No its not. I have a max loss of $60 a trade and $200 day. Those don't need to be your numbers but my account is still small under 100k. If you had a crazy bad day you don't have max per trade and max per day losses ... get it into your trading plan.
I just bought my 1st funded account last week and I feel you sir. I am down 2k. But these losses taught me so much. This is part of the process of becoming a better trader/profitable. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see real ones in the trading community.
I once heard we as humans are limited to 3 emotional choices a day before we go into decision fatigue, even though when trading we are not emotional per say there is a big emotional choice once opening a trade. Maybe you should limit you daily entries to a sweet spot where you don't get to a point of decision fatigue. Losing days happen, like my trading buddy says, tomorrow is another day .
That's funny. My first 2 trades per day are always $1000 to $1200 move. EVERY WEEKDDAY! Then I go in again and again with small moves and I loose and I end up loosing most of my winnings same day on small trades that I wasn't sure of. I'm going to make thus my policy. 2 trades per day. Thats literally $2k+ if I actually stick to it.

The battle of self. I have never had any thing be able to demoralize me like this. So so hard. It's hard to turn it off, which hit's the same receptors as gambling addiction.
If you feel like you are gambling you are not trading. Trading is not gambling. Get a plan, learn just a few set ups, and get them down pat on just a few things. I recommend the NASDAQ E mini futures contract. Always use stop loss orders, have max per trade, max per day, and max per week set. You need to know the exact event that gets you into a trade. Where exactly the stop gets set, where you add, when you move your stop to break even, and when you take profits (the hardest part). If you don't do this ... just go to Vegas and put it all on black.
I've been doing it for 24 years, and yes, it's hard to walk away when you're getting hosed. The way I overcome the dreaded bad days: break the trading up into 20 trading days, have an R-multiple target for the 20 days. If you're trading the same strategy, you will have good clusters of winners and bad. What you usually find is you make several R winners over a small span and losers all seem to clump together. You will eventually realize you have hit a bad clump of price action and stop without worry. Worst thing to do is go on the chase; if you have a few losing trades on the day, it's counterproductive to the 20-day cycle. I struggled for close to 10 years, and now a losing day of 2 or 3 R is a winner because I'm not doubling down and losing 20% revenge trading. I know within that cycle I will have 7 to 10 R days a few times every cycle and many 1 to 3 R days. All the best with your trading.

I'm starting to be afraid that these habits will never go away, I just want to get past this hump so badly. Best of luck with your trading thank you for sharing these raw emotions. It's so hard.
Great honesty and insight into what it can really be like trading. It can be really tough, especially when we pile a lot of pressure onto ourselves to perform, sunk cost fallacy is so strong in trading.
I feel you man! It is brutal!! My advice is: Have a clear strat, walk away from screen by setting alarms, dont see prices if alarms do not ring and follow your plan no matter what!!!! Also, pick 1 instrument and just trade that....1 position per week is OK...
You will never be successful if you walk away after one loss. You need to be able to take every opportunity that presents itself. Each trade is independent of the other
It's tough as hell for sure. One thing I've done that have helped is to keep a few evals handy (maybe load some during a sale), and to trade one of them when I'm tilted. So get all the revenge trading out of the way in an account that has the least destructive repercussions Hope your journey with this goes well
So relatable man, it’s crazy how quick things can change in a matter of minutes in the markets. Currently going through the struggles of self discipline with my trading, keep pushing!!
there is only two important variables sleeping good and eat some glucose to stimulate brain.rest is either u know chart or u dont in front of you,i used to blame anything but lack of knowledge, now i see more than i used to although still unprofitable,i can see difference why people call lack of discipline as culprit, they just didnt watched chart enough to anticipate correctly.those moments where you think you would hold or sold but u didnt coz of x y z - are lack of skill.you could be drunk, high but if u knew whats poppin on chart u would jump and make move confidently and same to exit position on time
Happens brother, It's part of a game where psychology makes 90% of it. Understanding the mistakes and getting back up from such a situation will make you improve so much as a trader, slow and steady, you got this.
Just seeing this and applaud you for sharing on such a vulnerable/fragile day of trading. In my early months/years I had similar emotional experiences!!! I hope you, and all retail/individual investors who read this, are becoming a success story like myself. I am now beating the market with a highly focused, much less activity, systematic approach. If you think every day is an opportunity, you are going to lose more than you make long-term. If one engages the market like a casino, you will lose all of your money over time. I have now began managing a portion of 4 of my family member's investments and it feels so satisfying to grow their money systematically every month while growing my accounts simultaneously. Finally, if someone figures out they are not competing with the market, there is nothing wrong with having a mutual fund and ETFs you contribute to instead of self.
Thanks for the video man it takes a real man to admit and show the true colors of trading even wen I break even I get discouraged but one thing I will not do is revenge trade best of luck to u bro
After a loss it’s best to call it a day. For me I’ve noticed that one loss usually follows another but if I take a loss & come back till tomorrow it’s usually a win
It happens Most of the time when I don't follow my plan, I usually feel exactly like you. The great traders are best at losing. Following rules and Discipline is definitely the most difficult thing to do when trading.
Awesome video. It’s shows that raw side of trading. I can’t wait to see you 2 years from now looking back on this video like dang I remember these mistakes back then.
Man I feel you this is the most horrible shit that can happen. I've had this too but I have been forcing myself lately to get off the charts as soon as I feel slightly emotional. Anyways hope you're doing better now
As someone who has heard his fair share of the mental brutality trading has on we who actually wanna do this for lifetime and even transition to a business like structure this is part of the process . This days trading is boring cus I'm a swing trader with clears rules .I think you'll come to learn this is business and also remember life is bigger that this . With time you'll heal and come back stronger its the only way to grow. I'm off a tangent but yall traders stay blessed and have fun while doing it do go too crazy lol
Keep your head up brother. Practice meditation and be thankful for what you have and learned along the way. You will make up for it in time. Anything is possible brother I have been there before and made my way back out, you can do it too.
I have had 50k down days. You need to just accept it and walk away early. Go work out, take a walk and do other things to clear your find and comeback fresh been trading for 13 years now.
8 months after your video, had a horrible day. Lost 3R and gambled my live account. Went down -9 and luckily came back to -4. Now trying to cool off to be back to face with new struggle. Keep it up bro!
You will get better over time. When you have fomo, make bad decisions, I over trade bad on gbpusd, you get sidetracked on my own Directional Bias, On to the next trade your got this.
Thanks for sharing this friend. Its valuable for people thinking about making the jump. "Know yourself" seems applicable here. Chillax and make it back plus more.
Thanks for sharing. It's good that you managed to keep the account without liquidating it, I'm on my first funded account, 3/10 days so far. And very worried about having the same experience. Something I find useful is "put yourself in tomorrows shoes". If you can imagine the next day, what will you think of your current actions.
That’s extremely wise. I like that saying. This is a pretty old video now, and I’ve since switched to a Topstep account, which seems to have a much better payout requirements
I've tried day trading so many times. I even got a job trading onsite with a real brick and mortar prop trading firm in the early 2000's. Day trading doesn't match my personality. When I switched to swing trading daily charts, that's when my trading career actually began. Swing trading isn't necessarily easier, but it matches how I make decisions and I how I go about solving problems. Day trading is like a video game I suck at and will never win. For me personally, swing trading is more like a business I can control and manage the risk. I still greatly admire successful day traders, I just know I will never be one of them.
I understand you 100%, I have taken big shots lot of times, just make sure you preserve capital to keep playing the game. You will come back, but remember withotu capital you cannot play the game.
this is real as fuck. thanks for this. even today i went on tilt but im glad that you help people feel like they arent alone in this cold ass journey to being profitable. keep it up bro. you'll 100% make it one day with discipline & ur mindset, always take those losses as lessons. losses make legends & ur in the process
This is my biggest problem. I've passed many evals. Never can get to a payout. I'm only six months in so I keep telling myself I'm ahead of the game. Head up bro.
The challenge never ends. Even passing the eval doesn't mean one will be profitable. A lot of people pass by gambling. But in the end they just lose it all.
Thank you for sharing your story. I want to say you’re not alone in how you feel when tilt becomes present. I try to work out immediately afterwards and even that doesn’t help or I have a lackluster workout because emotionally I’m still in the charts. I’m sure you have rebounded since you have posted this video. I am learning it is an everyday practice to manage our emotions, not getting to high or low and working on being okay with taking a loss and also reaffirming to ourselves that we are good at our kraft but sometimes “the market” is not in our favor based on our analysis for the day. Took a lot of reading and working on my psyche to not tear myself down as I did last year and still working on it present day. Good luck on your journey.
During my Preparation Phase (1 day before) I already subtracted the amount needed for today's trade from the total balance. I try to make myself believe that, that is the cost to play, and it has already left from hands and what's left it my balance and not what's on the table.
holy shit, mad respect brother, you lost less than 50% of your funded acc on a tilt/revenge trading day, you are doing great tbh, because you realised it soon enough.. me on the other hand, ive lost several funded acc due to tilt, blacking out completely and when I get to my self again ill see I lost the acc. Your risk management is on point though!
Thank you for the positivity my friend. It absolutely feels like a “blackout” and there is almost no control over it because you almost don’t know it’s happening, I’ve been working to bring more awareness to all of this recently
Days like these make or break you man get a good lift and back on the horse tmrw Ive been trading for 2 years and Im just now not breaking my rules anymore
No one really understand a the daily battles traders encounter. Being in a state of utter resentment to yourself and knowing there’s a high chance you’ll do exactly the same thing again.
I literally had this happen today. I put on chevelle, journaled my day on tradezella and lived to trade another day. Shit happens emotions flare, just can’t let them run your life all the time. Just gotta move on.
Trading is very painful and difficult. FOMO and getting in early to not miss the move, the patience to see a setup and wait for confirmation, all the algos running stops on both sides, being up and in one second turning from an ok profit into full stop. The iceburgs just showing up even during huge selling and holding price. Now imagine trading not knowing even what you're doing. Took me 3 years of pain and almost consistently profitable.
Wow... I feel your pain. Get a group together. I'm working on putting one together here where I live in Florida. Where we meet up and trade together. We will also keep each other from doing this. After 1 winner close your computer. After 2 losses close your computer. Hang in there. Don't give up! Just get back in there and size down. Stay off social media. Going it out... I have 1 250k account that I trade. I trade 5 micros. Goal is $250 / day. There's no real stress trading micros. And since I don't do social media I'm not influenced by all of the 20 account guys showing $60k weeks and all of that crap. Focus on you and do you but at a minimum get a trading accountability partner.
I see you've stepped away from it from the time being Mike, but I absolutely agree day trading is a dark and lonely journey. For those who are on this path, know that if you stick with it and learn from every loss, you will make progress. You absolutely need to exercise discipline as much as possible not only in your actual trading but in your daily life and center it around trading. Give yourself the best possible mindstate to trade each day. This is hard but worth it.
When it comes to trading or investing , you identify the direction of the market and give yourself a term (you're either a bull or a bear). But the real fact is when the market hits you , you hit only one place; that is the ground. This is not only on the wall streets but any markets around the globe. Cheers.
YES MATE! AND SOMETIMES, BY WINNING CONSECETIVELY WE THINK THAT WE KNOW EVERYTHING IN THE MARKET AND OUR BRAIN AND HEART FILLS UP WITH EGO AND THEN IT BECOMES IMPORTANT FOR US TO BECOME HUMBLE AND THE MARKET DOES THAT FOR THAT IS MAKE US HUMBLE AND ONCE YOU BECOME EXTREMELY HUMBLE AND GRATEFUL, THEN THE ALMIGHTY IS GOING TO OPEN THE DOORS FOR YOU! WISHING YOU SUCCESS@@themikwebber ❤
I am 30 YO man and i have felt like soon getting a heart attack couple times, disgusting feeling buddy I feel you! Risk management rules are the key of trading.good luck !
Did you have a realistic max loss number that you follow? It's a game changer but also super hard to implement. I've been trading for two years and am profitable but not following my max loss has cost me so much unnecessary pain, frustration and slowed my progress. I feel you! Now I have been following a strict max loss the last month FINALLY and it's a huge help emotionally and definitely financially. If you can master the discipline to follow max loss as closely as possible and as often as possible it's the difference between big profitability and not. Thanks for sharing this!
that why I only trade 52 weeks high breakout trading strategy bc everyone is on high alert when 52 weeks high is broken. Guarantee 100% volatility and clean price action. It technically a swing trade bc it broke out on higher time frame, but it is also a day trade bc it always happens intraday. Every 1-2 weeks u will see these opportunities either on Thursday, Friday, Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday. These strategies only work in bull market on higher time frame which we already in. I already automate the trade with trailing stop using risk 1:3 reward.
Respect your trading plan, discipline is everything. Remember this day, next time you are in a similar position, remember what you went through and walk away.
It is rough. I know that feeling. Biggest loss in a day for me was $24k. Wasn't all my fault....the trading platform locked up....they had issues....I couldn't get out. That hurt more....nothing I could do as my account blew up.

2:45 More than discipline is needed: Taking Responsibility is required.
Good luck 👍
Thank you my friend. I appreciate the positivity
You say it right mate, the pain is the lesson. Thanks for sharing, you´ll come back stronger!!
This game is so much fun. Personal development is the key I imagine
Keep going man. I feel you
Thank you!
It's tough as hell for sure. One thing I've done that have helped is to keep a few evals handy (maybe load some during a sale), and to trade one of them when I'm tilted. So get all the revenge trading out of the way in an account that has the least destructive repercussions
Hope your journey with this goes well
Thank you my friend. That’s very smart, I started trading on Topstep and they now have a “lockout” feature which is really handy when I start to tilt
Much love brother, I feel you on all levels, this is tough❤ We must grow in self control and discipline ❤
Absolutely brother, thank you for your positivity
Sorry that happened. You’ll be back better than ever!
All day every day :)
So relatable man, it’s crazy how quick things can change in a matter of minutes in the markets. Currently going through the struggles of self discipline with my trading, keep pushing!!
You too brother! Thanks for the positivity
there is only two important variables sleeping good and eat some glucose to stimulate brain.rest is either u know chart or u dont in front of you,i used to blame anything but lack of knowledge, now i see more than i used to although still unprofitable,i can see difference why people call lack of discipline as culprit, they just didnt watched chart enough to anticipate correctly.those moments where you think you would hold or sold but u didnt coz of x y z - are lack of skill.you could be drunk, high but if u knew whats poppin on chart u would jump and make move confidently and same to exit position on time
I feel you brother, I've been there and still going through it, lets keep going, remember why we're doing this.
Thank you for the positivity brother !
Happens brother, It's part of a game where psychology makes 90% of it. Understanding the mistakes and getting back up from such a situation will make you improve so much as a trader, slow and steady, you got this.
Thanks King. I really appreciate the positivity.
Well I greatly appreciate your positivity, and I figured sharing this video would help and do good for the community
Know how you feel, stay strong and try to get away from this
Thank you my friend! I appreciate the oositivity
The hardest thing is when we are trying to get ahead yet end up taking multiple steps back. I know the pain. You’re not alone. Trading is no joke
All we can hope to do is keep bettering ourselves, and try to minimize this happening in the future
@@themikwebber exactly all the best of luck. I’m on the forex trading side trying my best aswell. We have our families to take care of
We’re all in the same boat. Keep killing it King. 👑
Verschlimmbesserung. German word. Look it up.
@@themikwebber you too brother
Thanks for the video man it takes a real man to admit and show the true colors of trading even wen I break even I get discouraged but one thing I will not do is revenge trade best of luck to u bro
I appreciate the positivity brother. Means alot
After a loss it’s best to call it a day. For me I’ve noticed that one loss usually follows another but if I take a loss & come back till tomorrow it’s usually a win
I’ve been getting better about walking away after losses
It happens Most of the time when I don't follow my plan, I usually feel exactly like you. The great traders are best at losing. Following rules and Discipline is definitely the most difficult thing to do when trading.
Trading is a wonderful game lol
Awesome video. It’s shows that raw side of trading. I can’t wait to see you 2 years from now looking back on this video like dang I remember these mistakes back then.
Thank you :) yeah I look forward to it. Being able to look back on this channel will be something special !
@@themikwebber yeah I’m trading a prop firm account takeprofittrader and it sucks to do bad trades but I’m learning as well.
You should let me know when you get a payout, I’m really curious. Check out my video I did about them a couple weeks ago
thank you for sharing!! you'll definitely get it through
Thank you my friend!
Man I feel you this is the most horrible shit that can happen. I've had this too but I have been forcing myself lately to get off the charts as soon as I feel slightly emotional. Anyways hope you're doing better now
Doing a lot better my friend! Thanks for the positivity
Know the feeling, nowadays if I dont feel great about myself or good in the head, I dont even look at my computer. Thanks for sharing this.
For sure my friend. I am the same way now , doing way better
Thanks for the positivity my friend!
Hang in there brother stick to your system you will be successful.
Thanks brother! I appreciate that
Keep your head up brother. Practice meditation and be thankful for what you have and learned along the way. You will make up for it in time. Anything is possible brother I have been there before and made my way back out, you can do it too.
Your positivity is infectious brother, thank you so much. I am much better since this video
@@themikwebber thank you. good to hear youre doing well now...god bless, take care. 🤝
Trial by fire, my friend. Such is the price we all must pay, for freedom.
Very true my friend. Thanks for the positivity
i feel you bro, thats why i step back whenever there is news just wait for it to calm down a bit.then i attack again.
Thanks for the positivity my friend
Love the transparency my friend
Always
Truly thinking in terms of probabilities has help me tremendously.
Absolutely!
I have had 50k down days. You need to just accept it and walk away early. Go work out, take a walk and do other things to clear your find and comeback fresh been trading for 13 years now.
Very true my friend
I have cried three times in my trading career... Keep fucking pushing it man!
I appreciate the transparency, that’s great!
All of us have losing days. But what I have found is its not how you win in this game, it is how you lose that matters.
Only 3 times? Man you must be a beginner.
I went through this last week its so hard man I feel you completely hope your doing ok
I’m doing well. I learned a lot about myself from this experience. Thank you for your positivity my friend
Thanks for sharing. We traders are a special breed.
lol very true
I feel that. I'm down 98% from a tilt month in February. Lost almost 3k. We're gonna make it though. All part of the journey.
It’s a hauntingly beautiful journey lol
I love this, I felt this pain before I blew my personal account I was up $3k from $1k and traded news and got wrecked
It’s real for us all isn’t it? Lol
8 months after your video, had a horrible day. Lost 3R and gambled my live account. Went down -9 and luckily came back to -4. Now trying to cool off to be back to face with new struggle.
Keep it up bro!
You too brother! Stay positive
You will get better over time. When you have fomo, make bad decisions, I over trade bad on gbpusd, you get sidetracked on my own Directional Bias, On to the next trade your got this.
Thank you for the positivity my friend :)
Thanks for sharing this friend. Its valuable for people thinking about making the jump. "Know yourself" seems applicable here. Chillax and make it back plus more.
Absolutely! I appreciate the positivity for sure. I’ll be back in no time
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your story bud👍
I appreciate the positivity my friend!
I would be much more inclined to swing trade if there was a prop firm that allowed you to do that consistently
Funded trader plus
happens to everyone in this industry anytime heads up you will make it
Thanks for the positivity friend!
Had the same recently, brutal, thanks for sharing. Good to know you arent alone.
No problem. Keep your head up my friend
I understand you 100%, I have taken big shots lot of times, just make sure you preserve capital to keep playing the game. You will come back, but remember withotu capital you cannot play the game.
Thanks Charles I appreciate your positivity brother
this is real as fuck. thanks for this. even today i went on tilt but im glad that you help people feel like they arent alone in this cold ass journey to being profitable. keep it up bro. you'll 100% make it one day with discipline & ur mindset, always take those losses as lessons. losses make legends & ur in the process
Dude I really appreciate the positivity brother. This space can get super toxic
This is my biggest problem. I've passed many evals. Never can get to a payout. I'm only six months in so I keep telling myself I'm ahead of the game. Head up bro.
Thank you my friend, it sounds like you are doing great!
Which strategy you use bro
Thank your for the positivity brother it is greatly appreciated
During my Preparation Phase (1 day before) I already subtracted the amount needed for today's trade from the total balance. I try to make myself believe that, that is the cost to play, and it has already left from hands and what's left it my balance and not what's on the table.
Oh very nice
holy shit, mad respect brother, you lost less than 50% of your funded acc on a tilt/revenge trading day, you are doing great tbh, because you realised it soon enough.. me on the other hand, ive lost several funded acc due to tilt, blacking out completely and when I get to my self again ill see I lost the acc. Your risk management is on point though!
Thank you for the positivity my friend. It absolutely feels like a “blackout” and there is almost no control over it because you almost don’t know it’s happening, I’ve been working to bring more awareness to all of this recently
Shout out to you for the transparency 💪🏽
Thank you brother,
Drawdown brother. Trade as you normally would and embrace the suck. If winning feels different to losing you aren’t there yet. God bless❤
I appreciate the positivity brother!
Days like these make or break you man get a good lift and back on the horse tmrw Ive been trading for 2 years and Im just now not breaking my rules anymore
You’re absolutely right. Thanks for the positivity brother!
the hardest part about trading is being human. fs. keep going brotha
Thanks for the positivity brother.
No one really understand a the daily battles traders encounter. Being in a state of utter resentment to yourself and knowing there’s a high chance you’ll do exactly the same thing again.
Yeah it’s brutal for sure
If you can make it through your darkest days there is a glorious light waiting for you. However, the choice is yours if you ever experience it.
I literally had this happen today. I put on chevelle, journaled my day on tradezella and lived to trade another day. Shit happens emotions flare, just can’t let them run your life all the time. Just gotta move on.
For sure my man
Trading is very painful and difficult.
Just gotta stay consistent and try to continuously get better
we all have been through day trading is crazyyyy
For sure lol I appreciate the positivity
I appreciate the positivity! Fortunately this is just a side gig
Keep grinding bro. Took me a legit 5 years to get it right.
Thank you for the positivity my friend. That’s encouraging
I appreciate your positivity my friend
When it comes to trading or investing , you identify the direction of the market and give yourself a term (you're either a bull or a bear). But the real fact is when the market hits you , you hit only one place; that is the ground.
This is not only on the wall streets but any markets around the globe. Cheers.
Thanks friend! Appreciate it
Wishing you the best man
very brave!
I appreciate it! Just trying to be myself ya know?
WISHING YOU SUCCESS@@themikwebber
❤
I am 30 YO man and i have felt like soon getting a heart attack couple times, disgusting feeling buddy I feel you! Risk management rules are the key of trading.good luck !
Love the positivity my friend! Yes my risk management is definitely getting an adjustment after this
Man I feel ya on this, I lost over 100k and was hurting for so long over that loss
Yup lol this game is crazy
Did you have a realistic max loss number that you follow? It's a game changer but also super hard to implement. I've been trading for two years and am profitable but not following my max loss has cost me so much unnecessary pain, frustration and slowed my progress. I feel you! Now I have been following a strict max loss the last month FINALLY and it's a huge help emotionally and definitely financially. If you can master the discipline to follow max loss as closely as possible and as often as possible it's the difference between big profitability and not. Thanks for sharing this!
Yeah shortly after this started defining my plan and outlining the max loss stuff lol thanks for the positivity my friend
that why I only trade 52 weeks high breakout trading strategy bc everyone is on high alert when 52 weeks high is broken.
Sounds like a great system
Sorry... just to clarify, these opportunities can happen basically Monday-Friday? Did I read that correctly LOL
Respect your trading plan, discipline is everything. Remember this day, next time you are in a similar position, remember what you went through and walk away.
For sure, it was a great learning day for me
i got funded for the first time today im nervous and i havent even taken trades yet on it but i need to be confident in my strategy
congrats! im still working on so much, its hard to get things settled down. just remember this is a long game!
It is rough. I know that feeling. Biggest loss in a day for me was $24k. Wasn't all my fault....the trading platform locked up....they had issues....I couldn't get out. That hurt more....nothing I could do as my account blew up.
That’s brutal, let’s keep our head in the game!
