I think it was great to have Shaw stay behind because it leaves the door open for him to return in present day without appearing to have aged.
He might show up on present day Earth right before the Godzilla x Kong movie.

@@khaild7856 Nah. This is fiction. He most likely survived and will use the machine that was left behind to send out another signal that he’s alive so that people can locate him. They’ll most likely find a new experimental way back into there using the first modern vehicles like they did in the Godzilla vs Kong movie but an earlier prototype (since this is set a few years before that movie).

@@mannixmd He will be back. By that logic, he would return for one or two episodes, at the end of the season. He would most likely show up again in the future, right before the Godzilla x Kong movie.
I never thought i would tear up in a godzilla show but the reunion scene and the use of time loss as a trauma was great!

The first lines of the episode "Are you alright?", "I can't really answer that right now" is a callback to Kong Skull Island after the helicopters crash and Loki asks "Are you alright?" and Captain Marvel responds "I don't know how to answer that question right now".
This episode was unbelievably good! That reunion between Shaw and Keiko was a epic! And i really hope Shaw is still alive!
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure we saw Lee's skeleton for a split second

Imagine Keiko arriving in 2017 with a lot of catching up to do then the world shuts down two years later because of the pandemic.

Since Shaw got left behind, he is not dead, Keiko can age up outside while Shaw spends some time stuck where Keiko was and they can finally end up together, closer in age, when reunited again.

I think he got pulled into the vortex and ended up going through another portal. He could either be in the true Hollow Earth or somewhere else on the surface. They could even give him another time skip and bring him into the 2020s ahead of GxK.
Knowing these writers they probably killed him off

There were some flaws, some drag, but if a show has gotten me so invested in its characters that by the finale, I'm in tears?? It's a win for me dog.

I've never been into Godzilla or Kong movies. I didn't even know they were related. Somehow, I decided to watch this show without expectations and loved it. Now I am watching all the movies. How did I live without the Monsterverse for long? I loved this show, and I'm looking forward to Godzilla x Kong!
This show is freaking amazing!!! I caught allergies on the reunion, too. I like how they got right to the reunion and did not let it drag. The casting for this show was A+. Keiko nailed it so much!! Season 2 3 4 5, please.

Did we know Kentaro’s mother’s name before this episode? Emiko was the name of the main female protagonist in the original 1954 Godzilla.

Legendary finally did it, they somehow managed to make me care about the human characters in the monsterverse. I’m here for it! Bring on a season 2!
You forgot to mention the Doc Brown Back to the Future easter egg with Shaw reconnecting the cables. Next season, Monarch detects the increased gamma ray bursts and finds the Apex' facility along with the capsule in Kong's Monster Island&they discover that someone returned. Assuming that as soon as it was activated, there's the blackbox recorder&it got reactivated too recording the crew's voice in the capsule including Keiko's return as well as Shaw staying behind. When Monarch gets the sensor telemetry from the blackbox, they'd figure out how it to activate the portal to travel into Axis Mundi as well as the Hollow Earth too. Monarch builds another underspace vehicle that can fly and enter Axis Mundi portal. They find Lee "Snake Plisskin" Shaw which had been collecting the leftover materials that gets sucked down and the glowing rocks as a power source to reactivate the Gamma Ray Simulator. He's been sending the morse code using it and this allowed Monarch to verify&find Shaw. Monarch's expedition returns bringing the glowing rocks and this is used to power that carrier jet seen in Godzilla King of the Monsters in 2019 as well as it being used to develop the weapon that was used against Godzilla&Ghidorah.

First time in a long while I've actually begun hoping for a second season 😂
I think that Godzilla Vs Kong showed us that the Hollow Earth that we're familiar with is a terrestrial aspect due to his Gamma Beam blasting through to where Kong was sitting on the throne. It's possible that Axis Mundi could be more of a sideways/parallel realm due to the way that the rifts appear to materialise - or it's just some new canon that they've introduced for the show's purpose and have yet to correlate how they interact with each other.
The finale was incredibly good! I hope we all get a second season @AppleTV!
Surely someone already said this, but when Lee reconnects the POD, the scene is taken from Back to the Future, when Doc Brown reconnects the cable to guide the lightning from the clock to the Delorean
I bet in a future movie, Monarch or Apex will build a Jet Jaguar suit. It won't change size by magically growing, but itll be like a battlesuit that "levels up" through attachments it can remotely call like Tony did for the hulkbuster armor.
Well, if they could get some Pym Particles…

In English, the "x" is silent when used between 2 independent entities/names, like Gucci x Adidas, and the director Adam Wingard confirmed it when interviewed about Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. He stated the title is "Godzilla Kong: The New Empire."

I really really love this Finale episode so much, never thought this Is the final episode but with a lot of plot twist and big cameo with a big Sacrifice's from Lee Shaw makes this episode perfect so much, Every emotion mix up together into one single episode from sad, happy, feeling epic, into surprised.
I rate this show 9,5/10

I absolutely adore keiko, and shaw reunion it was bittersweet.
Godzilla's fight against the ion dragon was short but sweet the dragon fate is ambiguous so maybe it return in season 2?
That apex ,and kong reveal at the end was absolutely jaw dropping.
It being 2017 makes sense cause KDM had already confirmed it. I throughly enjoyed the series it was great overall 9/10 for me definitely an emotional Rollercoaster cant wait for season 2.

Just to clarify, the reason why skull island is inhabitable now, it's not because of Apex facility. It is because the never ending storms Ghidorah created were being pushed to skull island by a big titan that can't stand the sun and needed the dark created by the storms to rise and challenge kong, to establish himself as a new alpha, almost killing kong. The whole story can be found in the comic " Kingdom Kong"
Storm was already there in 2017 Kong skull Island we saw the storm outside the island and it was moving in making Island inhabitant

The storm in skull Island is to cover the island, the one in godzilla vs Kong was the result of the storm mixed with the storm created by ghidorah, it was moving to skull Island because of another big titan called camazots that almost killed Kong in the battle.
the 2nd season might show the Comazotz vs Kong. Hence the storm blocking the sun and it fulfills the Comazotz prophecy

I think the Axis Mundi might be named liked that because of the functionality of the concept of an axis, it's the balance point for both sides making it not fluctuate but rather be more still as the base of it all, which casually would make sense for the lack of time passage 😮
From what i heard, Monarch had actually absorbed all apex's resources, meaning theres no more apex
Monarch absorbed Apex after Godzilla V Kong, the ending of Monarch and the Legacy of Monsters takes place in 2017, so Apex still has 7ish years before they collapse due to the Mechagodzilla incident
You missed the Back to the Future (most likely) unintentional reference. The cable disconnecting and the old guy jumping down to reconnect everything.

When I was watching last week's episode, and No Frauds started playing diegetically, I immediately looked up its release date and saw it was March 2017. And then I saw the ScreenCrush video and you mentioned it as well! I guess everyone settled on it being an anachronism, but oh boy were we wrong
Now that you mentioned how they hinted at the two years passing by and we didn't notice... WOW! Amazing, Of course a show so focused on time would not make that mistake. It even makes more sense with Kentaro and Tim's wounds healing, and Hiroshi coming back. I'm in awe. Thank you for pointing it out!

Apex & Monarch working together part makes sense, especially when remembering Kong’s new mech attachment on his hand/arm (which I assume he gets after getting his ass kicked by Scar King).

Best episode overall, they really found a great way to make the family plot matter in the titan world and Epic Big G fight and Kong cameo on Skull island and i hope they'll find Shaw in the future

You could have referenced Back to the Future when Shaw was trying to hook up the wire similarly like Doc Brown.
And the other when Shaw was hanging onto her hand you could have referenced Backdraft "You go, we go.".

Did anyone else notice that right at the end, The fight with Godzilla ends and the pod goes through the portal you see a path but instead of going straight it goes left like it took the wrong path. And when Kong shows up at the end it looks like his beard is gray life they are in a different time line multi verse stuff.

I always thought that by plugging or closing one right it causes the energy to leak out stronger in the other ones similar to how if you put your thumb on a hose the water comes out more pressurized, I figured it was like that, the energy that came out was just more concentrated

These Godzilla shows are making me cry. I cried twice during this show. I cried many times during Godzilla Minus Zero. Who knew that Godzilla would be so emotional. I think I need an episode of Dr. PhilZilla.

It wasn't Ghidorah that unstabilized Skull Island is was Camazotz.
I don't think that they were gone for 2 years, but more - the "Tim team" had been working for 2 years on getting to them, from that office meeting. I'm also fairly sure that the episode runs concurrently - when we go from Axis Mundi to Earth, we're jumping to where Earth is as the unequal time passes.
Its destabilized the storm around skull Island because Titanus camazotz attracted king Ghidorah,s hurricane to skull Island.
