I wanted to make some more self lit terrain, so I did. Using a parking light cover, ironically. Let me know your thoughts!

I wanted to make a simple and quick build that can be the setting for many skirmish games set in a sci-fi world. I experiment with colors and use a scattered layout while using up some old off cuts from previous builds. Patreon: patreon.com/user?u=28480853

Plasma Reactor Generator Thing. Also, it's a one day build.

I use a lot of random bits to make scratch build a self lighted plasma generator, nuclear reactor, object for your table top. It could be a great set piece for a tabletop rpg, Warhammer, Necromunda, Stargrave, Star Wars Legion, Kill Team, Starfinder, and even Fallout. I would love to see what you all can build in a day. I am sure it would be amazing! Patreon: patreon.com/user?u=28480853 Music: ...

What more can be said? Probably very useful for The Walking Dead, Warhammer 40K, Fallout, and any other post apocalyptic RPG or wargame. Super cheap and simple to build. If I can do it then anyone can! patreon.com/user?u=28480853 Music: bensound.com
Apocalyptic Overpass / Highway

I wanted to make something to go with my modular city streets to give them a bit more height. Here are my versions of modular ruined overpasses. I think they would do great on a Warhammer 40K, Kill Team, or Necromunda board. Additionally they would work with any sci-fi or post-apocalyptic TTRPG setting like Fallout or The Walking Dead. patreon: patreon.com/user?u=28480853 music: www.bensound.co...

Amazing stuff. I watched a few videos from your channel and I'm impressed on how tight everything looks. My builds always have a lot of jankiness lol
Thank you! I'm sure your stuff is great. We all have our own style and techniques.
That’s a cool piece, it definitely fits the decrepit industrial feel nicely! When it’s on the board with other terrain that really reinforces the sense of scale for it. Awesome work!
Thank you! I definitely like my builds with other structures for the same reason.
@@adventuresincrafting2022 For sure! Yeah, it builds the world really nicely.
Thanks!
And thank you very much!
Random crap put together to look awesome!!! 🤩
The pure definition of this sort of thing! Ha!
@@adventuresincrafting2022 absolutely!!!!
So many interesting parts. Awesome work, as usual! <3
Thank you so much!
Nice work
Thank you!
Bada bing its a thing on a thing I always enjoy seeing the unique stuff you have access to in your crafting! I used to work at a skishop so i will have chunks of broken boots and bindings to use. Looks awesome, that whole board is wonderfully dynamic, lots of play space and interesting bits
That honestly sounds like some very interesting bits! I'm jealous!
@@adventuresincrafting2022 I'm always willing to ship a few! I'm on your discord, I'll tell you more there.
Sweet!
This ist awesome! I love the idea of stackable and therefore modular Terrain 😊
Me too! I am still perfecting the design but I think they are pretty cool overall.
Where did you get I beams in that size?
At The Treasure Chest in Missoula, MT. It's a fantastic and well stocked local hobby shop.
@@adventuresincrafting2022 thank you 🙏🏽
awesome build
Thank you!
you really need to buy the toothpaste squeezer to make the corrugated metal. life changer
I absolutely agree. Odds are I will just 3d print one at this point.

Thank you for watching and subscribing!
Really great terrain!
Thank you so much!
I love it! I see you’ve been verdigrised already, so that’s good. Haha! I’d love to see some flocking for decay, I know ye can come up with some awesome sci-fi flocking!!!
Yes, I have definitely been educated on the word I should know. I definitely have to look at what I can do with scifi flocking. What a concept!
Never be sorry for delays. I’m sure many of us, including myself, completely understand 😊😊😊 Cool nature tile 😊
Thank you so much for your understanding and watching, as always! 😁
@@adventuresincrafting2022 you are welcome 🤗
Beautiful green parks can totally fit in an post apocalyptic setting, when they're inside a dome-like thing surrounded by a wasteland.
So very true. I do intend to make some sort of biodome thing at some point. Likely as part of a complex of structures. Think Mars colony esque.
Verdigris. :D
As soon as I posted the video it came to me. I feel like such a ninny! Ha! Thank you!
A beautiful little park! It fits so perfectly in the lot between the roads. A couple of benches and trashcans, or a flowerbed around the statue, might be nice additions, if you want to add more details. I hope your work and computer situation improves asap.
I definitely considered benches and trash cans and maybe even a little pond. Unfortunately, time got the better of me in this instance. I plan to make another larger one for one of the rectangular sections and will definitely add in those details. Thank you so much! The computer is working again, but working two jobs is still a thing for the time being.
Verdegris.
Doh! How could I forget such an awesome word? Thank you!
This came out just fine. And yes, rivets are absolutely necessary.
Thank you! What is a dystopian/post apocalyptic/sci-fi thingy without rivets?
I should have seen you WAY earlier as my hobby table is still full of bad attempts! Your system looks real easy!
I know we all have bad attempts sometimes. Hopefully, my video gives you some other options to try.
I never thought I would ever need to make a shantytown … and now that I do, I knew exactly who to come to. You da man!
You rock! Glad I can help!
Pretty nifty! Looks great top AND bottom! Paper towel tubes are so useful. If you want to make them really strong, roll up some cardboard and shove it inside. Then insert a few bamboo skewers. Paint the ends with elmer's glue and you are done. This works if you are building levels. That way it can really hold some weight if needed.
Great idea! These are actually tubes from Parchment paper rolls. Much more sturdy than paper towel roll, but a great suggestion nonetheless. Thank you!
@@adventuresincrafting2022 Yes those much stronger. Like the ones in aluminum foil rolls. Very tough. Forgot to mention, I really like how you rolled the foam around the tubes. Makes for great detail! The 3d printed I-beams are well done. A 3D printer does speed up the process. I just purchased a laser cutter. Going to use in to cut all my cardstock, mdf and hardboard. I can cut it by hand, but I'm use to designing signs and cutting vinyl. Been in the sign business just over 3 decades. A laser cutter will just speed up my process and make the parts more accurate. Plus it will give my fingers a break from the exacto knife. lol Another fine video. Keep up the good work.
I am jealous! I have considered getting a laser cutter myself for the very same reason. Funnily enough, I used to install vinyl signs years ago. I bet you can make some awesome decals, backdrops, and facades with those skills. Nice!
You might get granny grating to stick to superglue, if you roughen up the surface with sandpaper. Even if it's only the topmost layer, while avoiding the recesses, it might do the trick.
Thank you for that advice. I have tried it with no success. I have considered using gorilla construction adhesive but haven't tried yet.
I loved how the structure looks from underneath at 11:58. At first I was like "meh it's a platform" but seeing the different ways other terrain could be incorporated on it changed my view. This is fantastic.
I'm glad I was able to sway you! I know it's simple but has so much potential.
Sorted cheers! I have been trying to figure out how to build the inside of the Fortress I built in my latest video. I now know what I am doing!
Awesome! Glad I could help. Was just about to watch that one. Thumbnail looks fantastic!
@@adventuresincrafting2022 Cheers it was hard work but I do have some cool pics. Enjoy.
I loved the video. Had to watch it twice but the 2nd time was just to listen while I work. You have a very soothing voice.
Well, I've heard I have a face for radio. Ha! Thank you so much for watching!
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Thank you!
I like this video so much that I watched it twice and subbed. Good info and nice easy approach to everything. Very inspiring.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it and welcome!
Excellent work.
Thank you!
Love these (non-magnetic) walls and connectors
Those darn magnets! Thank you!
Very cool. Looks a bit cumbersome to move the minis around with the tops of the walls tilting inwards, but it definitely gives it a better look for Sci-Fi. Well done!
Thank you! It is a little tight, but I made them wider than needed to attempt to overcome them cumbersome aspect of moving figures.
Star Wars Legion players could use these to replicate a Polis Massa board from the 2005 Battlefront 2.
Nice! I had no idea. That's really awesome. Thank you!
Any recommendation for a alternative for the frames for someone without a 3D printer?
Absolutely! Sketch out a shape you like for the wall panels and make a nlbasic template. Use that template to transfer the shape to cardboard, card stock, foam core, or whatever material you want to use. Then start cutting. You can add details like small circles from a paper whole punch or small beads to give it some texture. I hope that helps and thank you for watching!
@@adventuresincrafting2022 Ah good idea, can't wait to try
10/10 Perfect for boarding action game👍👍👍

Thank you! I was definitely looking for usability.
@@adventuresincrafting2022 you are welcome ☺️

I'm glad you liked it!
are thre files for the printed parts?
Yes there are. I'm going to set it up so they are available through my patreon. I should have that done in the next week or so.
These came out great. I'd definitely use them for my Alien and Star Wars games.
Nice! I could definitely see xenomorphs obliterating some marines in these corridors!
Really cool. I subscribed to your Patreon hoping to get a copy of the files. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you so much! I think I need to setup a drop box account. That seems to be the easiest way so you all can get the stls.
@@adventuresincrafting2022Thank you!
It is a shame I am a travelling GM, and cant build things like this, becous it would be a nightmare to carry it around! Nice build as always. Comment for the Comment God, Like for the algorythm throne!
I can imagine how hard that would be traveling and toting all that terrain. No thank you to that. Thank you for your sacrifice to the youtube elders!.
@@adventuresincrafting2022 It is not easy, you need to keep the pipes and gribleys to the minimum, you need to keep in mind the terrain's lenght and hight, since I try to keep them in shueboes while I carry them to the bar we are usualy play!
That is definitely a chore to keep all that in mind. However, playing at a bar? That definitely sounds great! Jealous!
@@adventuresincrafting2022 We are useing a hobby place what is also a Warhammer themed bar/pub. With (mostly)Warhammer (and DnD) themed coctails and decor!😅
That is truly epic!
I found your rings to be very distracting. That’s a lot of rings.
Ha! That is the first I've had anyone say anything about my rings.
Looks really good! Well done. Instant fan :P
Thank you so much!
The corridors look good. These particular slanted walls read more Farscape or Andromeda to me than Star Trek. Although the "Enterprise" of the show with the same name had more deck grating than the more futuristic models of the original series and Next Generation. I like how all of your projects fall into a generic sci-fi setting. And I could see these corridors going well with your habitation pods to form a barracks.
I love Farscape! Andromeda was pretty fun as well. Yes, these are definitely more Enterprise than generic Star Trek, other than the ubiquitous angled walls. I was thinking the sesthetic. Regwrding my hab build.. Precisely why I wanted to keep the asthetic. Thank you!
WOW, Fantastic!!! The only change I would have made is reduce the height of the top chipboard piece by about an inch, just to allow my fat hands to reach the models.
Oh yes. You aren't the first to say something like that. It was definitely a consideration. Ultimately, I chose the taller walls to match the esthetic of some of my other pieces. However, I would likely make shorter walls if I was making a ton of these. Would be easier for game play and save me some materials as well.
Looking great there! There's nothing that screams sci-fi like slanted walls and uncovered support structures. <3
Exactly! Thank you!
This looks great! I think I'd make some where the wall stops just above the first angle part. That way it'd be easier to see inside from all across the table.
I definitely considered that. After looking at a bunch of references photos of pre-made terrain I found their walls were taller, but I agree. It would also make the figures easier to access and move.
@@adventuresincrafting2022 I can totally see either style being the right choice. For war games yours would be ideal, as line of sight would not be left up to the imagination. I think half height walls are popular with RPGs.
love your vids but turn off the music or turn your mic up!
Great advice and thank you!
Looks great! I can imagine some pretty intense firefights in such tight spaces! Lots of story opportunities there, for sure.
Yes indeed! I was thinking the same thing. I can see a running firefight as a team tries to escape after completing some mission.
