The headboard was really impressive. I loved how you thought of using cheap white fabric for a liner, so the yellow didn't show through. The closet looks amazing. The outdoor space really makes the area. And I love what you've done for your cat. I love your videos. I never want them to end.

That felt like three videos worth of yumminess. When you brought out that headboard I thought to myself "What on earth has gotten into Benita?" and almost exactly then you said "quesionable choice of fabric". Whew. I thought we'd lost you for a second there!

I love how the placement of the painting in the bedroom made that bumpout wall a feature instead of a problem. There’s a wonderful intentional-looking asymmetry to that side of the room now with the beautiful painting as a 'window'.
Also truly inspiring to see how much you’re able to accomplish by yourself!

First, I miss my cats. If you want to find a missing cat, make the bed. They will appear as if by magic. You talk to your fur baby…I love that!
Second, I have always thought of myself as inventive in finding ways to get things done even though I live alone. Using shims under the door was brilliant. Making your headboard was inspired. And your balcony is very inviting.
The Cincinnati Zoo also uses a thin metal fencing material in black to cage small creatures (birds). The signage noted that photographing the inhabitants through this material works well to get distant shots without the fencing being noticeable.

A great job again Benita…..laughed when Bonus jumped on the men, it brought back great memories as I had three helpers that were always around especially on sheet changing day..had so many laughs with them………the bedroom looks lovely and the color very calming, I love that the balcony is off of that room as you will get a lovely breeze most of the time……..well done………..Donna in Toronto

Älskar dina videor! Ang färgen, kan det vara så att den underliggande mörkare färgen påverkar den nya så att du hade behövt grundmåla väggarna innan? när jag målade över en hemsk mörk lilagrå nyans i vår hall med en ljusare gråbeige färg upplevs den forfarande som lite blålila trots tre lager. Samma färg i köket (som hade vitt som bas) upplevs precis som färgprovet visade. Samma väderstreck och ljusinsläpp i båda rummen men färgerna upplevs olika.
Det var det jag trodde först men efter tre strykningar och ingen skillnad 🤔

The Milanote software is truly revolutionary for these projects..! And thanks for reminding me how to sew, I'd forgotten the art of pinning fabric in reverse and stitching...so easy, but after a 30 year career outside the home in Academic AV & IT, I've forgotten a LOT! I`m going to move into a very small house in some months and discovering your videos solved so many of my interior problems. I could not decide if I want it in scandi or boho or both or whatever. It is the first house for me alone and it is such a lovely little space - the whole house is about 50 sqm on two floors. It is nearly 120 years old with beautiful old floorboards and a tiled stove. So lovely! It earns to be treated well and now I know exactly what it wants me to do. It wants whitewashed floors and white clay plaster walls and it wants only the bare necessities. Thank you so much - can`t stop watching!!!

I really enjoy seeing how it's all starting to come together (you have a knack for dealing with the challenging bits!). Those brass patio door handles are gorgeous... what a find!

Thank you! I worked on it bit by bit but the final painting and filling of gaps took about three days.

those questions about the gaps must have come from Americans I have been living in the States longer than in my home country England and I still forget this is a young country and they have no idea of the beauty of living in homes that have had many lives. Slip covers fix everything! That gap between baseboard and floor would drive me nuts, so that was a good and inexpensive fix. love the balcony. Just to have a little outdoor space helps your mental state and the cat's too! Well done.

I have the same paint color. It is my favorite from all the houses I have owned. Restful. This is your best video yet! You are into the details that I sometimes forget. I also have what I call a “helper cat” to help me make my bed. 😁 Such a simple detail like filling in gaps between the floor and the trim is an amazing improvement.. instant relaxation with no gaps! So well done. 👍🏻

We just added plastic netting with zip ties to our deck railings, too! We were surprised at how good the black looked. We still have to watch the cats so they don’t climb, claw or chew, but it definitely helps. Making the bed in a cat household is endless fussing trying to achieve the impossible 😜

I am in need of comfortable pillows...can you please recommend which style you bought? I made pillows out of kapok but I need some that keep their shape better. 😊
The pillows are from Engmo Dun, the covers on them are IKEA.
Dear Benita, your new place turned out to be amazing after all of your added work, DIYs and taste - no question! Well done and congratulations! But may I ask you openly: don‘t you miss your 30qm patio in your old space now that it turns to summer season? I have just watched your former patio video again and I always considered your patio (and your former apartment in general) as the ideal place of dreams for single living (which is also my situation). I mean, your new balcony is truly beautiful with everything you have now attached to it, but it is beyond compare in size, privacy and possibilities of usage in contrast to your patio at your old space. I‘m asking because I have also moved to a new apartment and I truly adore it - BUT I also live with a very tiny balcony now whereas I had a huge one before with lots of space for sunbathing, friends, hours and hours of reading and relaxation without being on display to neighbours, etc. I used to spend most of the time out there from spring onwards until the end of autumn. It was like an additional apartment so to speak. And now that summer has come to my new place, I really really suffer from only having a tiny balcony with only poor privacy.... I‘m interested in how you are dealing and feeling on that matter and how you experience summer season now without your patio. Lots of Love from Germany and best wishes

I need your expertise please. My home has a lot of creams, tans, beige and taupes along with a lot of white. I love it but I’m really wanting to mix some greys in. Mainly lighter to maybe middle tones of grey. Will greys go well? Also, just a side question. What is the small flap door near the top of the wall in your bedroom? Thanks so much!
I think greys mix well with beige! There are a lot of greys and beiges though so se sure to look at samples. The little thingy is access to plumbing from upstairs I think. This used to be the kitchen.

Could you please tell me about your bed. Is the bottom white portion a box springs like in the US or is it a hard bas? Is the next layer memory foam and is it considered a mattress? Is it comfortable and thick enough? It is so simple I would love to try it when we replace our mattress.

Its lovely! I only ever buy white matt emulsion paint and mix my own colour with kid's acrylic paints. If youd just added black to the white (a bit at a time) you'd get grey. Or taupe = white + brown + black. Its so much cheaper too 😊😊 🇬🇧

Hello, i recently found your channel and it is very helpful, can you speak a bit about your wood floors and how you take care of them, i recently moved to an appartment in sweden and the floor was renovated before i came in, however after only 3 months it became a disaster, the renting company is not telling me what top coat they used and the whold floor is dull and full of furniture markings, if my kids move the dining chair that has protection on the legs, it leaves a mark, some people suggested i use green sapa for cleaning with a mop, but honestly i am lost, i dont know what to do, i am only 6 months in this new appartment and the floor looks like i have been living here for 15 years, i dont know what to do.
I’m afraid I don’t know how mine are treated. The previous owner didn’t do them and also didn’t know. I use såpa on mine.

I had a similar problem with paint looking such a different colour in one room than another. We eventually decided it must be the light reflecting off the green ivy and trees outside the window that made the colours looks strange. After trying about 12 different colours, we eventually found one that worked perfectly.

It was painted by my uncle in the 1960’s!

Omg. We hd similar diy headboard project which didn't end so well. We thrifted a brown headboard and the idea was to fix it to the frame but in the end after whole day of trying and almost breaking our bed legs we learned that it's actually perfect just leaning against the wall :'D I ordered linen cover that is a bit loose fit though. You made it seem so easy to do the cover yourself so for a minute I thought to ry also and then remembered that I have decluttered my sewing mashine xD
