    Hey Tango, if you want a cleaner look for your conveyer lifts to your iron factory... use the floor holes as there is no length limit and it ends up being a straight pipe!!

    They really need to implement a triangulation feature with the radar towers where once you have 3 up it will geolocate everything

      Should there be a minimum distance between the towers? Otherwise you could put three right next to each other to min/max the overlap.

    • @BeholdNails
      @BeholdNails 3 дня назад

      @@stevena105 the further away the towers are, the more accurate the pinpoint is. 3 close towers with a large overlap=inaccurate pins, 3+ distant towers with a small overlap = perfectly placed pins.

    How I use priority power switches: Set your factory to a low priority (5-8) and set your power plant to high priority (1). When you overload your power grid, it’ll automatically turn off low priority things. This way your power plant stays running. If you lose power to your coal power plant, it’s hard to get back up and running because of all the water. It produces enough power to keep itself running so you’ll never need to restart it this way. Huge time save and essential to unlock to save you from your future self.

    • @Yrouel86
      @Yrouel86 7 дней назад +3

      That's valid but personally instead of fiddling with that stuff I just built myself so much power that I don't have to think about it in the first place.
      Right now I'm at over 180GW without nuclear (which I'm close to bringing online) so...

    • @phiefer3
      @phiefer3 5 дней назад

      This can work, but it relies on your power plants being completely self-contained. That's simple enough when you're just using coal gens that are built right next to their coal nodes, or regular fuel being made right at the oil nodes. But when you start getting into turbo fuel and beyond, your supporting machinery is more likely to be more spread out, and more difficult to disconnect your "power plant" from the main grid.
      Also, it's wrong to think of your power plant as being switch 1, because the switches are not really sections of the grid, they are the connections between sections of the grid. If you have a self-contained coal plant connected to your grid through a priority switch, that switch does not and will not ever turn off your your coal plant regardless of what priority it is set to, because all that switch can do is disconnect your coal plant from the rest of the grid. So it's the rest of the grid that the switch will turn off, not the power plant.
      What you want to do is have each of your power plants (as well as all of their supporting machinery) all connected together by a central network. That's the backbone of your grid, that should never go down. Then everything else that isn't involved with generating power should only ever be connected to the main grid through a priority power switch, and those switches should be named for what they are connecting to the grid. Done this way, you won't have switches labeled for the power plants, because they don't turn off, it's everything else that gets disconnected from the power plants. (if you want, you could have the power plants connected to the central backbone through switches on the highest priority, in case you accidentally connect something to the grid that bypasses the switches so that each power plant can isolate themselves, but again, depending on how spread out things like turbo fuel or nuclear lines are, it may not be feasible to separate the power plants from one another).

      @joshuatuinder8373 5 дней назад

      @@phiefer3 Nice points especially that second one. It’ll disconnect itself but sill be self contained. I still would want it a high priority because it’ll leave the power connected to the network. If you have it as a lower priority than your production, when a fuse blows, you disconnect power and all of your production stops. If you have multiple tiers of production set at different priority levels, you can shut down some production without shutting down all of it.
      My situation is exactly what you said. I’m currently running coal power plants right next to coal nodes. I’m teetering at the limit of that and I’m about to move onto fuel but I’ve tripped the fuse a few times since I don’t have my coal power maxed out. Isolating it killed my production but left the miners and water extractors running. That gave me the opportunity to expand my coal power without needing to fiddle around with power connections and bio generators to get the water extractors up. They just stayed running.
      I’m not tied to this and when I get fuel/turbofuel running, I’ll probably isolate it in the same way. I probably won’t be having power problems for a while but it’s a nice little safety net.

    The last mod you want is "Settings Copier". It gives you a hand held tool for copying/pasting settings between machines so you can just go through and click on them rather than key combos. It will even copy over clock settings. It's not a huge thing early game but you're gonna want it later

    1:00:00 encased pipes are good if you don’t want to bother with steel production. You can use the Iron Pipe recipe, and build encased beams without needing coal at all, which greatly increases the number of places you can build heavy modular frames without importing it. Which can also scale production more effectively, especially in the desert, where there’s an absolute butt-ton of iron, and only a few coal nodes.

    if i was the devs i would change the radio towers to do proper triangulation. like you select a resource and the circle that pulses pings when it hits reaches the radius of the selected resource. that way you can put multiple towers down and see when they ping each resource to do the proper calculations. It would be fairly balanced, especially if you have to do the calculations yourself, or just have adjustable circles that you can use to "test" the signal at that distance

    Biofuel is not better than turbofuel. Turbofuel makes you go a lot faster (more thrust), but biofuel lasts long I think. It feels (I didn't do any testing) that turbo fuel makes you go further though.

      @ I don’t have much interest in the game beyond tango’s streams. I just thought it was odd that you have to only eat what you find instead of having something that produces a constant source of food.

    • @timeittells
      @timeittells 6 дней назад

      @@Nathan123..I honestly think an easy source of factory produced food would make the game less about survival, right now at times even in the end game you have to get food which is a survival collection task. i also only watch tango play though so maybe I have a limited perspective
