  • This is an unboxing and walk-through of a redrawing of a classic Tarot of Marseille called Le Véritable Tarot de Marseille. It is a hybrid of type 1 and type 2, I believe, but it also has some surprising little variations.Take a look.
If you are interested in purchasing this deck, it's available on Amazon, but it is the French version. Here's a link:

I have that deck which I love (bright colors, very neat images, very affordable price). I am not a fan of blue hair though, (specially for the Valet de coupe( it make him look like an old man.😂The Roi de coupe is Blue-Beard🤣🤣) The card stock is thick BUT: the WORST problem of this deck is the plastic coating that peels after a while using it. That made the shuffling difficult. But the deck is so cheap, I rebought a new one.

Right, the price is very reasonable making replacement not a big issue for a lot of us. As for old pages, have you seen the Tarot of Paris? Now there are some old looking pages. 😁

Oh great review and superb comparison spot on because I consider buying both decks ❤ re: SM on The Chariot, I remember reading somewhere on Arclectic Tarot Forum archives that it stands for S(P)aul Marteau. Thanks so much for the video. I really want both decks now 😂

Very interesting comparison! I actually have an older edition of the Hadar deck that was gifted to me. Makes me want to get it out and see if it's the same as yours. It doesn't look like changes were made judging by the backs and 1996 date. FYI, the "box" on the horse is probably supposed to be a saddle bag.

Thank you for watching, and....face palm.....of course, it's a saddle bag. That makes total sense. Thank you. 😁

Kris Hadar defends that evidences of Tarot being made in the 12 century can be found in the Provence region in South of France (that is the date 1181). If in fact he found any physical evidence to give the foundation for the date I don't know. If the Tarot existed before the Sforza deck, yes we can certainly say it did and was not invented by that particular artist. The similarity between the Spanish playing cards and the tarot is quite striking and if we consider that the deck is faithful to the playing cards brought from North Africa and Islamic countries ... yes we can even go backwards in time. Playing cards were not made to last, so I believe this is more an oral tradition than a physical one. Anyway, in this case, I do think we can believe in the tradition passed in families between generations, that in the end is how our story was transmitted many times for many centuries.

Great review! I watched your video with the decks in front of me! Wonderful! Thank you🤗If you liked this deck, take a look at "Tarot de L'Incarnation", by Anne-Julie Ausina! It's a different TdM but with so beautiful images!
