  • I have been wanting to make some sci-fi inspired corridors/tunnels for a long time. I finally sat down and did just that. I hope you enjoy!

    These would be the great start of a Space Hulk board, too!

      You are absolutely correct! Thank you. It was definitely something I thought would work for that, I'm just not that familiar Space Hulk so I didn't mention it.

    Oh *heck* yes, this is perfect timing. A friend and I are running a Dark Heresy campaign for the gang and I've been looking for some inspiration to make some terrain!

    WOW, Fantastic!!! The only change I would have made is reduce the height of the top chipboard piece by about an inch, just to allow my fat hands to reach the models.

      @adventuresincrafting2022  5 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yes. You aren't the first to say something like that. It was definitely a consideration. Ultimately, I chose the taller walls to match the esthetic of some of my other pieces. However, I would likely make shorter walls if I was making a ton of these. Would be easier for game play and save me some materials as well.

    Looking great there! There's nothing that screams sci-fi like slanted walls and uncovered support structures.

    Looks great! I can imagine some pretty intense firefights in such tight spaces! Lots of story opportunities there, for sure.

    • @adventuresincrafting2022
      @adventuresincrafting2022  5 месяцев назад

      Yes indeed! I was thinking the same thing. I can see a running firefight as a team tries to escape after completing some mission.

    Very cool. Looks a bit cumbersome to move the minis around with the tops of the walls tilting inwards, but it definitely gives it a better look for Sci-Fi. Well done!

    • @adventuresincrafting2022

      Thank you! It is a little tight, but I made them wider than needed to attempt to overcome them cumbersome aspect of moving figures.

    @metalman895 5 месяцев назад +1

    This looks great! I think I'd make some where the wall stops just above the first angle part. That way it'd be easier to see inside from all across the table.

    • @adventuresincrafting2022
      @adventuresincrafting2022  5 месяцев назад

      I definitely considered that. After looking at a bunch of references photos of pre-made terrain I found their walls were taller, but I agree. It would also make the figures easier to access and move.

    • @metalman895

      @@adventuresincrafting2022 I can totally see either style being the right choice. For war games yours would be ideal, as line of sight would not be left up to the imagination. I think half height walls are popular with RPGs.

    The corridors look good. These particular slanted walls read more Farscape or Andromeda to me than Star Trek. Although the "Enterprise" of the show with the same name had more deck grating than the more futuristic models of the original series and Next Generation.
    I like how all of your projects fall into a generic sci-fi setting. And I could see these corridors going well with your habitation pods to form a barracks.

    • @adventuresincrafting2022
      @adventuresincrafting2022  5 месяцев назад +1

      I love Farscape! Andromeda was pretty fun as well. Yes, these are definitely more Enterprise than generic Star Trek, other than the ubiquitous angled walls. I was thinking the sesthetic. Regwrding my hab build.. Precisely why I wanted to keep the asthetic. Thank you!

      @@adventuresincrafting2022 It is not easy, you need to keep the pipes and gribleys to the minimum, you need to keep in mind the terrain's lenght and hight, since I try to keep them in shueboes while I carry them to the bar we are usualy play!

    Any recommendation for a alternative for the frames for someone without a 3D printer?

    • @adventuresincrafting2022
      @adventuresincrafting2022  5 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely! Sketch out a shape you like for the wall panels and make a nlbasic template. Use that template to transfer the shape to cardboard, card stock, foam core, or whatever material you want to use. Then start cutting. You can add details like small circles from a paper whole punch or small beads to give it some texture. I hope that helps and thank you for watching!
