Imagine Dave Murphy going to the theatre. The house lights go down, all is in darkness until a single spotlight illuminates a lone figure on the stage. The audience is hushed with anticipation. The actor slowly looks up, takes and breath and then...Dave pipes up and says "We can't see you! We're in darkness and the light is gathered around you! I literally cannot see a thing right now!!!!". Somewhere between 130 and 140. Imagine if those engineers would have just said: ah, f... this, we'll beat the astronomers into saying that the Earth is flat and our rockets crushed into the dome, which sometimes falls very close to the ground, 'cause God didn't fit His terrarium with a cap that actually fits.

Yeah! "Don't tell me he's actually doing that!" Oh, well, he's been a pilot or an engineer for decades now. It doesn't come easy, though; engineers make mistakes and pilots die attempting those things. I was just watching some Falcon 9, Falcon heavy and SN starships launches, and a Saturn 5 launch for comparison; yeah, that's how you send more than a tiny probe to the Moon! So many people don't realize the kind of pressure NASA was under back in its glory days. Not just the time pressure, which made the engineers building Saturn 5's magnificent Rocketdyne engines leave just their blueprints for their followers and take the engineering intricacies of their actual building to their graves, but pressure from society. You think, just because humanity had barely made it out of WWII, people would sing their astronaut heroes and be all excited at humanity opening its horizons?! Of course not. People were their usual selves, hating and denying accomplishments just as they do today. A large part of the children did get excited, though, they thought humanity was on a path towards greatness; the educational system took off, and a generation of educated, hard working and enthusiastic people came to be. But, in a test of "visionarism" from a SciFi almanac from 40 years ago, do you know who got to be right on humanity's accomplishments over the following decades, with the categories ranging from "incorrigible skeptic" to "Arthur C. Clarke clone"? The "couch bound visionaries" correctly predicted humanity's near future.

Also, there was this flat earther who was trying to explain to other flat earthers not to use those star shots taken with out of focus cameras, as evidence of the stars and planets not being what "They" have told us that they are. This flat earther knew his cameras and understood those are being out of focus shots, but do you think the rest of the flat Earth community listened to him? As far as I've seen so far, even professional flat earth photographers use P900/P1000 (a camera of choice of not a single real professional photographer in a history) on a complete auto including AF. Or smartphone. Notice how any the very amateur astro photographer takes images of deep space to have 20+ mpx images with plenty of details, desired exposure and manual focus to infinity. While every single flerfer takes 1080p video with AF on, which gives you 2.1 mpx of shit quality, coz you can't get shutter speed less than 1/24th of a sec and AF is always hunting in a complete darkness even on the best cameras. And that's just one example of how fcking retarded they are. And then they claim that any eye-bleeding shit that looks weird on their camera is reality, and every proper image and video taken by professionals with proper equipment is CGI. And ofc artifacts such as flares, reflections etc: when they got 'em, it's real. When any other video got artifacts - it's proof of CGI.

It's more and more hilarious each time I hear it. Like, it's a joke that Australia is "upside down" so much so that it's a meme, but these morons literally are like "Take pictures of the upside down people!" Like... they just don't understand how "down" and "south" are not the same thing. They literally think that the oceans should be dripping off the Earth like a wet tennis ball, and it's just so adorably stupid that you have to laugh.

HIs argument reminded me of the guy that asked for a Spy satellite to shoot an image of the equator where the skyscrapers stick out straight to the sides.
Do they think such cameras can be freely positioned at whatever location and distance we want? Where would you even go to to make it clear it's both the Earth "the right side up" AND Australia with a single person swimming "head over/under" ??? As soon as you zoom in to try and see a swimmer or walker on the beach... you loose any indication of the orientation of earth, so the photo would be meaningless.

I thought it was utterly hilarious when he referred to himself as a "tattooer." I know at least 14 people who give people tattoos professionally for a living, and I have talked to several others. Literally NONE of them call themselves "tattooers." They are tattoo artists. A "tattooer" is not a thing (even my spellcheck is freaking out over the word). If the guy can't even get the name of his own profession right, how am I supposed to take him seriously about anything else?

@testing 22.1 to 24.5 degrees means a total range of 2.4 degrees. Each degree of latitude is approximately 69 mile or 111 kilometers, meaning that 2.4 degrees is only 165.6 miles or 266.4 km difference in position. Also, this movement happens gradually throughout the year. When you look at how far away Polaris is (430 light years), such a small shift in angle is imperceptible to human eyes, especially since it is happening so slowly. If you were to take the highest resolution photo possible of Polaris at maximum zoom when the tilt is at its lowest angle, then take another photo of equal resolution when the tilt is at it greatest angle, then have those photos compared against each other by the most sensitive image analysis software out there, you MIGHT find a difference that is detectable to the computer. Just because it's not visible to your eyes doesn't mean it's not real. Do you also doubt the existence of the oxygen we breathe? Can't see it after all. Science has proven that it's there, but you don't believe in scientific proof. Prove to me, without science, that oxygen exists. For that matter, prove to me (again, without science) that we even NEED oxygen. See, the same scientific processes made ALL of our discoveries, so you either have to acknowledge that science works--which means acknowledging the things it has discovered or proven unless or until you can PROVE those findings are incorrect in a way that others can repeat (and rhetoric does not constitute proof, as so many flat earthers fail to realize)--OR you have to dismiss ALL of science because it is a flawed system. Science isn't a buffet line where you get to choose only the things that you think taste good; if you believe science works, then you have to accept all the things proven by it, and if you think it DOESN'T work, you need to reject everything based on it. It's that simple. You're right though, we don't live on a "spinning ball;" we live on an oblate spheroid that slowly rotates a constant and comfortable rate of 15% per hour or one full rotation every 24 hours. "Spin" implies a much higher rate of rotation (more akin to the idiot experiment of spinning a ball in the air to see if water sticks to it--I call this the idiot experiment because the only conclusion that can be drawn from the experiment is that any person using it to determine whether the oceans would stay on the Earth's surface is an idiot), and "ball" usually implies that the object in question is actually spherical. Of course, I honestly believe many flat earthers are fully aware of all the facts I covered here but choose to overlook them because nobody would take them seriously and watch their videos if they stated facts that disprove the point they're trying to make. If you wanted to make a video to convince people that clouds are made out of cotton candy, you wouldn't include an explanation of how water vapor condenses around microparticles in the atmosphere and adheres together in visible clusters; you don't get views by disproving your own argument. So flat earthers omit inconvenient facts. Simple as that.

However on the same day I observed at 10am the shadow was south East slightly. And at 2pm the shadow was south west, slightly. If you have the sun directly over head during that time of year, I would of suspected the shadows to be exactly due west and east.
