I felt so much joy seeing all these decks together in one video. In my collection are many "in the style of" types. If possible it would take a life time of study to fully appreciate every minute detail. I love how some have such boldness and some are downright rough. My favourite colours are those of the Tarot Classic. Pleased to meet you, best of wishes, Clair 🙏💜🙏
Thank you for visiting ❤ I had fun as this gave me an excuse to bring out all my decks to just sit with and enjoy 😊 I love Marseille and you have some great ones too!
Btw I wanted to share with you that I got the 1986 large Thoth. It was claimed “like new” and it was not! I was going to show it in my last video but I was still moding it. It looks good as new but I thought of you when I finished it. :)
@@HoneyLouWilson Ooo! I’m so happy for you, I love that printing! It wasn’t as advertised? That’s a bummer … I can’t wait to see it. I love your Thoth collection ❤❤❤
👀👀👀 my eyes right now!! What a beautiful collection! Thank you for sharing these gorgeous decks! Are you eyeballing anything new? I’ve got the black and gold marseille (lo scarabeo I think) on pre-order, I’m excited about that one.. and mass market so it’s decently priced 🌻💕🌻
I want to get Sullivan Hisman’s Dodal, but with each paycheck, I tell myself to wait ( doesn’t mean I haven’t purchased other things in the meantime 😅) It’s so expensive. The Black and Gold looks cool! That reminds me: I forgot to include the Inversion Tarot in this video. Reminds me just a bit of the Black and Gold. I hope you love your deck when it arrives and agree: it’s wonderful when you can find a more affordable Marseille ❤
I found my copy of Tarot Classic on e bay and for a great price, I think it was under 30 bucks, but it is out of print, and people do ask a lot for it, so I hope you have luck finding it! ❤
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission hello! I hope you're doing well. I had the privilege of purchasing the deck new and sealed. Now I don't know if I have the courage to open it 😂 Thanks for the help.
Do you read for others with the Marseille? I don't have a Marseille deck in my collection (yet). Have all Marseille's interpreted cups as air energy and swords as water or just the first deck you showcased? And I like your turtle ring. You have a good set going on.
I don’t really read for others, no, occasionally my daughter. The first deck I showed is unusual in that it uses a different system known based on Eudes Picard’s teachings, hence the swapped elements. So it’s not a traditional Marseille, it’s really more of a pip deck. Thank you! I like my turtle ring too 😊 🐢
That second Gassmann you showed... some of the cards look blacked out? Like the World and Star... did they actually paint dresses on them? Because they're nude? 😖 Thanks for showing your collection, I've added to my wish list for sure!
I read a review at a UK website that said the Paul Marteau book wasn't translated very well. What's your experience of it? I fancied getting it, but the review put me off because it was quite expensive.
I haven’t started reading it yet, so I can’t speak for the translation. I had planned on it being my next tarot read, but got side tracked lol. I didn’t pay too much for my copy, around 20 bucks maybe? But the price might have gone up.
Yes, collecting Marseille is addicting, but definitely a passion. I’ve been collecting Marseille since around 2017. I bought my first tarot deck back in 2012.
Yes, and I agree it’s definitely Gassman. Claude Burdel was comparatively more ornate than most of the Marseille decks at that time, so perhaps it was used as a model for the Gassman.
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission The Gassman was based upon a Jacques Rochias Fils engraved by Jean Proche, who also engraved for his father Jacques Rochias. Jean Proche also engraved for Jacques Burdel, not sure if he also engraved for the rest of the family though. The Francois Rochias was engraved by Charles Jocquot /Joquard, and the Claude Rochias by Hans Buolman. The Besancon by Jerger is a copy of Francois Isnard decks of Strasbourg, with a few original touches. Isnard was printed by the Benois family, Sarrarman, Louis Carey & other Strasbourg cardmakers. Isnard was also copied by several Swiss cardmakers, which is probably what you see in common between the Jerger & the Gassman.
That’s difficult to say. I rotate my decks frequently. I find myself reaching for the Dodals a lot (I have more since filming, maybe I should update) and the Claude Burdel, but again, tough to say right now.
Ugh the lo scarabeo conver is beautiful! I hope it comes back into print

Marseille decks are so addicting! Lol I’ve actually only accumulated one more Marseille since filming this video 😊
I bought a boxed set this morning. It comes in a blue box.@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission

According to Kaplan the Classic was based upon Burdel, but it is Gassman.
