos
Disagree. This dude plays entirely different thing. His stuff? Do what the hell he wants. But if he plays Marty's solos, he should do it right, note for note. What's that suppose to be? Some kind of fusion jazz?
@@dehypnotizerz wtf your saying
@@dehypnotizerz Are you delusional?
@@Camerato_r6 No, as far as I'm concerned, no. Kiko is a showman (which is good) but showmanship can't overshadow shredder's skills. He's good but he's so unfit, unmatching to Megadeth as humanly possible - to me. Yeah, fussion jazz - he probably rocks in that genre as f_ck but he's not technical enough when it comes to play the old, good stuff. I'm a classical piano player and they taught us one thing: you play something, do it correctly, note for note, period.
As a player, it’s one of the dopest and most fun to play songs ever written.
@Dave Scott Mustaine Ok Dave you're so humble for coming here with a anon account and interact with fans *-*
As someone who learned to play it on all instruments, it's INCREDIBLY fun to play on drums.
The efficiency of his left hand blows my mind. Fingers are barely moving but magic is happening. Its a beautiful thing.
Tuukka No doubt that's years of practice.
I am always impressed with their picking, My left hand is on par its my picking hand that needs for practice. No fretting just open picking for an hour a day.
and the smoothness of the right is something amazing as well..
Its called economy picking.
no shit
I'm so glad Mustaine got fired from Metallica.
Because of that we can listen to this masterpiece🤘🏻🤘🏻
Amen!
Kind of deep but- if Dave Mustaine somehow stayed with Metallica he could’ve died while touring for Master of Puppets. Of course there are other factors, for instance, would there even be a Master of Puppets or would they have even toured on that day? Anyway it’s just fun to think about a Metallica lineup with Cliff and Dave
A lifetime of listening to both bands, Megadeth is still my favorite, darker, faster, dare I say heavier? Metallica has it's moments, I still play and own all their albums but some are owned clearly for the collector in me. Anyway, Metallica has come through town a couple times in recent years and I've found better ways to spend my money than to listen to the guys fumble through their classics with a detuned bass heavy production sound and at slower tempos. Megadeth Won the battle in my mind.
@metho1234 Metallica is 10x more popular after all these years so you saying megadeth is more timeless makes no sense?
dude he has so much presence just sitting down I couldn't imagine how awesome it is live
His fingers are gliding through that neck of the guitar flawlessly during the last part of the solo Damn

That's when his brazillian blood pumps in and he starts to dance.
@HB C There are people who are aware of Marty who are NOT fans?
sick dude. Those last 2 runs are so chaotic i don't think anyone, even Marty, plays it like the record.
Yea but it sounded like a legit reimagination of it.
Kiko is one of the best additions to Megadeth, EVER!!!!!!
4:11 I love the way he ends the solo for some reason
never seen anything like that before, connecting the solo and the strumming.
That was pretty pog
famous whiplash
He's just recorded this video on his instagram page telling about the importance of attacking the strings from up high. Maybe it has something to do with the way he imagined the end of this solo.
I had to do a double take on that too. Badass
I remember when I heard Dave say that the best Megadeth guitarist was Kiko, then Marty. Seemed crazy at the time, and like he was just giving his "current" bandmate some props...but now, it really doesn't seem weird at all. Both are absolutely fantastic.
Dude hes phenomenal. Check out Angra his other band if you haven't already
I honestly still think marty is number 1 , dude writes killer solos
No one is lining up to hear anything Kiko has written. Great player but as is often the case with replacements, unable to create only cover.
@@Nerfzisback I agree, has some of the best solos ever and writes some of the most interesting and unique melodies that doesn't sound like anyone else. Also has a lovely unique vibrato. Plus there's cacophony. Marty is a legend
@@brucebanner52 what? Dystopia has the best material Megadeth has released since Youthanasia, thanks in no small part to Kiko himself. Just because Megadeth isn't as popular as it was in the 90s doesn't mean the band isn't writing good songs, just means that a 40-year old band doesn't draw as much as newer ones do. Kiko is a genius, just listen to his albums with Angra (Temple of Shadows is a good place to start).
You can clearly see how much of a blast Kiko is having playing this. Really enjoyed watching this, thanks for sharing.
Dude, It looks like you picked this up like it was "Smoke On The Water"! You are an Awesome Guitarist!!!

@@user-rh2ic7sw6m aka marty
Easily one of the best solos ever. Got it first try too
Technically, Chris Poland wrote the solo, and then Dave had Marty watch the VHS tape, learn the solo, and then Marty played it, but with flare and panache.
that's got to be the best megadeth song from a purely technical standpoint. the riffs are just so incredible. and I have such a great appreciation and admiration for the solo. unreal!
From a classical composition pov, that solo is magnificent. Something straight from Johann Sebastian Bach’s mind!
one of the best videos i come back to every year, the way he abused the bends is really something else
Holy shit, this guy makes this song look so easy to play.
@That One Guy I guess he meant the guitar solo.
well he has been playing neoclassical influenced prog metal since the early 90s. here's my fav song of his ruclips.net/video/giGfuBp1Vlk/видео.html
Jolly Templar Oh he does make it look easy but let me tell you it is anything but ! It took me all of a year every night locked away in my bedroom after school to finally be able to nail it, and that was just Marty's minute long solo !
It's easy with practice
Just decipher it piece by piece. It's honestly not that hard as people make it out to be. They just all want to go fast and then they don't get the picking, rhythm, and notes right. Just go slow and work your way up. Same goes for the solo. Go piece by piece. Look at live videos (like this one) of ACTUAL band members playing the songs. Look at their finger placements. Listen to the notes if you can't tell what he's playing. Sing/Hum the song/melody and you'll get it eventually.
Beauty of Kiko’s style is that he ain’t no robot, no machine at all
He’s so soulful, dynamic and groovy
Yet also precise and accurate to the least of micro details.
He’s possibly the best Dave’ve ever had on his own side👏
Reproducing a solo and composing it is very different. Kiko is amazing but before you call best, remember who wrote this one.
@@alcole1k178 sure
But he’s the best among any other impersonator thru the years (since Marty)
