Thank you for this. I really love a good side-by-side. I had been curious about the bling, and even though I did not like some of the color choices in the majors (the blue moon especially) I was still open to it. When I saw the minors, however, I knew for sure I wouldn't purchase this deck. Having so much of the cups, coins, and even wands the same foil color as the background seemed lazy perhaps... at the minimum they are just a little difficult to differentiate. If they had used a different color metallic for the objects, I would have purchased immediately. Now if someone were to buy a copy for me, I wouldn't throw it away....😁
I have to admit that I was disappointed in the suit of Batons for the reasons you mentioned. And I agree it was lazy. Despite the bling and lack of color in the batons, it's pretty close in detail to the original deck. Still I think it's fun and I'm hoping it will be the deck that will attract my grandbabies to TdM in case other TdM decks don't. What little person can resist bling lol. I bought the Golden tarot of Marseille today, I was looking for a good review and found yours! Super helpful like always. Putting tarot decks in your granddaughters treasure chests is so sweet. None of my children wants children themselves so I don’t think I will have grandkids - still secretly having hope lol But IF there will be some kind of miracle I would ad a deck from Yves Renaud in each of them, but also something like the Happy tarot. Hello Tierra! It's very nice to hear from you! My grandbabies will each get a few from my own collection, so I'm mostly buying them commercial decks for now. My daughter will inherit the vast majority of my decks and she may dole a few out as she sees fit. I think it's important to have a plan for one's collection after we cross over. I don't know if any of my descendants will share my love of tarot, but for any of them that will, I've left these videos to help understand my approach to my many wonderful decks. I hope I will live a long life of course but I have told my kids about all the decks that might be worth something (OOP decks) or shown the decks that they might like. My daughters always used oracle decks, my son is the only one who watches reviews to look for decks that he can gift me. He doesn’t use them himself. They did promisse to handle them with love and care so that’s a good thing for me to know ❤️👍🏻
