We were supposed to be family...until the very end when after 20 years of scratching/scraping, we got our big $ payoff... he transferred my half to an account in his name. To this day, I'm blown away by his greed and that he would try to burn me when I was financing nearly all of our business operations/acquisitions when we couldn't get banks to loan us $. Well, I think 'scam' is a more appropriate word than 'steal'. "Steal" implies that something was taken by force or was done while someone was caught unawares. "Scam" implies that some level of lying and deceit was pulled to get someone to give up something under false pretenses. Sliker lied about the circumstances to get people to give up their money out of their own free-will. You can't convince me that he thought he was going to pay 100% of that money back, assuming he had plans to do so in the first place (which he likely did not).

There's a big difference between "borrowing" and "stealing," although only doing the first half of the borrowing and ignoring the second half leads to the stealing part. Sliker needs to realize that you can't confess to "borrowing and not paying back" when it was a conscious effort to steal. Words matter, my dude.

Well, I think 'scam' is a more appropriate word than 'steal'. "Steal" implies that something was taken by force or was done while someone was caught unawares. "Scam" implies that some level of lying and deceit was pulled to get someone to give up something under false pretenses. Sliker lied about the circumstances to get people to give up their money out of their own free-will. You can't convince me that he thought he was going to pay 100% of that money back, assuming he had plans to do so in the first place (which he likely did not).

Yeah a bunch of people have been picking either "he is a terrible person" or "he's a victim" when both can be true at the same time. I think when he broke down and started crying it wasn't fake and he genuinely feels awful but the man's robbed 300k from people and basically tossed it into a fire.
