Dude this is like foreshadowing, this is what happened to Ryan Newman for 2020 Daytona 500 and he was knocked out cold. Dude I thought he was gonna die
Carl could have killed him you can see the whole roof dented in which could have collapsed on him killing him. And that was 100% intentional you can see Carl come up. Even at dega Carl came down on the 02 and got turned
This is why I will NEVER feel sorry for how NASCAR screwed Carl out of a championship. He could have (and almost did) kill Keselowski here. And he was given "probation." Are you kidding me?
Yeah dude seriously. How is it just okay to do something like this intentionally? He easily could have been killed. If you don't like the guy, exchange a couple hay-makers after the race or something.
I have to agree with "Speed". The Talladega crash last year, and the 2 crashes in Atlanta this year were all Carl's fault. Carl comes down the track when there is no hole. I lost a whole lot of respect for Carl after this incident. No call for this!
I remember watching this live and my Mom happened to be in the same room with me. She was not a big racing fan and she was PISSED when she saw it was intentional and said Carl needed to be parked or suspended. Looking back I am stunned Carl Edward’s didn’t get suspended.
I am not a big keslowski fan, but I call them how i see them. If you are not blind you can clearly see that at talladega all brad did was hold his line with carl turning down on him. Also, the accident on lap 41 of this race you can also clearly see that brad is as far down as he can go without going bellow the line onto the apron. Carl turns down on him at a sharp angle. I mean you can see the angle carl is at and him closing the distance between the two coming down. Poor driving on carl
i probably Carl had an horrific crash slammin through the catch fence and his car almost blow aawy pieces but when on Brad he just been a beautiful flip trick. but i like Carl did he done payback. "i need some open space cmon! ok i barely bump u out"
For the people who say that Carl only did it in retaliation cuz of the Dega crash, they show Brad getting into Carl early in the race, resulting in Carl getting into Logano and into the wall. Carl had to go to the garage and ruined his chances of winning the race. I'd give Brad a little spin-a-rooo too. I respect every driver in NASCAR regardless of my feelings against them personally.
If you want me to blow your mind, 20 - 25 years ago, turns 3 and 4 were turns 1 and 2 and the front stretch was the backstretch and it didn't have dog legs
The early bump Carl got from Brad was Carl's own fault today. He came down into Brad. Last year at Talledega though, Brad bumped Carl on purpose. And Brad has done this several times. If these guys aren't penalized, this is going to keep going on, probably until somebody gets killed. Then NASCAR might start sanctioning these kinds of actions. In the meantime, it's like professional hockey. The league lets the fights and crashes go on because frankly, people like to see them.
Look. Edwards was paying back Keselowski. Okay, he turned him. No one expected Brad to flip. That's why the spoilers were back. The two have somewhat patched things up, so what about we all let go of this huh?
@omslemming well nascar does have a huge world wide fan base, they have had races in mexico, canada, japan, and australia. the have an estimated 75 million fans around the world, nascar is broadcast in over 150 countries, nascar holds 17 of the top 20 attended single-day sporting events in the world, and most of all, nascar has amazing history. the great races, finishes, rivalries, drivers, and even haunted tracks, thats just a little fun fact. anyway i think that i have made my point
As much as I hate to admit it, Nascar made the right choice on suspending Carl for 3 races. From my point of view, it looks like Carl spun Brad out as payback for what happened at Talladega. Sorry Carl, but you lost my respect for what you did to Brad.
Carl Edwards was 100+ laps down and came back on the track to take out Brad Keselowski who was running in ther top 5. Carl made the wrong decision. He had Martinsville and Bristol comming up, he could of done it then. But then again if Brad's car never flipped then this would not even be that big of an issue. Can't wait to see what NASCAR does.
the punishment dished out to Carl actually is the most consist thing they done in the last few years since They said they were going to let the drivers race. I still didn't like what Carl did but at least Nascar was consistent...
First wreck at Atlanta, Edwards went down into brad, Talladega, Edwards went down into brad. the rest were Keselowski's fault but he was racing for wins and lots of other drivers take each other out like that. Nascar says that 70 percent of fans that took the poll voted Keselowski as innocent and it was very wrong to wreck somebody when you are 160 laps down and when brad is going for a 6th place finish. AND at a fast track like Atlanta.Edwards was wrong, that's why he was parked.
Are you talking about Atlanta or Dega? Cos this is clearly intentional and Carl Edwards was about 100+laps down when he wrecked Brad. Also this race was a great race. I liked Mark Martins comeback from a lap down only to get caught up in a wreck indirectly linked to this one.
They say the spoiler will help, but I Don't know if it will. If I remember correctly, The car did the same thing with the spoiler on several occasions. Just ask Elliot Sadler. After all, he took one of nascar's most prestigious flips. Who else.. uh oh yea, Michael Waltrip in 2000. Tony Stewart in 2001. Just goes to show that I don't think that the spoiler will help much. Don't forget Allison's crash at Pocono too.
Sure, Carl Edwards can be aggressive sometimes, but to be fair, Brad spun out Carl and sent him into the Grand Stands at Talladega (through Edward's eyes and his fans'). So, he retaliated, as any driver would.
In all honest, keselowski didnt even wreck carl earlier in this race any more than carl wrecked himself, it was just a racing accident. What carl did was ridiculous
THis has been going on in the nationwide (use to be busch series) series for several races too. Brad ran over Edwards last year at Memphis. So this was the third or fourth time in this race that Brad got together and Carl Edwards ended up with a wrecked race car. I'm not saying what Edwards did was right. But for people wondering what would make Edwards do such a thing, that's probably what caused it.
I gotta disagree. I'm not a Brad or Carl fan, but both wrecks were Carl's fault. Carl dove down on him to block him in Dega. Brad can't help that Carl turned left on him in Dega, but that was a stupid thing for Carl to do.
What will it take for Nascar to take this sort of dangerous and wreckless behaviour seriously? A car flying into the grandstands and wiping out 100 fans?
@RacinKline I think they might do that. I will be at the race in Bristol. I'm not a fan of Brad but I think Carl went too far with this one. We'll see what NASCAR does to him on Tuesday.
You need a translator to understand JPM. And The great Jimmie Johnson caused one of the biggest nascar pileups in Talladega history and he calls everyone else idiots.
For what Carl did, what he did makes himself look like a fool, it's bad for himself, it makes his team look bad. His sponsers Scotts, Aflac, look bad, it's 'bad' enough that it makes Jack Roush and his whole team look bad! But, at least the two worked everything out.
I've said this before, I'll say it again. Each crash, brad held his line, Edwards came down on every one of them. Bottom line, Edwards sucks at racing.
@ThreeRiversRC yeah, you don't see Brad racing as hard around Edwards anymore, like you do the other drivers. I was watching all the videos with about 5 others drivers Brad was wrecking until this point. They asked Kyle Busch's crew chief in one, what he thinks. He said one day, someone is going to hurt this kid. He nailed it. I think it was Dave Rodgers.
I cannot believe that anyone can watch the video of the wreck on lap 40 and blame it on Keselowski. How ignorant can you be? BK is down low and Carl comes down the track, makes contact with Brad's front fender, and wrecks. Simple as that. Carl Edwards needs to grow up. He projects the image of being a likeable, good hearted guy, but the reality of it is that he is a hothead and a danger to anyone on the track whom he (incorrectly) perceives has wronged him. Carls fault 100% on both counts.
@tonystewartrocks14 Carl, it's pretty obvious, Carl tried to wreck him 1 lap before the crash, and couldnt get it done, so he came back the next lap. Carl turned so far up to the right that there wasnt room for a car where brad was.

@corkhead0 It was just a subliminal joke. The part about everyone acting like "crazies" yelling in anger or excitement is true I mean look at 'em. It just doesn't seem safe enough to me.
that statement at the end just proves why keselowski keeps getting wrecked "he's not made alot of friends" he's a punk that thinks he's the best and acts out of place IMO, i mean, he shouldnt get wrecked like he has, but he should get spun, and thanks to the wings (and his attitude), he's gotten in such wrecks, if that was the spoiler on the car like now, then that flip wouldnt of happened
@MrSockery Edwards only intended to spin him out, not to flip him over. Intentional wrecking seldom causes Nascar to ban drivers from races. It's not like they take advantage of this and wreck each other all the time though, it really doesn't happen very often. Also, if Nascar were to ban Edwards from racing, his sponsors would be pretty angry. Nascar doesn't want any sponsors angry, that's for sure. Companies pay LOTS of money on these drivers. Nascar is like one big advertisment going 200mph.
@tonystewartrocks14 really?? brad didnt turn down on him, he gave carl the whole race track and he was right up against the wall, edwards meant to get him back so its his fault
@tnkid8875 Brad didn't wreck Carl at 'Dega. Even Carl admits that one. Brad never moved his line when Carl attempted a blocking maneuver (which is just a natural driver move, no one's fault). It was more a product of the yellow line rule. And no one is going to back off when going for the win. And heck, the same could be said for the earlier wreck at Atlanta between the two. Brad didn't move his line and Carl was trying to get into a spot that wasn't open.
a car shouldn't fly like an airplane at only 175 mph. The old cars NEVER did that. Even at a restrictor plate race. They would have to be going at least 190 mph. Blame the wing.
Really what has Carl done since that season? Well to tell you the truth Ford hasn't done anything since that season Matt Kenseth won Daytona and California....Yes I know Carl should've held his line at Talladega his car flipped into the fence just like Brads did and At Atlanta early in the race Brad spun Carl again ruining his day...That is why Carl gave the payback not for the Talladega accident. I am sure Carl had no idea the car would lift off the ground and crash like that.
@bcris003 Are you kidding me? Look at the talladega footage again. All brad did was hold his line. Carl turned in on him and it is easily noticeable. Also, at this race when they made contact on lap 41, carl also turned in on brad again. Watch brad's wheels. They never move farther away or closer to the yellow line. In fact, he is as low is he can go before going over the yellow line on to the apron. you can clearly see carl turning down at a sharp angle. Not a smart move being the car in front.
@suntansuperman1983 You're right. He almost killed someone. Not only that, he went backwards on pit-road in response to NASCAR parking him and all he gets is a 3 race probabtion. If I was NASCAR Carl would have to sit a race out.

"And we have a caution" yeah no shit Larry a car went flying through the air i thought they'd keep it green
And Kenseth is the first driver in history to get suspended for an on track incident. Edwards could have killed Kes. What a rig.
The fourth. Kyle Busch, Robby Gordon and Kevin Harvick were all suspended for on track incidents.

I am sure Carl had no idea the car would lift off the ground and crash like that.
a blowover at atlanta. i doubt that will ever happen again with the spoiler
Why I’m not an Edwards fan
@bcris003 Are you kidding me? Look at the talladega footage again. All brad did was hold his line. Carl turned in on him and it is easily noticeable. Also, at this race when they made contact on lap 41, carl also turned in on brad again. Watch brad's wheels. They never move farther away or closer to the yellow line. In fact, he is as low is he can go before going over the yellow line on to the apron. you can clearly see carl turning down at a sharp angle. Not a smart move being the car in front.
@suntansuperman1983
You're right. He almost killed someone. Not only that, he went backwards on pit-road in response to NASCAR parking him and all he gets is a 3 race probabtion. If I was NASCAR Carl would have to sit a race out.
AND WE HAVE A CAUTION- No shit darrel.
That was actually Larry Mac
And we have a caution!!! People... We have a caution.
Oh my gosh. We have a caution. Spread the word.
did anybody remember that Kyle Busch crash at Daytona i think when he gets owned in the last lap close to the finish line? that was a crazy one too, but how these things happens too a almost 2000 kgs car?
@Mafia10J no carl came down on brad at dega as he did earlier in the atlanta race.
